00:17Let's go ahead and talk about the hardware.
00:19So hardware on here, it is a pretty nice upgrade

00:24You do get a glass and metal design on the S24.
00:27It's got the matte finish.
00:29It's IP68 dust and water resistant,
00:31and it overall just looks a little bit more modern
00:33compared to the S20 FE.
00:35The S20 FE has a plastic back and metal sides.
00:39It's also IP68 dust and water resistant,
00:41and it does have kind of like that matte finish as well too.
00:45I think they both look pretty nice.
00:46Obviously the S24 looks better,
00:49but the S20 FE I think is easier to hold.
00:52It's a little bit more comfortable.
00:54The S24 is definitely a little bit more boxy.

01:25The S20 FE, that is a feature you will be losing
01:28if you upgrade to the S24.
01:30All right, so let's talk about the displays here.
01:32So as you can see, the S20 FE,
01:35it is a bigger phone at 6.5 inches.
01:37It's a Super AMOLED display, 120 Hertz, HDR10+,
01:411080p, 407 for the PPI.
01:44The S24 has a 6.2 inch display,
01:47Dynamic AMOLED, LTPO display, 120 Hertz, HDR10+,
01:52but it does have a max brightness of 2600 nits.
01:55So it is a much brighter display in direct sunlight,
01:58and it's also 1080p, 416 for the PPI.
02:02So I wouldn't necessarily say
02:04that this is a big screen upgrade for the most part,
02:07especially if you're not really outdoors like that a lot.
02:10For the most part, they actually look pretty much alike
02:13in terms of display quality,
02:15and like I said, they're the same resolution as well too.
02:18Where you will see the difference is,
02:19like I said, with the max brightness,
02:21and also you will see the difference
02:24in like screen bezels, I guess,
02:27but I don't know how important that is.
02:29Like the aesthetics of the S24 is definitely better
02:32when it comes to those bezels and stuff like that.
02:35But overall, I wouldn't necessarily say
02:37that this is a big screen upgrade here.

02:42They both pretty much look the same to me.
02:45Like I said, the only real upgrade here
02:46is that the S24 is brighter outdoors.
02:50All right, let's talk about the specs a little bit here.
02:53So we are running Android 14 on the S24.
02:57This phone will actually get seven years
02:59of major OS updates.
03:00The S20 FE got its last major OS update with Android 13.
03:05And yeah, so it's only getting security patches right now.
03:09That could be a reason why.
03:10I think, like I've said this many times,
03:12I think the software updates could definitely
03:15be a little bit overrated for the most part,
03:18but I might make a whole video about that anyway.
03:21But as you can see the scores here,
03:22big difference with the scores here.
03:24Of course, you have a newer chipset on the S24.
03:28It is the Snapdragon 8Gen3.
03:30The base is 128 gigs and eight gigs of RAM.
03:33The S20 FE does have the Snapdragon 865 chipset on here.
03:37It does have micro SD card support,
03:39128 gigs and six gigs of RAM.
03:42And yeah, so you are gonna get a performance boost,
03:45but you guys know me.
03:48If you are somebody who is not running benchmarks
03:50and stuff like that,
03:51the noticeable difference is very minimal, right?
03:56So the S24, it definitely is faster
03:59getting into applications and stuff like that,
04:01but I wouldn't necessarily say it's noticeably faster
04:05to the average person or even to somebody
04:07who's honestly like a tech enthusiast or whatever.
04:11Yeah, they just feel the same.
04:13Like the S20 FE is still pretty, pretty fast.
04:18For the most part here, Google Earth.
04:22So you guys can see, so it's like right behind it.
04:26So I wouldn't necessarily say for like the average person
04:30that this is like a big speed upgrade for the most part.
04:35Now, software wise, you are gonna be getting
04:39now the Galaxy AI stuff,
04:43which is gonna be big in the coming years.
04:46Like AI is gonna be like the new thing.
04:49They have a lot of like translations, live interpretations,
04:51the photo editor.
04:52They have the circle to search thing on here as well too,
04:56which I actually do use quite a bit.
04:58So you just hold the button down,
05:00you can circle anything and it'll pretty much like find it.
05:03And it's very accurate.
05:04So you will be getting those AI features,
05:06but that's about it for like the software.
05:08You still have essentially all the same stuff
05:11that WinUI offers.
05:13All right, so if you are a gamer,
05:16the S20 FE still does pretty good
05:18as far as the gaming goes here.
05:21So I think that if you're a hardcore gamer,
05:24you will benefit a little bit.
05:26So like there is no 90 frames on the S20 FE
05:30on the Snapdragon model.
05:32And it still does pretty good HDR Extreme at 60 frames.
05:35I think it's pretty decent for gaming still.
05:38You can still pretty much play anything,
05:39PUBG, Call of Duty Mobile, whatever.
05:42But yeah, you will get the better settings on the S24.
05:47You will get that 90 frames option on here.
05:50And yeah, so optimization might be a little better.
05:54Obviously the GPU is more powerful on the S24.
05:58You really would have to be like a hardcore gamer,
06:00somebody who plays games a lot
06:02to really feel the benefit of this chipset.
06:06If you are just a casual gamer,
06:08you absolutely do not need to upgrade for performance.
06:12It's just not necessary.

07:49the cameras here, so on the S24, you do have a 50 megapixel standard, and a 10 megapixel
07:55telephoto, 12 megapixel ultrawide, it shoots in 8K 24 and 30, and then you have a 12 megapixel
08:02selfie cam that shoots in 4K 60, the S20 FE has a 12 megapixel standard, and then it
08:08also has a 8 megapixel telephoto, 3 times optical, then a 12 megapixel ultrawide, it
08:14shoots in 4K 60, and then a 32 megapixel selfie cam that shoots in 4K 60 as well too, so,

09:58Let's go ahead and touch on battery life here, the battery life is better on the S24,
10:03I think this is where it's just a really good upgrade, and it also is a smaller battery,
10:08but still giving off just better battery life, it's got a 4000 mAh battery, 25 watt charging,
10:13wireless and reverse wireless charging, the S20 FE has a 4500 mAh battery, 25 watt charging
10:20and wireless and reverse wireless, but, like, even if the S20 FE was brand new, it still
10:26wouldn't have as good a battery life as the S24, it is extremely good, especially with
10:31standby time too, it's just a good battery upgrade, so if you're somebody who's really
10:35battery conscious, you want a really good battery life, like I said, last year and this
10:40year is like the year for small phones, having good battery life is, like, very impressive,
