00:00Hello. It's been a rather settled but cloudy day across the country during the course of
00:06Monday, with temperatures reaching nearly 20 degrees in one or two spots. The current
00:12spell of settled weather is thanks to an area of high pressure, and over the coming few
00:17days that area of high pressure will only very slowly move eastwards into the continent
00:22as cloud and rain approaches from the north and west, moving steadily across all parts
00:28of the country by the end of the week, but back to Monday evening. So a good deal of
00:33dry but cloudy conditions across much of the country, with some showery outbreaks of rain
00:38quickly clearing the south coast by midnight. We are likely to see a few breaks in that
00:44cloud develop, and where we do see some breaks, temperatures dipping into single figures,
00:48although most areas remaining in double figures. So it's a dry but cloudy start to Tuesday
00:55morning, and we are likely to see a few brighter spells across Wales and the west country,
01:03and during the course of the morning and into the afternoon, those brighter spells become
01:07a little bit more widespread. Winds generally light and from the north. Now with those brighter
01:14conditions that will have an impact on temperatures. Temperatures rising a little bit higher than
01:19the values we actually saw on Monday, with highs of 19 and 20 across parts of the south,
01:26and 18 across parts of Scotland. So those dry but cloudy conditions continue into Tuesday
01:33evening, although we are seeing a few breaks, and with some of those breaks overnight it
01:38will allow some localised mist and fog patches to form here and there. And looking a little
01:43bit further into the week, so rather dry and settled to start with, but cloud and rain
01:50will be pushing steadily south and eastwards, reaching all parts of the country by Thursday
01:55and Friday. Thank you for listening, and please check our social media channels for the latest
02:01updates. Bye for now.
