00:00Hello again and welcome back to your latest national weather update.
00:03Most of us will begin the new working week with plenty of sunshine,
00:06but in the meantime we have this cold front to clear away from southeast England on Sunday night.
00:12High pressure then builds across the UK for Monday and Tuesday. Whilst that means mostly
00:16settled conditions, we'll see some low overnight temperatures and we could see a few pockets of
00:20frost in the countryside. The bigger picture though shows that we've got quite an active
00:25jet stream sitting in the North Atlantic Ocean. That's going to be making a beeline for the UK
00:29through the middle part of the week, so it's turning more changeable. There'll be spells of
00:33wind and rain for all of the UK and potentially some very unsettled weather developing by Friday.
00:39Back to Sunday evening though and we have this cold front making its way southeastwards across
00:43England and Wales. That'll be bringing a spell of rain, potentially heavy in places
00:47as it moves southeastwards. Sky is clearing quite widely behind the front though, so
00:52turning chilly in some glens in Scotland, but also some blustery showers coming into northern
00:57Ireland, northern and western Scotland. Potentially heavy in places and still quite windy around the
01:01coasts. A milder night though in the south compared to last night. Monday morning we'll see this band
01:07of cloud and showery rain quite quickly clearing away from southeast England and then it's a sunny
01:13picture for the vast majority. Some patchy cloud across more northern areas, a few showers coming
01:18into northwestern coasts and perhaps more widely across Scotland. The odd heavier one in places and
01:23still quite windy with some coastal gales in northern Scotland, so feeling quite cool here.
01:28But further south with largely unbroken sunshine on the south coast, we should see highs of 17
01:33degrees celsius. Monday night we'll see largely clear skies in the south, so quite quickly turning
01:39chilly underneath those clearing skies. A few scattered showers continuing further north,
01:43but most of these dying out into Tuesday and it stays dry for the vast majority. The best of the
01:49brightness towards the south and temperatures by the afternoon rising to around average for the
01:53time of year. We've got the first full moon of the autumn tonight, so if you do take any photos
01:58please do share them with us using the hashtag loveukweather. We'd love to see them, but otherwise
02:03stay up to date by following us on our social media channels and I'll speak to you again very soon.
