00:00What's up guys, so this was a common question that I received when we picked up the s
00:0621 plus a few days ago, and I think this is a pretty good question
00:11Should you get the note 20 ultra or the s 21 plus so there is a big difference when it comes to software
00:18updates at least and
00:20Also, it really is going to come down to the cameras as well, too
00:24and there there actually is a lot here with this comparison list, so let's go ahead and
00:29Get started all right, so this was a question that I was getting a lot note 20 ultra or the s 21 plus and
00:37It's a pretty good comparison guys, so there's actually a lot here software updates play a big part in decision-making here also
00:45What you guys think about the image quality? I'll show you guys some side-by-side stills and
00:50yeah, so we'll go through everything and there is actually a quite a bit of difference here and
00:55Let's just start off with the price of these two phones, right?
00:59So the price is going to play a pretty big difference a pretty big deciding factor here
01:05So let's go ahead and bring that up so the note 20 ultra is going for it looks
01:11323 in
01:13good condition 330
01:16So we can say to get a pretty good condition when you'll pay around 350. It looks like for a note 20 ultra
01:22Yeah for a good condition one like this one. It's good condition to use refurbished
01:28the
01:29S21 plus is it is a little bit cheaper, so we can say maybe $100 cheaper around $250
01:36This is a good version right here. You guys were asking about that last. This is a good refurbished version. It's not excellent
01:42Excellent you would have to pay like 289 excellent means that it's like
01:46Almost brand-new looking this one. It's got like maybe this one almost is brand-new looking
01:52It just I think I had a few like light scratches
01:56Maybe at the bottom. I think but it this was almost brand-new looking to me alright
02:02So the hardware is actually a big part of the decision-making here with the note 20 ultra
02:08It's a glass metal device got a glossy back, which I do prefer the s21
02:13Matte finish doesn't pick up fingerprints as much
02:16But it's got the built-in s-pen so with the s-pen you could do digital artwork
02:22You can just jot down notes. You can take advantage of all of Samsung's
02:27all of Samsung's
02:29Features in here like the smart select. You know AR all that sort of stuff translation
02:34They have a lot of good s-pen software and not only that but the note 20 ultra does have SD card support
02:41As well too, so this phone does have expandable storage in the s21 does not and it does not have a built-in pen
02:49Now the s21 does have I think a maybe a slightly better looking design
02:54I've always been a fan of the s21 design here, especially the camera cutout. It's a matte finish
03:00This is also IP68 dust and water resistant, but this one no
03:05You know SD card support and of course no built-in
03:09Stylus here and as far as the design the s21 plus is definitely a little bit more comfortable to hold
03:15You know is super boxy the s21 is has a bit of a curve on the edge
03:21So it just fits better in the palm here and they're actually about close to about the same size
03:27You know being a little bit bigger. Alright, so let's talk about the displays here
03:32So the note 20 ultra has a 6.9 inch 1440p display
03:36It's a more boxy display as well to dynamic AMOLED 120 Hertz HDR 10 plus it is 120 Hertz
03:43But only at 1080p and it's 496 for the PPI
03:48The s21 does have a dynamic AMOLED display at 6.7 inches
03:52It's also 120 Hertz HDR 10 plus and it's a little bit brighter at 1300 nits peak brightness
03:59Not by much, but it is a little bit brighter. This is 1080p 334 394 for the PPI
04:05Um, basically
04:07We have I think one of the biggest differences is this is completely flat on the s21 and the note is actually curved
04:15So, you know, it depends on what you kind of like there but two very beautiful displays
04:20The note does technically have a higher res display being you know, 1440p
04:25So you will be able to watch content 1440p
04:27But like I said, most people are gonna be using this phone in 1080p
04:31So the displays are, you know, pretty much the same kind of besides the overall
04:38Display design of a more boxy display this one not as boxy and it's no curve to it
04:44Um, so I like the displays on both. They're very fast smooth looking displays very colorful and very bright
04:50So not actually a big difference with displays as far as quality goes
04:55Let's talk about these specs and software a little bit more because I think this plays a pretty big role here
05:00So, you know 20 does have Android 13 when you i5 and it is really snapdragon 865 chip
05:07And like I said micro SD card support on here
05:11128 gigs of internal storage in 12 gigs of RAM is on this one and then the s21 is also running Android 13
05:18when you i5 and then we also have the snapdragon 888 on here and then we do not have SD card support and
05:26Then this model is 128 gigs and 8 gigs of RAM
05:29So you can see the score difference here
05:33The triple-a is going to be you know
05:35Just slightly faster than the note 20 ultra in benchmarks not by much and you definitely really won't feel
05:41The difference in terms of performance here. They both pretty much feel
05:45Actually identical in terms of just speed and overall smoothness running one UI
05:50So the big difference here with the software experience is that the s21 will get up to Android 15
05:59So we had a lot of confusion, but this one does get Android 15. The note will not get Android
06:0714 or 15. It's only going to get security patches from that one
06:11so that is a big difference there for people who want to experience when you i6 and
06:187 and stuff like that. You do have to take that into consideration
06:21But overall smoothness. I really like the a65 chip
06:26Like I said, it is a really fast phone
06:28You guys can see still super fast and it actually is a little bit better optimized as well, too
06:36So we'll go ahead and jump in a pub G real quick
06:42And I'll actually just let this load up I guess see which one gets in here first
06:56And
07:02We can see the triple-a got in there just a little bit faster
07:06All right
07:07So these both these phones regardless of which phone you go with they do an excellent job with gaming
07:12But this a65 chip is a better optimized at least for pub G. We're able to play at 90 frames
07:18So for all my guys that play pub G and also some other games
07:21I think Call of Duty fortnight of the triple-a and not as well optimized as the
07:28You know the a65 but this still does an excellent job at playing at 60 frames
07:32So that's just one thing that you know, I've noticed I think with all these like big games
07:37The note can play them all at like 90 frames fortnight Call of Duty all those games
07:42So it is a little bit better optimized, but I wouldn't necessarily say it's you know, a significantly better gaming device
07:49Honestly for the average person both these phones would do a great job
07:53yes, you do technically get a little bit more power with the triple-a, but
07:58You know, these phones tend to heat up a lot the the triple-a phones
08:02This one actually is not as bad as the s21 ultra
08:07But I think the gaming experience is actually pretty good. But like I said, the the note is technically a little bit more well optimized
08:15Both these phones have stereo speakers. We got them at max volume. Let's go ahead and test it out
08:45Yeah
08:53Yeah, so the note does sound a little bit fuller
08:56With the speakers, they're both pretty loud and you know, there's stereo speakers
09:00So if you cover the bottom you still get pretty good sound at the top
09:03But the note does sound a little bit fuller that has a little bit more bass to it. Um
09:09Both these phones have under the display fingerprint sensors, which is awesome. You can also take advantage of face unlock
09:14They pretty much feel the same
09:16So that's really good and they pretty much have a lot of the same software features
09:21For right now at least samsung desktop support secure folders reverse wireless charging
09:26I pretty much all the same stuff minus the the s-pen stuff. Alright, so let's talk about the cameras
09:32So the note 20 ultra does have a pretty good camera system still in 2023
09:38It's a hundred eight megapixel standard camera 12 megapixel periscope
09:42Telephoto has five times optical zoom and then it goes up to the 50 times hybrid zoom a 12 megapixel ultra-wide
09:48It can shoot up to 8k 24 with a 10 megapixel selfie cam that shoots in 4k 60
09:54And then you also have the s 21 plus which you know
09:58Still a pretty good camera system as well
10:00And then it has a 12 megapixel standard camera on here a 64 megapixel telephoto
10:06This does
10:071.1 optical zoom and then 3 times hybrid zoom and then has a 12 megapixel ultra-wide and it shoots an 8k 24
10:15As well and then a 10 megapixel selfie camera. She's in 4k 60 so you can see
10:21The note is just gonna have much better zoom
10:24Quality, so if you zoom in a lot as far as these stills
10:27I'm gonna let you guys see in the video and you guys can let me know which one you thought look better if you think
10:33If you think they look any different
10:36You
11:06You
11:36You
11:38You
11:40You
12:05All right, so battery life
12:06so it's been surprising the s 21 plus the s 21 plus does not have that much better battery life than the note and
12:14Both these phones have pretty good batteries
12:17Battery like they both last a full day for me
12:20So you can pretty much easily get six hours of screen on time out of both of these phones and they kind of have the
12:25same
12:26Battery size, so I think that maybe that's why so the note runs at
12:314,500 milliamp hour battery 25 watt charging
12:36Wireless charging reverse wireless charging the s 21 plus has a 4800 milliamp hour battery
12:42So it is a slightly bigger battery, but you can't really tell by the screen at one time
12:47I'm getting and it also has the same charging speeds at 25 watts wireless reverse wireless charging
12:53Like I said battery life pretty much seems the same on both of these phones, which is not a bad thing
12:57They're both actually do a pretty decent job still at battery life. If you're not doing anything too intense on these phones
13:04Um, so yeah, I like both of these phones
13:07I think it comes down to what you thought about the image quality software obviously plays a big part in this decision-making
13:14Do you want the s pen?
13:16The galaxy note has better zoom quality as well, too
13:20And I think some of the design aesthetics as well just being a little bit more boxy
13:25You might like that or you know, vice versa. You might like this one
13:29So it just depends. So what do you guys think? Be sure to let me know and I'll catch you guys in the next one
