00:00He's a servant to nobility, not worth missing. Here's a look at the brand new
00:04caustic plastic Tesshira Mifune Samurai.
00:09Step into the world of cinematic greatness with our 1-6th scale Tesshira Mifune action
00:33figure. Paying homage to the iconic Japanese actor, this collectible piece captures the
00:37essence of Mifune's legendary performances in unparalleled detail. Standing at 12 inches tall,
00:42this finely intricately sculpted action figure brings to life the charisma and intensity of
00:46Tesshira Mifune, known for his unforgettable roles in classic films like The 7th Samurai,
00:51Yojimbo, and Red Sun. Every inch of this figure is a testament to the craftsmanship and dedication
00:55employed in recreating Mifune's distinctive features, from his facial expressions to the
01:00meticulous replication of signature costumes. Designed with possibility in mind, the Tesshira
01:05Mifune action figure ensures dynamic and realistic movements by allowing with multiple
01:09interchangeable parts and the wide range of original real metal accessories, including with
01:14this figure a variety of action-packed positions to recreate the most famous scenes from his most
01:19celebrated films. Oh, young folk, if you fear death, die now. Having died once, you won't die
01:25again. If you've been dying though to get your hands on Tesshira Mifune, whether it be The Samurai
01:29or the earlier looked at Ronin, they are currently right now on pre-orders on caustic plastic site.
01:33They're selling either separately for 295 pounds, or if you'd like to get them together,
01:38The Samurai and the Ronin are selling for 570 euros. I can put the links down below in the
01:43video description if you guys are interested. I'd also like to send a big thank you to the
01:46folks over at Caustic Plastic. They were kind enough though to provide the Tesshira Mifune
01:50Samurai that we're going to be looking at in this review and the earlier looked at Tesshira Mifune
01:54Ronin. With that all being said though, let's take the tape measure and see how tall the figure
01:57stands. I would imagine though he's going to stand about the same as the Ronin, and in fact he is.
02:0211 and 3 quarts of an inch in height, where Mifune is going to stand at about 29 centimeters tall.
02:09I guess before we get things underway, the first thing I did want to tell you guys though is
02:12included inside the box is like with the Ronin, you get yourself two separate cards.
02:16First one, caustic plastic. The products are hand painted and assembled. As a result,
02:19there may be a slight variation between individual items, though all variations will
02:23remain within an acceptable range. I did point this out also earlier too, please keep though
02:28this product away from direct sunlight. High temperatures and high humidity to prevent damage
02:32or deterioration. Being again that these are all hand painted, very meticulously hand painted,
02:37especially for the head, you don't want to have direct sunlight possibly fading any one of these
02:41pieces. Also as well included inside the card is Tesshira Mifune 1-6 scale collectible figure,
02:46which I think is pretty much the exact same card as we also got with Ronin. The same though,
02:50cast and crew are still responsible for bringing this thing to life. Let's move that off to the
02:54side. Something also that you may recognize that the fact that this is the exact same display stand
02:58that we also got with Ronin. It's all cast here also in plastic, but you can see there's the
03:03placard there on the front, done in both bronze and gold and similar to the Ronin before. You
03:07can see that the top is sort of a cobblestone walkway here. This is just a flat sticker though,
03:12there's no texturing or anything to it, but like though the Ronin, what it's concealing underneath
03:16is a magnet. I love that first of all, caustic plastic is choosing to use magnets. It makes
03:22displaying these figures so much simpler. You don't have to worry about an obnoxious neck on
03:26the back. You don't have to worry about crimping the waist of any figure that you put on top of it.
03:30It's so much simpler because on the bottom of his sandals there's a magnet built into it that
03:34attaches onto the base and the base as you're seeing right now is very secure. It's never going
03:39to be falling off. The thing though about it is that the magnets seem to be placed here and here
03:43and you notice that right away when you put the figure down. He securely attaches there and then
03:47when you move him sort of again, he attaches right around here. I guess he's got a magnet
03:53right there and a magnet right there. Between those two, he stands perfectly fine. The one
03:59thing though about the figure is that he also comes included with some swords. Slightly though
04:03different are the swords that come included with the Samurai versus what we got with Ronin. First
04:07of all, the figure does come included with a katana. I'm going to bring over the one that we
04:10got here just unsheath it from the Ronin and just to show you guys though that they are exactly the
04:16same blades. These blades by the way are metal. Nice shiny finish on both of these as well. Again,
04:21they don't have a sharp edge to them at all. Well sculpted again for the actual guard. I don't even
04:27think I spent a lot of time showing you guys what the guards actually look like. You can see there
04:30like some really decorative details added to the guard and of course to the hilt as well. The thing
04:35about it though the swords is while these are identical to one another, the other two are not.
04:40What we got included though with the Ronin was the tanto. It was basically a small dagger. What
04:43we get though with the Samurai is a wakasashi sword. It's a little bit shorter though than a
04:48katana so like it's just to bring back the katana you can see the wakasashi sword is a little bit
04:52shorter than that. It's a very like slight smaller version of a regular katana blade. Let's just move
04:57this off to the side because I don't want to get these confused. Like with both of these before,
05:01they also come included with sheaths as well. So of course you get one for the wakasashi so we're
05:05just going to go ahead and sheath that right now and of course we also get as well a sheath for
05:10the katana. You want to make sure of course when you're putting it right in that you're going to
05:13be matching the same curvature and we can just again slide that in place. The only interesting
05:19thing though is like with the Ronin there's also when you look at the front of his kimono there's
05:22a belt loop right here. This is a separate belt from the rest of the outfit so with that though
05:27there's enough space that you can take yourself the sheath and sort of just tuck it underneath
05:32the belt. You want to kind of maybe pull it out just a little bit by your hand. You want to be
05:35careful of course doing this and just slide the sheath in place and you can rinse and repeat.
05:41Obviously though when you take yourself the wakasashi sword we're going to go again do that
05:45just slide that in place. Now you can overlap them obviously. Careful though it should be
05:50made when you're sliding these in place and of course now you can have that displayed along with
05:54the samurai. One thing that's also really cool though about the figure is that he also comes
05:58included with the ingro. Now the ingro is basically a traditional Japanese case for like holding
06:02objects. While it doesn't look like it actually does open up, it works the same way as the water
06:07bottle that came included with the ronin. Basically you get yourself a loop and it doesn't necessarily
06:11hook in place on the side of the kimono. What you do though instead is you basically just kind of
06:15loop it around through. You could also take this and when you loop it through basically feed this
06:22part through so basically you complete the loop. Does that make sense? I hope that makes sense.
06:26So again nice little decorative ingro here. I'll show you guys what that looks like.
06:31My guess is it's probably been cast here first in the bronze and then they went in with the silver
06:35and touched it up. Boy that looks nice though. Let's move those all off to the side and then the
06:39one other thing that comes included with the figure is then he has swappable arms.
06:44Now if you've already watched my review of the ronin you're sort of now familiar with kind of
06:47how this all works. What they've done is instead of actually having swappable arms or swappable
06:52hands they instead give you swappable arms. So when you actually look at the arms themselves
06:57they're completely seamless. So you get like the hand and obviously that's attached to the forearm.
07:02This is by the way more of a softer rubber material but all the pre-poses are done in the
07:07actual full arm rather than have to worry every single time about removing the hands.
07:11I like that in the sense that this makes this look a lot more realistic.
07:15It's seamless and even really to the attention of detail where the arm is bent like this the hand
07:20has been bent you can see it's left behind a crease and they put a little bit of discoloration
07:24there a little bit of more extra red. It looks super realistic though. These arms by the way if
07:30they look somewhat familiar to you they happen to also be the exact same arms that were coming
07:34included with the ronin. So like for example I'm just going to grab the relaxed hand here
07:38the relaxed hand for the ronin. We also get a sword wielding hand which again happens to be
07:43the exact same one from the previous release and as we basically run through this you'll see it's
07:48just a rinse and repeat they're exactly the same arms. I can't really expect them to use different
07:52arms. I mean the fact that the the arms initially for the ronin were so effective anyways why then
07:58start to change them up and have to create brand new molds for them. If you did want to by the way
08:02change out the arms just slide up though the sleeve and I did mention this though when we
08:07looked at the other toshiro. So like this bicep section here is all plastic this part down below
08:13here is more that soft material that rubber material. The only thing that's sort of the dead
08:17giveaway that this isn't quite the same material as this is obviously this is more of a matte finish
08:21this has a little more of a sheen but when it comes to removing the arms you just wiggle the
08:26arm basically back and forth and it easily detaches because again there's a whole lot less
08:30to worry about. I love again that we're using like this kind of material for this you know some people
08:35may not like the idea that the hands aren't removable because when it comes to the articulation
08:39on this figure it has to rely so much more though on the bicep to swivel and not as much for the
08:44hands but just go to pop that off take the hand that you want to then use and all you're really
08:49basically doing is you're taking the peg you're fitting into the hole simple shapes and then just
08:53plug in in place like that super super easy and it still retains all the same levels of
08:57posability you got the double hinge there on the elbow we'll kind of all kind of discuss that more
09:01in a moment. One thing though I have obviously left off this whole time during this review
09:06just kind of sliding everything out of the way here is to bring back in the earlier looked at
09:10Toshiro Mifune. Now this one here obviously is the samurai this one here was the ronin.
09:15I did want to start these reviews where I wanted to look at the ronin first I do actually like
09:20to stubble a little bit more on Toshiro on the original this version of the figure rather than
09:24samurai because they're also using the exact same build of body you could in theory also take off
09:29the head sculpts and swap them around if you wanted to because if you actually look at the
09:33head sculpts here first of all hand painted just an undeniable likeness though to Mifune
09:40but being though the way that they've handled the articulation on this basically you just slide this
09:43off and underneath you basically have yourself like a half like half can shape to it so what
09:48you can do though just take that off if you do end up picking up both of these figures and you
09:54choose down the road by the way there's the differences between the two there's not a lot
09:58different other than obviously the stubble now on this face sideburns and the placement of the hair
10:03seems to be exactly the same whoops now drop the head sculpt in the process pick it up right over
10:07here but if you did don't want to change out the head sculpts just again carefully slide that off
10:11the post put the new head sculpt then in place and if you again want to have a cleaner look for the
10:16ronin you can pull that off i think if you're going to be a ronin though it makes a little bit
10:20more sense that toshiro is going to have more stubble on his face but with the options available
10:24you can certainly swap them out if you want to let's just put them back the way that we found
10:28them so we'll put him back over there and we'll go ahead actually you know what i'm going to keep
10:34him in frame for right now we're going to go ahead and put the head back in place for the samurai
10:37release of him and let's also just unsheath these slide them off put them off to the side here
10:43so the fact for the figure here the thing that the what's interesting though about the samurai is
10:47essentially he is wearing still the black kimono underneath you could though in in theory take
10:51these shoulder pads off completely you just slide them off and you just loop them off i've seen
10:56actually some images though of toshiro where he's actually got one of the shoulders off completely
11:01and it doesn't look like it actually detaches down below here but if you did want to have them
11:05you know one shoulder at least detach you can certainly do that it's underneath though it
11:10basically is somewhat of the similar kimono underneath one thing too is that he has both
11:15the family crests on the on the outer shoulders areas as well and he's also got the mifune crest
11:20underneath there too so by the way though if you didn't want to tuck these back in place
11:25the easiest thing i probably would say is take something that isn't going to be sharp
11:28maybe like a flat-headed screwdriver for example i'm just going to kind of use my hand for right
11:31now that might help just to kind of guide the shoulders back underneath the belt
11:35as for though the rest of the figure being that ken again like they're using a lot of the same
11:40body let's actually just move this guy out of the way for a second we'll kind of bring him back a
11:42little bit later being that they're also using a very similar style of body the kimono is going to
11:47be very similar the only thing that's treated differently though here obviously is the fact
11:51he's also got himself i think it's the blue karejino which is basically like the the sleeveless
11:57top that he wears so he's got the shoulder pads it's kind of more of a greenish gray than anything
12:02gray than anything else you got the family crest there featured on the front i actually do like the
12:06pattern work that they gave this specific this particular material it also carries off down
12:10below here as well now the pants themselves the hakama pants are a very similar style of pleats
12:16the the ronin that we've already looked at before obviously the pattern now carries over the same
12:20color scheme as the shoulder pads but i do really like the shoulders and i do really like the
12:24coloring that they chose here if we were to kind of lift things up right now for the legs just to
12:29show you guys what it looks like underneath this is though something i did mention when we looked
12:32at the ronin he seems to have like a little bit of extra padding here but actually it doesn't seem
12:36as much though as the ronin very muscular legs obviously underneath and in this case he actually
12:41has now white sandals or white socks with sandals rather than the black we looked at before for the
12:46articulation though for the samurai release of kishiro it's going to stick pretty much with the
12:50exact same format the head's going to be on a ball joint so it allows the head to rotate all the way
12:54around and it looks down and i did mention this when we looked at ronins i found like the head
13:01looks a lot lower than i was expecting the head can also look up and even to look up that's quite
13:06a high reach head can also tilt back and forth also as well and we kind of get underneath the
13:10kimono a good range of motion that you can get with a rotational abdomen joint here the only
13:16thing about this though is now that once i've pulled out the shoulders yeah i'm gonna have to
13:19get myself you know just like a flat-headed screwdriver or something just to kind of help
13:22tuck the shoulders back in place the arms easily go out at a t-post no issue is going to be there
13:27at all you can bring the arms forward and you can bring the arms back so if you want to have
13:31this guy swinging his swords it's a very easy thing to pull off just kind of tuck that back
13:36in there as for the arms again like i'm just going to roll things up right now so his bicep is going
13:41to be on a swivel so while he loses something here he still manages to gain the articulation
13:46here in the bicep so the bicep is going to be doing a lot more work because they the wrist
13:50obviously can't the figure does still retain a double hinge on the elbow no articulation here
13:55again for the hands because again it's going to be a seamless to the rest of the arms the legs
13:59though split out and about that far do the legs go about that far so almost like a full splits
14:04you can take the legs and move forward you can move them back and just again to kind of bring
14:08this up a little bit there's a swivel at the top of the thigh a double hinge on the knee and again
14:13for mufune while unfortunately though like the sock and sandal pretty self-contained in plastic
14:19you get a little bit of range where you can move those back and forth you can also move them up and
14:22down so the figure is still decently posed he's certainly more posed up top than he is down below
14:27again we're just going to fix things up here with the shoulders hindsight though i probably should
14:31have not pulled off the shoulders but though in this review i did want to show you guys though
14:34that if you wanted to you could unrobe at least the shoulders if you wanted to still in the end
14:40though i did one of the reasons why i wanted to have these looked at in separate videos just
14:44because i didn't want to spend a little bit more time talking about them and not just say well it's
14:47a set of two you can either buy the set of two you can buy them individually if you did only want
14:51to choose to buy one of them sold separately uh we'll buy one of them individually they are at
14:56least sold separately the ronin i think is still my favorite even though there's definitely a lot
15:01more colors happening here for the mufune's samurai and again if you kind of were to strip down the
15:05samurai underneath like the outfit samurai underneath basically what you are still kind
15:10of treated to is a very similar style of outfit as what the ronin originally had the thing i do
15:14really like is again the options to swap out the arms which again there needs to be more companies
15:19that are doing this a much cleaner more realistic look having the hands being attached the rest of
15:24the forearms yes it does unfortunately limit some of the opposability so of course you can't rotate
15:28these independently but with still the swiveling happening here in the biceps it's still something
15:32you can easily pull off if you want to get this guy in some pretty cool poses i do also like the
15:36fact that you can use the options to swap the heads around although the stubble look the unshaven
15:41look works a lot more better i think for the ronin than it does for the samurai so if you'd
15:46like to get your hands on toshiro mufune whether it be as the samurai or as the ronin caustic
15:51plastic right now has pre-orders available for both selling right now for 295 pounds if you'd
15:56like though to get them collectively they are also selling the double pack for 570 euros for that
16:02you're getting hand-painted pieces meticulously detailed and some of the things i really do like
16:07that caustic plastic incorporated to the release here of toshiro is first of all a magnetized
16:12display base i don't know how often i've gotten frustrated with six scale figures where like the
16:16clip for the waist doesn't fit around the waist and a lot of times it ends up crimping the material
16:21or sometimes it's way too loose and the figure never seems to stay on it straight with at least
16:26going the route of magnets granted though the magnets are in very dedicated places on the
16:30display stands but at least ensures that the figures are never going to fall off of them
16:35something also that i have to credit caustic plastic for doing too
16:38is the seamless approach that he went with when it comes to the hands to the arms
16:42nothing breaks the look of realism than having a very visible hand joint when it's attached to the
16:47forearm by keeping it seamless like this it makes toshiro look even more realistic when you have
16:52this guy on your shelf again these guys are currently on pre-order but don't worry i can
16:57provide certainly links down below in the video description i'd also like to thank the folks over
17:01caustic plastic that came through and provided not only toshiro mifune as the samurai but also
17:06mifune earlier when we looked at him as the ronin which of the two do you guys think is the better
17:10looking figure let me know down below in the comment section if you guys also did enjoy this
17:14video you can do it assault and throw it a like you guys want to stick around for more so i hope
17:19so you can hit the subscribe yeah yeah you can turn on the bell and of course you can always
17:24come back as always thanks for watching see you guys next time
