00:00Alright, so I had a lot of requests to do the S23 Ultra versus the 14T Pro.
00:04I actually think this comparison makes a lot more sense than the S24 Ultra here because
00:10they're around the same price.
00:12You can find the S23 actually in the used refurbished marketplace for around $700, which
00:18is very nice.
00:19And then the 14T Pro, you can actually buy brand new for around $779.
00:24I think you can get a new Galaxy for around $800, an S23, if you look around here.
00:29So they're a little bit more on par when it comes to the overall price point here.
00:34So which phone do you buy?
00:35What are the pros and cons?
00:36Let's go ahead and jump into it.
00:39This is also highly requested for my guys overseas, so shout out to you guys.
00:43And yeah, so let's go ahead and jump into it here.
00:46So you do have a boxier design on the S23 Ultra.
00:50It's not as comfortable to hold if you have smaller hands.
00:53And then the edge of the phone, it kind of pokes into the palm a little bit.
00:56You can get through this with a case, but it'll make the phone a little bit wider.
01:01The 14T Pro is a little bit more comfortable, well not a little bit, it's actually a lot
01:04more comfortable.
01:06Just overall, it curves into the palm, it doesn't poke.
01:09The sides are more comfortable as well too.
01:11And it's not as wide as the S23.
01:15And the S23 is going to be a bigger phone, so like I said, if you have smaller hands
01:19here, this phone, it can be a bit much to hold here.
01:23So as far as the overall build quality, beautiful designs on here.
01:27The 14T Pro, it's a phone that you have to see in person.
01:30I didn't like the renders when I saw it, but in person it looks pretty good.
01:35It does not look cheap or it does not feel cheap at all.
01:38I know a lot of people were saying they hate the design.
01:41Like I said, it's up to the person, but it's one of those phones that grew on me when you
01:44see it in person.
01:46As far as the hardware goes here, Samsung has the S Pen that we all know and love here.
01:52This is such a great feature if you're a digital content creator.
01:56Not digital, but if you're a content creator, you make content and you want to go ahead
02:01and film from a distance.
02:03You can use the pen to film videos from a distance, very nifty in that regard.
02:08You also can just navigate.
02:10You can do digital artwork because the latency is so good on here.
02:14You can do real digital artwork on here.
02:15I've seen it on YouTube, very impressive.
02:18And also you do have a bunch of features that Samsung throws in here.
02:21You got a lot of the AI stuff that you can do as well too with the S Pen as far as drawing
02:27and stuff.
02:28So it's a very cool thing to have here.
02:31So it really depends on the person whether you'll use the S Pen or not.
02:34They're both IP68 dust and water resistant.
02:36They both have the premium designs.
02:38They both have that matte finish as well too.
02:41Let's talk about the displays here.
02:43So you do have a much smaller display on the 14T Pro.
02:47It's a 6.67 inch display.
02:50AMOLED, 144Hz, we got Dolby Vision, HDR10+.
02:55This thing goes up to a crazy 4000 nits peak brightness and it is a 1220x2712 resolution
03:02at 446 for the PPI.
03:05The S23 Ultra has a dynamic AMOLED display.
03:08It's 120Hz, HDR10+, 1750 nits peak brightness at 6.8 inches.
03:14And then you also have a full 1440p resolution at 500 for the PPI.
03:19Two very nice looking displays here.
03:22Pretty respectable bezels on both of these phones here as you guys can see.
03:27So pretty decent bezels on here.
03:29Now the thing here is that the S23 has a curved panel which again you may or may not like.
03:36The curve is not super dramatic.
03:38It's a very kind of bare minimum curve here.
03:41But you do have a completely flat panel on the 14T Pro which you might like more.
03:46So it just depends.
03:47Color wise the S23's display is definitely a lot more colorful.
03:53You know Samsung goes for that colorful look.
03:55It might not be completely natural as a lot of people were telling me in the comments.
03:59It's not a natural display but if you're a Samsung fan or you just like more vibrant
04:04displays then this display does pop.
04:06It's very very nice to look at in my opinion.
04:09So I do like the more colorful display as opposed to the more dull or natural look.
04:14Alright so as far as the overall display quality goes that's pretty much it.
04:19The biggest difference here is going to be the overall display design.
04:23You get a bigger and boxier display which I do like on the S23.
04:27But then you do have the 144Hz on the 14T Pro which looks good.
04:32And then also it does just go crazy in direct sunlight.
04:35I mean it's really really bright at 4000 nits.
04:38Let's talk about the specs a little bit more here.
04:40So Xiaomi does have the Dimensity 9300 Plus chipset on here.
04:45You got 256GB of internal storage and 12GB of RAM.
04:49On the S23 we have the Snapdragon 8Gen 2 processor, 256GB and 8GB of RAM on this base model here.
04:57And this is actually the 1TB model as well.
05:00So let's go ahead and talk about the scores here.
05:04We do have a higher score on the 14T Pro doing a much better job in the multi-core score
05:10as you guys can see.
05:11So the Dimensity processor is pretty impressive here for the most part.
05:15They're both very smooth and fast phones.
05:18You are running Hyper OS and you do have One UI 6.1 on here.
05:23Here is the Steel Nomad light test.
05:25You can see we overall do get a better score on the 14T Pro here.
05:30What's interesting is the S23 did not drop a percent in terms of battery.
05:35It stayed at 48%.
05:38So I've been noticing that this phone is a little bit more efficient when it comes
05:41to battery life.
05:42And then you can see it actually started cooler at 27-28 versus Xiaomi's 36-37.
05:49And then we also do have a higher FPS, 9-14, 5-11 as well.
05:54So it's pretty interesting here, the performance monitoring here.
05:58Alright, so when it comes to PUBG here, we have very, very good settings on both of these
06:03phones.
06:04We have 120 frames on the 14T Pro, super, super buttery smooth here guys.
06:10And yeah, I haven't had any issues gaming on either of these phones.
06:14You could definitely come in here, play your favorite games, Genshin, PUBG, Call of Duty,
06:20Mobile, whatever.
06:21And it's the same thing for the S23, we're at 120 frames here.
06:25And overall the gaming performance is going to be roughly the same guys.
06:29So if you're playing Genshin or Call of Duty, at least for me as a lighter gamer, if you're
06:35a heavier gamer, it looks like the Agent 2 is kind of a little bit more efficient when
06:41it comes to battery life and overall just staying a little cooler.
06:45But for the most part, I haven't really had too much of an issue with the 14T Pro at all.
06:51It's been very smooth.
06:53As far as the OS and animations go, it seems to be pretty smooth.
06:57The Hyper OS is really, really quick, really fast.
07:01The animations are very smooth.
07:03So they've really worked on this skin here.
07:07I think it is fantastic how smooth it is.
07:11I haven't had any real hiccups with this phone.
07:16And I think it just comes down to a personal preference.
07:18There's a lot of stuff that you can like about One UI as far as good lock and as far as the
07:22Samsung desktop support and all of that.
07:26And yeah, it just really comes down to, you know, which OS you like.
07:32Alright, let's see which speaker sounds better.
07:34We'll start with the 14.
07:56I do think I like the overall sound of the S23 Ultra here.
08:20To me, it sounds a little bit louder and a little bit more cleaner.
08:25Yeah, it's definitely louder and it's a little bit cleaner.
08:33So I would actually give it to the S23 here.
08:36But the Xiaomi is pretty close, it's just not as loud.
08:39Alright, so let's talk about this fingerprint scanner as well.
08:42So they have an optical fingerprint scanner on the 14T Pro, which is not bad.
08:49But the thing about these optical ones is that it's not going to be as fast as the ultrasonic
08:54ones.
08:55And this is not a big deal.
08:56This is what I...
08:57I try to tell people this.
08:58This is not like a...
08:59It works perfectly fine.
09:00You can use face unlock and it's very accurate.
09:03I haven't had an issue with it.
09:05The difference here is that you kind of have a little bit more of a luxury experience,
09:10I guess, with this one.
09:11Because you can lightly tap this one and it'll go in, but you can't lightly tap the optical
09:15ones.
09:16Now one of the most slept on features that no one talks about is this IR blaster here.
09:21I always try to make people realize that this is an excellent feature that Samsung should
09:28definitely implement in their phones as well too.
09:31Being able to control TVs and...
09:36Just TVs and appliances and stuff like that is really, really cool.
09:40With this, you guys can see, you can control a lot of stuff with the IR blaster.
09:44So I control my TVs with my Xiaomi phones.
09:47They're like the only brand that I own that does the IR blaster.
09:51So I'm not sure why everybody else doesn't copy this, but it's very, very useful.
09:54I absolutely love it.
09:56So definitely, that's definitely a pro for the Xiaomi devices in general.
10:01It's just something I would like to see in other brands as well.
10:04Let's talk about the cameras on both of these phones here.
10:07With the 14T Pro, you have a 50 megapixel standard, 50 megapixel telephoto.
10:11You have 2.6 optical zoom here.
10:13You also have a 12 megapixel ultrawide.
10:15It can shoot in 8K 24 and 30 on here, and you do have a zoom up to 30 times on here.
10:24The far-facing camera is a 32 megapixel selfie cam, and you also do have 4K 30 video here.
10:32With the S23, we have a slightly more beeped up camera system.
10:35It's a 200 megapixel standard, 10 megapixel telephoto with three times optical, 10 megapixel
10:41periscope telephoto with 10 times optical, and then a 12 megapixel ultrawide.
10:46This can also shoot in 8K 24 and 30, and then for the selfie cam, it has 4K 60 on it as
10:54well too, and this one can go up to 100 times zoom, of course.
10:58So check out these side-by-side stills and video.
11:01Let me know what you guys think.
11:12I'll see you in the next video.
11:13Bye-bye.
12:41So this is an area where I really like the Xiaomi is the battery department here.
13:04Not so much the screen at one time because they both have 5,000 milliamp hour batteries.
13:08They're both pretty efficient when it comes to battery life, especially for me as a lighter
13:12user here, but I think the battery life is very good on both of these.
13:15So I really wouldn't worry about which one has the best battery life because they're
13:19both very good.
13:21So the thing here is that you do have 120 watt charging with the 14T Pro.
13:26Unfortunately, for whatever reason, they take the charger out of the box, and again, they've
13:30been doing this with Samsung, Google, and everyone else pretty much, but this does charge
13:36much faster at 120 watts, so it is very impressive.
13:39I do have Xiaomi charging bricks, but it is very noticeably different from charging at
13:4645 watts.
13:47It's almost like you're charging for 10 minutes and your phone's almost full.
13:51All right, so basically, I like the charging experience more, and also the wireless charging
13:56is faster.
13:57It has up to 50 watts as well, too, so you can go from, I believe, 0 to 145 minutes doing
14:02the wireless charging.
14:04And Samsung has 45 watts.
14:06You have wireless and reverse wireless charging, but it's only 15 watts.
14:10And yeah, I do like having the reverse wireless charging on the S24.
14:15That is something that the Xiaomi does lack, but it's pretty interesting, guys.
14:20So I think this was a closer comparison here because there's a lot of pros and cons with
14:26these two phones here, but be sure to let me know what you guys think.
14:30Which phone would you guys buy?
14:31And I'll catch you guys in the next one.
