00:00What's up guys we are back with another comparison and I do want to give you guys an update. We do
00:04have the Poco F5 coming which was highly requested. In the Galaxy Flip 5 is another phone that I'm
00:11going to pick up. Be sure to drop any phones you want to see in the channel but for right now we
00:16do have the S20 Ultra and the S21 Plus. This is a very good comparison that someone in the comments
00:24brought to my attention and for good reasons because these phones are actually the same price
00:29but you actually get uh there's quite a big difference here in terms of the pros and cons.
00:34All right so what's interesting about both these phones right off the bat is you basically can get
00:39them for about the same price uh in the same condition basically very good condition you can
00:45get it for around 250 to 300 bucks and like I said really really good condition uh for the most part
00:53so virtually you know pretty much the same price if you shop around on eBay, Amazon. All right so
00:58let's hit on the uh hardware first here um obviously the S21 Plus is going to have a more
01:04up-to-date design and then the S20 Plus and as far as the um size here they're almost kind of
01:11the same size in terms of height and in terms of weight the S21 S20 Ultra is definitely a little
01:20bit heavier and um I do like the matte finish on the S21 Plus and you also have IP68 dust and water
01:28resistant on both of these but there is a big hardware difference the S20 Ultra does have SD
01:33card support which the S21 Plus does lack um so that's definitely one thing to take into consideration
01:40for you guys who download a lot of content in expandable storage is something that's really
01:45important to you you definitely are going to you know want to consider that. Also the display
01:51situation is also a little bit different here so the S20 does have the you know technically
01:57the better display it is a 1440p display it's a slightly bigger display as you guys can see at 6.9
02:04inches as well too and they both have that sort of curved shape that fits really well in the palm
02:09something that I really like about uh these phones um but it's 1440p but the catch is that
02:15it can only run 120 hertz at the 1080p and it's 511 for the PPI and you know dynamic amoled HDR
02:2410 plus 1400 nits peak brightness um so basically you're going to be running the S21 Plus at 1080p
02:32um 120 hertz 1300 nits peak brightness 394 for the PPI and there's a 6.7 inch display so again
02:41slightly smaller display so basically the S20 Ultra does have the better display but you can't
02:47really enjoy the S20 Ultra's display in 1440p you're basically going to be running it at the
02:52same resolution that you would run it on the Galaxy S21 Plus which is 1080p um but there is
02:59one thing about the S20 you know Ultra is that it does have a slightly brighter display in direct
03:05sunlight um but I don't think that might not be enough so like I said the display uh factor here
03:11is not really that big of a difference since the S20 Ultra can't really run it at you know 1440p
03:17you basically are running the same display essentially. Alright let's talk about these
03:22specs a little bit more on the S20 Ultra we do have the snapdragon 865 chip we also have SD card
03:29support 128 gigs of internal storage 12 gigs of ram the S21 Plus it does have the snapdragon 888
03:36chip so it does have a newer chip set in it and then you also have no SD card support 128 gigs of
03:43internal storage and 8 gigs of ram and you can see the S21 Plus does beat the S20 Ultra of course in
03:49benchmarks as you can see here um definitely in the single core um but in terms of real world use
03:56here you're not going to notice that big of a difference when it comes to the overall speed
04:02of these two phones they pretty much feel identical in terms of speed um yes the S21 is definitely
04:10going to beat the S20 Ultra in terms of you know benchmarks and stuff like that but you won't
04:17really feel that big of a difference and I would say that the snapdragon 865 chip is a little bit
04:22more well optimized uh for especially for gaming and stuff like that so I wouldn't say that it's
04:29I wouldn't say that's a big deciding factor when it comes to buying uh these two phones so if you're
04:36looking if you're thinking that you're going to get a much much faster phone that's not really
04:40the case here. Alright guys and here is what I was talking about about the gaming experience here
04:46and the 865 chip in my opinion is definitely way cooler than the uh
04:54it's 888 but you can see we're able to play at you know 90 frames on PUBG and a few other games
05:01as well too which we can't really do on the snapdragon 888 phone um so yeah I like the
05:07if you're a gamer I honestly would pick up the S20 Ultra just because you just have those better
05:12optimized uh settings um this plays fine though the the 888 does do a really good job it's just
05:18that not as well optimized especially for games like PUBG even Call of Duty Mobile plays on a
05:23higher setting fortnite um so the 865 chip still does a fantastic job with gaming I know it's kind
05:30of confusing um that the older chip would be better optimized but it is um yeah so when it
05:37comes to overall speed and performance um in gaming overall I prefer the 865 just because
05:43it's cooler and it's better optimized. Alright guys this is a huge deciding factor I think for a
05:48lot of people the S20 Ultra will not get Android 14 or you know One UI 6 uh its last update was
05:56Android 13, One UI 5.1 is currently getting security patches the S21 plus is going to get
06:02Android 14 and 15 and then it'll get security patches after that so basically you have a longer
06:09lifespan with the S21 plus um so that's definitely something to take into consideration for you guys
06:16who are you know big software guys who really care about you know One UI 6 and 7 the new features
06:22that Samsung introduces uh so definitely keep that in mind as well too when making this purchasing
06:27decision. Both these phones have stereo speakers let's go ahead and max them out.
06:58So
07:06you do have a little bit more bass with the S20 Ultra but they sound pretty much similar um I
07:12would give the slight edge to the S20 Ultra for having just a little bit fuller sound uh but
07:18that's pretty much it it's not like a massive difference so I think speakers are almost a tie
07:22but I would give it to the S20 Ultra there when it comes to the overall sound uh the in-display
07:28fingerprint sensors on both of these uh work really well so no issues here um they pretty
07:34much feel the same in terms of speed so that's really nice and you basically have all of the
07:41same essential features on here um the S21 S20 Ultra has basically everything that the S21 plus
07:47has Samsung desktop support secure folders wireless charging basically everything the
07:53only thing you won't have is if Samsung introduces new stuff with like One UI 6 and 7 then obviously
08:00you won't have that right um but it's not anything like dramatically different between these two as
08:06far as software wise. Alright so let's talk about the cameras because there is a bit of a difference
08:10here so the S20 Ultra it does have the 108 megapixel camera on here so you'll get some
08:17really detailed shots if you do turn that mode on it also has the 100x zoom on here as well too
08:24you also have the 48 megapixel periscope telephoto 4x optical zoom 10x hybrid zoom
08:2912 megapixel ultra wide 0.3 depth sensor shoots an 8k 24 40 megapixel camera on here shoots in
08:364k 60 so as you can see just a more impressive camera when it comes to the specs and basically
08:43the overall zoom quality you just get better zoom on the S20 Ultra. The S21 plus has a 12 megapixel
08:49standard 64 megapixel telephoto it has up to 1.1 optical zoom and 3x hybrid zoom 12 megapixel
08:57ultra wide shoots an 8k 24 10 megapixel selfie shoots in 4k 60 so the overall specs not as good
09:06so basically the S20 Ultra shoots higher resolution and also basically better zoom quality
09:13right but when it comes to overall stills be sure to let me know what you guys thought of the just
09:17side-by-side stills do you see a big difference in terms of image quality
09:36so
10:06so
10:21it's a video on the S20 Ultra here
10:24and what you guys think is a video on the S21 plus
10:36now this one I do have the option to do my three times and my 0.5
10:46all right so when it comes to the battery experience with these two phones there is
10:50really not that big of a difference the S21 plus has a 4800 milliamp hour battery the S20 has a
10:565000 milliamp hour battery the good thing though is that the S20 charges faster at 45 watts compared
11:03to the 25 watts on the S21 they both have wireless and reverse wireless charging as well too and they
11:10basically drain the same they're basically all day phones easily get six hours screen on time
11:16these phones so really you know it really comes down to I think the software and also the cameras
11:23right if you take a lot of zoom shots if you don't take a lot of zoom shots and you don't care about
11:28the higher res cameras on the S20 Ultra then you know I would probably get the S21 plus for the
11:37longer software support but I think if you game a lot I think you actually be surprised and really
11:42happy with the performance of the S20 Ultra it doesn't get as high better optimized and also it
11:49is a bigger phone as well too I think you'll notice it definitely but yeah let me know what
11:56you guys think and I'll catch you guys in the next one.
