00:00all right guys as promised today we got the galaxy s1 this one I found for
00:06probably a little bit cheaper it was like maybe 22 bucks no charger so
00:17hopefully this is charged up and wow this is this one is just super small as
00:22well too I think this one design wise actually looks better than the iPhone
00:27very very nice-looking guys very sleek looking phone here just super small
00:33look at how small the hold on let me there's a galaxy s24 yeah how small this
00:38is all right so we got one camera this one actually has a flash power button is
00:48it feels like just an all-plastic phone we've got navigation buttons up front
00:53here and then we do have I think that's micro USB and then a headphone jack
01:02up board this one is locked to us cellular and we should be able to take
01:07the back off of here if I remember yeah so it's a 1500 milliamp hour battery oh
01:15somebody left somebody left in the SD card in here so let's turn it on here so
01:22at the sweep to unlock and this is Samsung's touch with Wow it doesn't look
01:31that bad I remember a lot of people hated touch with so that's why Samsung
01:37moved to one UI if I can remember correctly but I like the icons oh the
01:43wallpaper is uh it's a live wallpaper is moving oh that's cool
01:49yo for this to be a 2010 phone it's pretty cool
01:58and the screen on here at guys that the screen on here still looks really good
02:03this is how far ahead Samsung is in screen technology because the screen on
02:08here is a super AMOLED display it's a four inch display 480 by 800 233 for the
02:14PPI so this screen looks fantastic it looks way better than the original
02:19iPhones display and again I know that those phones have you know a big you
02:24know year gap right 2007 you know 2010 but yeah this looks awesome even for
02:292010 here alright so you guys can see the the overall screen size here you
02:35could pretty much put the entire galaxy s10 one in the s24 ultra it's really
02:43really crazy these phones have has gotten huge over time alright so on the
02:49galaxy s1 here so it basically has a you know single camera and it's a five
02:57megapixel and it shoots in 720p and I think it yeah 720p 30 frames so let's
03:04take a little picture sample here and you can just see how much the cameras
03:12have evolved you got a hundred times zoom you got it's crazy telephoto lens
03:16on the the s24 8k video recording it's absolutely insane the camera jump so
03:25let's go ahead and do it like that

03:39yeah so obviously lacking a ton of detail it looks really good like right
03:46here but if you zoom it in and you can definitely see the difference here
03:52there's almost no oh well it fix itself okay I just have to wait a little bit

04:05that's pretty good look at that all right so let's just check out touch with
04:13a little bit here so these are your buttons that you would navigate with
04:17change your wallpaper go into settings
04:24so I wonder I have to do a little bit more research but I wonder what was like
04:29the thing about touch with that everyone hated I'm assuming I think it has
04:34something to do with some type of lag problem here are your all of your apps
04:43okay see we'll be giving me swipe down notification panel okay this is very
04:50simple very clean everything is very colorful um some would say cartoonish I
04:56guess I got so I'm able to web browse on here but I can't like get into
05:06basically any apps I can't get into the Play Store either and it says everything
05:12is not supported so this is running Android 2.3 gingerbread on top of the
05:19touch with try to go to to the YouTube app nope yeah so the same problem with
05:26the iPhone is just too old to run anything but like the basic web browser
05:32does work so far I don't see why touch wiz is considered terrible maybe as we
05:43progress throughout the years and maybe it gets worse
05:49video player and it's a bunch of this guy's videos hopefully we don't see
05:56anything too crazy here a video is pretty good
06:05ah live wallpapers were really like a cool thing back in these days see I
06:18remember this one if you touch it it'll like do a little animation like that
06:26obviously they they don't push live wallpapers because of battery life but I
06:32mean these things were always super super entertaining alright guys I wasn't
06:37able to get into the App Store on here but I did sideload the APK on here so
06:44we're gonna see if it works I can install it alright guys the dumb
06:49minions game took forever to install and then just wouldn't open but I got one of
06:57the all-time great games doodle jump I used to play this all the time in high
07:02school here this is a very very fun game even today can easily kill time playing
07:11this game so you can put apps on these these older phones but you have to make
07:16sure that it's the actual older APK and sideload it there's no you can't get
07:23access anything on here as far as the applications no online ones at least
07:31this is playing really well I wonder what else I can play on here I have to
07:36figure out like what was out alright so overall had a really fun experience with
07:44this phone I think what's very interesting about these older phones and
07:48one thing that you could say I think it's better is that you were given a lot
07:53of options back in these days as far as the phone not feeling so restricted like
07:58if the battery died and you were out you just pop the the back off right and you
08:04just swap out the battery you just swap out an SD card or just put one in if you
08:09you need more storage and this has got to be way easier to repair and stuff
08:14like that I mean these are screws right here that anyone can just take out so
08:20very very interesting because these phones are these days are very hard to
08:26repair you know you don't get the expandable storage anymore you don't get
08:30the headphone jack so yeah so I mean Apple started off like not giving you SD
08:36card support not letting you take the phone apart and then everyone just kind
08:39of follow suit so you can see they started but they kind of follow suit
08:43once they realize that you can make more money but the innovation and the
08:47difference here is absolutely insane I mean this is a night and day experience
08:52One UI has just gotten so good you know thankfully Samsung switched to TouchWiz
08:58I'm not really sure what was wrong with it I'm assuming it has some really bad
09:01lagging problems but the software has become so advanced here with Samsung
09:07desktop support and a lot of the Galaxy AI stuff this stuff you just really
09:11couldn't imagine back in 2010 here and then also you got the built-in S Pen
09:17down here as well too that works great for digital artists but I'm actually
09:21pretty impressed with this phone so I believe this one is not the the first
09:26first Galaxy I think this this is the Galaxy Mesmerize as far as I know um so
09:32they came out in the same year so they're the model is they were like
09:37renaming the the phone so I think it's the i9000 is the like first model
09:42because it doesn't it only has like two buttons and a middle button this one has
09:46multiple buttons but this one came out in the at this in the same time frame so
09:52I think that's pretty interesting like there's there's different variations of
09:56the original Galaxy phone which I think is is interesting let me know what you
