00:00Hey guys, heavily requested video, the Galaxy Note 10 Plus versus the iPhone 14 Pro.
00:07How does an older flagship stack up to a newer flagship?
00:10I think most people are curious about the speed and the camera still, so we're gonna
00:16go ahead and do that for you guys.
00:18First let's go over the specs real quick.
00:20We got the Snapdragon 855, 12 gigs of RAM, SD card support, and this has iOS 16, the
00:27A16 chip, 128 gigs of internal storage, 6 gigs of RAM, no SD card support of course,
00:33and we are on Android 12 on the Note.
00:36Alright so let's go ahead and just open up the Geekbench score so you guys can see what
00:39we're working with here.
00:40So you can see a big score difference here.
00:43So let's just see how that translates.
00:44We should see somewhat of a noticeable difference, hopefully.
00:48Let's go ahead and get started here.
00:50We'll just do some basic stuff.
00:52We'll do the phone.
00:55Pretty much the same.
00:57We'll go ahead and do YouTube.
01:01Again the Note sort of gets in on top there a little bit faster than the iPhone.
01:12Let's try Instagram.
01:17Pretty much a tie there.
01:18So you guys can see, actually not too big of a difference here.
01:23So we should see somewhat of a difference when it comes to launching games.
01:33Okay so that was a little bit of a difference but actually not that big of a difference
01:37though.
01:38So I was expecting to kind of see a more dramatic difference but I've always said this, the
01:43Snapdragon 855 is like an excellent chip guys.
01:47Really really fast.
01:48Even compared to the latest chip, you're not really seeing that big of a difference.
01:54Unless you're just really into speed, right?
01:56I don't think your average person would really notice.
02:02Again the Note.
02:03So the Note even coming in on top on some of these, I think the iPhone is just in general
02:07going to load up games a bit faster.
02:12Oh my god, I hate those.
02:22Alright, forget that one.
02:26Actually let's just retry that one.
02:34Should not get the pop-ups now.
02:38Okay, they're still pretty much close.
02:42Almost really.
02:44So this actually ended up being way closer than I expected.
02:48Let's go ahead and do PUBG.
02:50Now surprisingly your gaming experience is going to be pretty much the same for the casual
02:56gamer, right?
02:57If you are a more hardcore gamer, yes of course that extra power that the A16 is going to
03:02give you, it will really show in games like Genshin, games that are just super strong.
03:06But we can see it got in there really quick, quickly for PUBG right there.
03:12Note 10 plus now just gets in and you actually play at the same exact settings for right
03:18now.
03:19Both of these phones are able to play at HDR extreme.
03:22So if we just go ahead and look at PUBG, the settings here.
03:26There was a 90 frames option on the iPhone, but it's not here.
03:29I'm sure it'll come back after some optimization.
03:33But yeah, so PUBG runs really smooth.
03:37Again, Note 10 plus just plays excellently also at HDR extreme.
03:41So again, you really won't notice that big of a difference when it comes to performance
03:46as far as gaming and stuff like that, unless you're like a hardcore gamer.
03:51Next was the camera.
03:52So let's go over the specs of the cameras because I know people were curious about that.
03:58So we have a triple camera setup on the Note, 12 megapixel standard, 12 megapixel telephoto,
04:032x, and then a 16 megapixel ultra wide, and then it has a 0.3 depth sensor.
04:07It shoots in 4K 60 and then a 10 megapixel selfie cam that shoots in 4K 60 as well.
04:14The iPhone does have the new 48 megapixel standard.
04:17It's also got 12 megapixel telephoto, does 3x and then a 12 megapixel ultra wide.
04:22It does have a macro mode and then it shoots in 4K 60 on the front and back.
04:27And then you have a 12 megapixel selfie cam on here as well too.
04:30So check out the side by side stills.
04:32What do you guys think?
04:33Do you guys see a big improvement?
05:02All right guys, here's the video on the Note.
05:30Here's the 2x.
05:32And here's the 0.5.
05:41All right guys, here is the video on the 14, it's a 2x.
05:57And here is the 3x.
06:03There's also the 0.5.
06:09All right guys, let's talk about the display designs here.
06:12So the Note 10 Plus has just a very futuristic display, especially for it being such an older flagship.
06:19It does have a full 1440p display on here.
06:22It's a dynamic AMOLED, HDR10+.
06:256.8 inches, 1440p like I said, 498 for the PPI.
06:30There is no 120Hz on here though.
06:33You do have on the 14, and if you want to get the Pro Max version, it'll be the same size as the Note.
06:39But the display design obviously will still be the same.
06:42It's LTPO, XDR, OLED display, 120Hz, HDR10.
06:47Actually one of the brightest displays you can get right now.
06:50And it is a 1179x2556 resolution, 460 for the PPI.
06:56Obviously the big difference here is the punch hole versus Apple's new pill-shaped cutout.
07:02Which it does look much better than the Notch in terms of like watching videos and stuff like that, as you guys can see.
07:09But yeah, I just really like the look of the Note.
07:13I just think it looks super immersive.
07:16I just prefer, you know, the smaller intrusion.
07:19It's almost like, maybe like 5 of the punch holes.
07:24Maybe 1, 2, yeah, maybe like 5 or 4 of the punch holes.
07:28So yeah, so I do really like that.
07:30But like I said, you might like the 120Hz because it does feel smooth.
07:34You definitely notice that when scrolling and swiping and stuff like YouTube and stuff like that.
07:39But overall for the displays, you have two really great displays on these two phones.
07:45Let's go ahead and check out the speaker quality difference, max volume starting with the Note.
08:09So they're actually about the same in terms of volume.
08:25But the iPhone does have a much deeper and punchier bass to it as well.
08:31So that's something that definitely stands out to me.
08:33It seems like the mids and highs are a little bit more crispier on the Note.
08:40Yeah, the iPhone sort of goes for a more bass heavy type of sound.
08:44Also, just talking about some additional features.
08:47Obviously, you have the S Pen on the Note if you did not know.
08:53Basically, if you want to just navigate with the pen or you want to do like drawing or digital artwork,
08:59then you definitely will like having a Note.
09:03So that's definitely one thing to consider as well.
09:08And also, the Galaxy phones have a couple of a few additional features like the wireless power sharing mode
09:14where you could charge another device on the back of your phone.
09:17Samsung desktop support, secure folders, just a ton of very fun stuff.
09:22And also, let's talk about the security or biometrics.
09:28The iPhone only has face unlock, which works very, very well.
09:35But the Note also gives you face unlock, but it also gives you an in-display fingerprint sensor as well.
09:40So I always like having like double the options or two options personally.
09:45But just know that they're both very fast.
09:47They both have NFC.
09:49They both have wireless charging.
09:51So, you know, they're both very much feature packed.
09:54All right, guys.
09:55So for the battery situation, both these phones actually have very good battery life.
09:59I'm still able to get six hours of screen on time on my Note pretty easily.
10:03This phone does have a 4,300 milliamp battery.
10:07And you actually have 45-watt charging on the Note 10+, which is really nice.
10:12So it charges really fast.
10:13And then on the iPhone, it does have a 3,200 milliamp battery.
10:17And then it has the MagSafe fast wireless charging as well, which is a really nice, cool little thing.
10:23So you can sort of like stick stuff to the back of this phone.
10:26So basically, battery life is going to be great on both of these phones.
10:30So be sure to let me know what do you guys think, and I will catch you guys in the next one.
