00:00Alright guys, today we got the Xiaomi 14T Pro to the S24 Ultra as requested.
00:06So now that Xiaomi basically upped the price, we got to compare it to one of the best phones
00:10on the market right now.
00:12You can actually get a 256GB S24 Ultra brand new for $960 right now.
00:18So you know, which phone do you buy?
00:21Is there any advantages to getting the 14T Pro?
00:25And this phone, it's close to $900 USD, it converted to I think $870.
00:31So it's up there.
00:32So let's go ahead and dive in and see what it's all about here.
00:37Hardware wise, a lot of people were getting on Xiaomi for the design.
00:41The design guys, it looks better in person.
00:43It's one of those phones that you got to kind of see in person.
00:46It does not look, you know, that bad.
00:48When I saw it, when I saw it on the renders, I was like eh, but it does look, it looks
00:53pretty clean in real life.
00:55Alright, so two really good designs on both of these phones.
00:59The Xiaomi is definitely a little bit more comfortable.
01:02The S24 is a boxier phone, so they've really done a lot to make this phone a little bit
01:07more comfortable, but you know, it's still sharp on the edges.
01:11This one is not, it kind of, it doesn't kind of poke into the palm a little bit.
01:14So it's something that I do like here.
01:17Both phones have a matte finish on here, but you kind of can see smudges easier than you
01:22can on the S24, something that I noticed.
01:25But both glass and metal phones, the S24 of course has the titanium design on here.
01:31As far as the button layouts here, there you go, nothing really going on.
01:38And then of course with the S, the Galaxy S24, you've got the built in S Pen, which
01:45is awesome if you are a digital artist.
01:48This thing is extremely accurate guys.
01:51It is crazy accurate.
01:53You can do really amazing stuff on here if you check out like the artist on YouTube.
01:58And they also have a bunch of little features on here that you can do as well with the S
02:03Pen, so definitely a handy tool as well.
02:08They're both IP68 dust and water resistant as well.
02:11Let's see which phone is actually bigger.
02:13Yeah, the S24, you can see it's a little bit bigger.
02:17Alright, so let's talk about the displays here.
02:20So, the S24 Ultra has a 6.8 inch display, it's dynamic LTPO AMOLED, it's 120Hz, max
02:27brightness at 2600 nits.
02:30We also do have a full 1440p resolution with 505 for the PPI.
02:36The 14T Pro has a 6.67 inch display, so it's a little bit smaller.
02:42And then this phone also has a 1220 by 2712 resolution and it's 446 for the PPI.
02:49Now this one is 144Hz as well and you also do have HDR10+.
02:53But this one gets up to 4000 nits peak brightness, so it's a very, very bright display.
02:58I'm going to go ahead and take it outside, so I'll upload it short for you guys so you
03:02guys can see what that looks like when it's actually sunny outside.
03:06But two very good displays.
03:08I think the Samsung panel just looks better.
03:10The colors are a little bit more vibrant for me and I just think the overall bezels are
03:15a little bit slimmer as well, it's just a little bit more aesthetically pleasing.
03:19And I do like the more squared off display here.
03:23So overall, you know, there's things to like about the Xiaomi display, it's a little bit
03:27brighter, you have a higher hertz as well too.
03:33But yeah, both very good displays, but I still think I would take the Samsung display.
03:37I just like the way it looks and overall for this price, it just looks a little bit more
03:41premium to me.
03:42Alright, let's talk about the chipset.
03:44Both running Android 14, One UI, Hyper OS.
03:47We got the Dimensity 9300 processor, 9300 plus processor.
03:52And then we also do have, on this model is a terabyte and then 12 gigs of RAM.
03:57With the S24, we have the Snapdragon 8Gen 3 processor here.
04:01And then we also have 12 gigs of RAM and then this model is 512 gigabytes.
04:05So as you can see, the 8Gen 3 is going to do a little bit better here with the scores
04:10that I ran, but I think my score should be a little bit higher, I've seen people a little
04:15bit higher scores on the Xiaomi, but I ran it twice and this is the score that I got.
04:23But as far as the speed and overall animations, I think both of these phones are really, really
04:29solid in terms of speed.
04:31I think they're both really fast.
04:35Animations wise, everything feels really, really smooth here.
04:41Google Earth.
04:51So you guys can see they're pretty much neck and neck with each other.
04:54And like I said, I don't really have a lot of hiccups with these devices at all actually.
04:59So if we run the Steel Nomad Lite test, you can see pretty similar in scores and FPS as
05:06well too.
05:07Battery, we went from 50 to 49 on the S24, 37 to 39.
05:14And then on the Xiaomi, we went 28, 27, 36 to 37, 8 to 18 FPS.
05:22And then we have 9 to 14 FPS.
05:25So let's talk about the gaming experience here.
05:28Both these phones do a fantastic job gaming.
05:31We can see we're at ultra extreme for PUBG.
05:34One of the things that I was looking for if the Dimensity processor was going to heat
05:38up, but this thing stays relatively cool.
05:41It's a pretty efficient chipset.
05:43So I'm actually pretty impressed with this processor here.
05:47But for the most part, the Xiaomi does a great job with gaming as well.
05:52So there's really no issue.
05:54Very, very smooth.
05:55Of course, the Snapdragon 8Gen 3 is going to do a fantastic job as well.
05:59We can play again at the same settings.
06:02So gaming, they pretty much feel the same for the most part.
06:09Really don't have an issue with it.
06:10The 8Gen 3 does a pretty good job.
06:12Samsung has pretty much nailed it when it comes to cooling on this device.
06:17It doesn't really heat up like the infamous S22.
06:21Let's check out the speakers at max volume.
06:23We'll start with the Xiaomi.
06:32So, not only does the S24 just sound a lot better, it is also louder as well.
07:00It's just an overall better speaker than the Xiaomi.
07:03The Xiaomi does not sound bad, but this speaker just sounds louder.
07:07It sounds more crisp.
07:08So it just sounds like a more expensive speaker if you want to really keep it real.
07:14And then also, you do have the optical fingerprint sensor on the Xiaomi, which works really well.
07:19I don't really have an issue with this one.
07:22Now, the thing about the optical ones is that if you do like a light press, it's not going
07:27to work.
07:28With the S24 here, since it is the ultrasonic, you can kind of lightly tap these and it'll
07:36work.
07:37That's the only difference, but to me, this is not like a big deal.
07:40Let's talk about the cameras here.
07:42So, the S24 does have a 200 megapixel standard, 10 megapixel telephoto, and then you also
07:49have three times optical, 50 megapixel periscope telephoto, five times optical with a 12 megapixel
07:55ultrawide.
07:56You also have 8K30 video with a 12 megapixel selfie that shoots in 4K60.
08:01Now, the 14T Pro has a 50 megapixel standard, 50 megapixel telephoto, 2.6 optical zoom,
08:09and then a 12 megapixel ultrawide.
08:11This one can also shoot in 8K30 with a 32 megapixel selfie that shoots in 4K30.
