00:02 All right.

00:13 What's on everyone?
00:22 Taylor Kyle's here for CNS Media bringing you another episode of
00:25 Pat's Daily brought to you by our friends at FanDuel Sportsbooks.
00:29 More from them later.
00:30 But first, we're entering a very pivotal offseason.
00:33 Already in a pivotal offseason for the Patriots.
00:36 They're building out their staff.
00:37 We've been covering that for a while.
00:39 But the time is quickly approaching for them to start building out their roster.
00:43 And more important, I would say, quarterback is up there, but
00:45 right under there, I think, for them is the offensive line, specifically tackles.
00:49 So to get the best insight on the Patriots offensive line,
00:53 I've listed the help of Brandon Thorne, friend of the channel.
00:57 Brandon, thank you so much for coming on.
00:59 You do amazing work.
01:00 I was just telling you before the show about how heavily I lean on your work when
01:03 it comes to scouting these guys.
01:05 You do a great job at Bleacher Report with Trench Warfare.
01:08 Sign up also if you aren't already.
01:10 But Brandon, how are you doing?
01:12 And give me your thoughts on the Super Bowl also from more of a trenches
01:16 perspective, because this was a really big defensive battle and
01:19 it felt like a big one that was decided by the big boys down there.
01:23 >> Yeah, well, thanks for having me again.
01:25 I always appreciate coming on.
01:26 And yeah, man, I mean, as far as the Super Bowl,
01:29 I definitely think there were a few standout things in terms of the trenches.
01:33 And I think one of the more underrated ones,
01:36 now that they lost is just the 49ers front.
01:39 I just thought their defensive front was awesome in that game,
01:42 specifically Nick Bosa.
01:43 I think he was charted 9, 10 pressures or whatever.
01:48 So he was affecting the game pretty much throughout.
01:52 But also Javon Hargrave had moments.
01:54 Eric Armstead, even Chase Young, he had that high quality sack on
01:58 Donovan Smith where he hit him with the swipe and beat him clean.
02:03 He also had another couple of good rushes.
02:05 So I mean, I feel like 49ers front definitely did their part in that game.
02:09 And that was one of the bigger mismatches of the game going in,
02:14 especially with Joe Tooney out of the game.
02:17 And the Chiefs tackles not necessarily being much more than average-ish.
02:22 So that was to be expected, but they definitely lived up to what people
02:27 thought that they could do.
02:29 That was as good as they've played in weeks.
02:33 So that stood out for sure.
02:35 And then of course, Chris Jones was Chris Jones, just more of the same there.
02:42 He had a mismatch against everybody not named Trent Williams.
02:45 So he definitely took advantage in some key moments.
02:50 I think Mike Pennell, just what he did against the run.
02:52 There's that clip on Twitter of him stuffing Trent Williams on that block,
02:58 which is impressive.
02:58 But he's always just been kind of a stout, big, strong run defender.
03:02 Kind of like an assassin for hire kind of guy,
03:08 like a two down guy that teams just bring in to stop the run.
03:12 And like Jonathan Hankins or somebody like that, he's just one of those kind of guys.
03:18 So he definitely, I thought, had a really strong game as well.
03:21 So yeah, I mean, aside from that, I thought Trent Williams was awesome as well.
03:27 Just overall, he was just really good, impactful blocks in the run game.
03:31 Yeah, I mean, other than that, Creed Humphrey would probably be the last guy
03:36 that really stood out to me.
03:38 I thought he had a great game as well, so.
03:40 >> Yeah, it was the guys with the big names are making some big plays in this
03:43 game pretty much.
03:44 And especially, you mentioned Mike Pennell.
03:46 He had a cup of tea with the Patriots.
03:47 I remember I was really disappointed when they separated with him.
03:50 I was like, I don't know.
03:51 I know nose tackle isn't in vogue exactly, but this dude, he has a job and
03:56 he does it very consistently.
03:58 We've seen that, now he's got a couple rings to show for it.
04:00 So don't want the whole thing to happen with David Andrews when he was off
04:04 the Patriots, but overall, good for him.
04:06 That was a long time ago.
04:07 I think it's about time we all move on emotionally.
04:09 All right, now, moving on in the show.
04:12 So for the Patriots, new offensive coordinator Alex Van Pelt comes from that
04:16 Kevin Stefanski offense where they ask a lot of their offensive linemen when it
04:20 comes to pulling and really being athletic.
04:22 And this is a Patriots offensive line where Trent Brown and
04:25 Michael Wendler are gonna be free agents.
04:27 And you're kind of assuming that you got David Andrews, Sidney So, and
04:30 then Cole Strange inside, but even they've got some question marks.
04:33 So before we kind of get into the more position specifics,
04:36 what do you think about this Alex Van Pelt scheme,
04:38 kind of from a Kevin Stefanski perspective?
04:41 And what they might be asking of the Patriots in the trenches this season?
04:45 >> Yeah, I mean, I think it's gonna be multiple more than anything,
04:48 just that's kind of Kevin Stefanski's background.
04:51 He's been on different coaching staffs over the course of his career and
04:54 has kind of adopted a lot of different schemes over that period of time.
05:00 And when you watch the Browns over the last few years,
05:04 I know Callahan kind of directs that run game.
05:07 So it's kind of hard to distinguish that sometimes when the offensive line coach
05:12 is designing the run game compared to the head coach.
05:14 Of course, it's all collaborative, but as with most schemes in the NFL,
05:18 I think it's gonna have a lot of different elements of zone and gap.
05:23 If I had to pick one, it'd probably be a little bit more zone based,
05:27 more than anything, inside, outside zone, pin pole,
05:30 probably be in there, things like that.
05:32 And then every team is gonna have some power counter,
05:37 maybe throw in some traps, just some off ball kind of stuff.
05:43 Just to throw curveballs out there for defenses to have to prepare for.
05:48 But yeah, I would say zone based and
05:50 then multiple is kind of the overarching theme in the run game.
05:54 That's probably what I would expect to see.
05:57 >> Yeah, I know their scheme is a lot of wide zone.
06:00 I know I heard Alex Van Pelt say that was kind of the backbone of what they like to
06:03 do, but we're surprised to see that only the Ravens run more gap schemes with
06:06 pullers.
06:07 So again, as a lot of their guys in that perspective.
06:10 I also saw that you tweeted about Scott Peters,
06:12 their new offensive line coach, obviously learned under Callahan.
06:15 I was wondering if you could get some insight on him,
06:17 because he's a guy that not a lot of people know about, but
06:19 has a very interesting background.
06:21 >> Yeah, so MMA background, I think he won a world championship or
06:25 something in Jiu Jitsu.
06:27 And he also was a part of an organization called Tip of the Spear, I believe.
06:33 When I was writing for USA Football years ago, they had an affiliation with that.
06:37 And I got to get access to a lot of those coaching clinics that
06:42 Coach Peters put together at the time.
06:45 And his emphasis was keeping your head out of the block and
06:50 utilizing your length, playing long.
06:53 A lot of these kind of coaching cues that a lot of people have adopted over the years.
06:59 And it's kind of permeated its way throughout the NFL.
07:03 I know one of his pupils back in the day was Brandon Scherf,
07:08 the commander's Redskins now, Jaguars offensive lineman.
07:12 He would probably speak very highly of Coach Peters,
07:15 because he adopted a lot of those principles into his game.
07:19 There's a couple other guys, but he was the biggest name guy I remember that
07:22 Coach Peters had an impact on with that approach.
07:26 But yeah, he really understands angles, leverage really well.
07:31 And he knows how to convey that to people at a high level.
07:36 So it's cool that he can merge MMA and
07:39 that into the offensive line world in the way that he does.
07:44 I spoke with him for a story years ago on Wyatt Teller,
07:48 who he had a big impact on developing with the Browns.
07:51 So I mean, he's been a part of obviously a coaching staff with maybe
07:57 the greatest offensive line coach of all time outside of Skarniecki.
08:03 Those two are probably two of the best ever, and Peters has come up under him.
08:08 And he's had his fingerprints on a lot of really good players and
08:13 their developments.
08:14 So I mean, I'd be excited if I was a Patriots fan, honestly, to get him.
08:19 And I know it's his first time having a room, but being the head guy.
08:22 But I mean, I think if you're gonna hire an assistant and
08:26 it'd be the first time guy, he's as excited as I'd be about anybody, probably.
08:31 >> Yeah, watching videos of him, I'm like,
08:33 this seems like a guy who can command a room.
08:36 I don't think there's gonna be any question about that.
08:37 But obviously, we'll see once he actually gets going.
08:40 >> Yeah. >> Exactly,
08:41 that's the actual hands on experience.
08:43 Also, kind of putting you on the spot here, I wonder if you know much about
08:46 Robert Kugler, who's now their assistant offensive line coach.
08:49 I know he spent time with the Panthers, was briefly on the Bills,
08:52 was more had success in college.
08:54 I saw some reports that were saying that he's someone who people could see as
08:57 a potential head coach down the line.
08:59 Just someone I feel like publicly, not a lot is known about.
09:02 So if there's anything you could add maybe on him, I'd love it.
09:05 But if not, again, I'm putting you on the spot, so no worries.
09:07 >> I honestly don't know a lot about him.
09:09 So I can't really give you a whole lot there, man, honestly.
09:14 >> All good, all good, I'm putting you on the spot.
09:15 All right, before we move on though, all good, all good.
09:18 Before we move on and get to, like I said, the position specifics,
09:22 where we get into tackle and tier offensive line, all that good stuff.
09:25 Quick word from our friends at FanDuel, we'll be back.

09:59 Make every moment more with FanDuel, an official sports book partner of the NFL.
10:04 >> All right, so with these positions,
10:06 the first thing I wanna talk about is tackle.
10:09 Cuz the Patriots, both their bookends from last season,
10:11 are about to hit the market, at least as far as we know now.
10:14 So Trent Brown, obviously started off really well as a PFF darling last season.
10:19 Then he got rolled up on against Buffalo and
10:20 just had to deal with a bunch of injuries for the rest of the season.
10:23 Mike and Wendy switched over, I think it was around week seven.
10:25 It was in that same Bills game.
10:27 Had a lot of success at right tackle as he's had throughout his career.
10:30 Although I think he's more of a guard.
10:32 Kind of interesting how it's gonna fit in this scheme.
10:34 But how do you think the Patriots should address the offensive tackle position?
10:37 Do you think they'd be better off resigning both guys and
10:40 maintaining some continuity there?
10:42 Or do you think maybe they should move on when you do a different position,
10:45 move on from Trent Brown?
10:46 What are kind of your thoughts?
10:49 >> Yeah, I mean, this one's tough.
10:52 I kind of lean towards at least keeping one of them just because it's so
10:56 hard to find tackle.
10:57 Almost every team in the league is always kind of looking,
11:02 surveying the tackle market, whether free agency or the draft.
11:06 Typically, you're not gonna find a really good tackle in free agency.
11:09 And if you're gonna find one in the draft, it's gonna be in the first round.
11:14 Of course, there's exceptions and there's ways to kind of patch it together,
11:19 especially if you have a really good offensive line coach.
11:21 And if your scheme is offensive line friendly, a lot of RPOs play action,
11:26 kind of a run first approach, that kind of thing that can help mitigate and
11:30 hide your lack of talent at the position.
11:34 So all that being said, I mean, I would just say go with the younger guy and
11:40 Mike and Juanu and give you some flexibility as well to play inside and
11:45 out, which Trent Brown doesn't really bring there.
11:49 Although he does bring flexibility on the side, but
11:51 in terms of what side he can play.
11:53 But yeah, I mean, I would probably just lean on Juanu.
11:55 It's gonna be more expensive probably as well.
11:57 So that's double edged sword almost every angle you take here.
12:02 But yeah, that's probably where I would go and
12:04 then just try to address the opposite tackle position in the draft,
12:09 which I think that they're well positioned to do.
12:12 Whether, I don't know if they would take one where they are now in the draft or
12:17 if they trade down or trade back up or anything like that.
12:20 But this class has a lot of tackle options that will probably trickle into
12:25 round two as well.
12:26 So yeah, I mean, I definitely think this is a good class to need a tackle.
12:32 >> But we're gonna get into more of their kind of offseason options and
12:35 things like that.
12:35 Before we do, I wanna touch on the interior as well.
12:38 Because it's a spot where on paper, they've got bodies.
12:41 They've got City, so who I thought looked really good,
12:44 especially considering they tried to start him out at tackle before they were like,
12:47 all right, no, he's really a guard.
12:48 Cole Strange really started to look better before he had a second knee injury,
12:52 which is the big thing here,
12:53 where you really don't even know what his availability is gonna be like.
12:57 You've got Antonio Maffi behind them.
12:59 You've got Jake Andrews who showed that he could play a little bit of guard later
13:02 in the season.
13:03 But do you think the Patriots should still address the spot?
13:05 I would love to know what you thought about City's first season.
13:08 And also if Cole Strange maybe has some significant time,
13:11 if that's somewhere you think they should either go outside and
13:15 bring someone in, considering this new scheme.
13:17 Or if you think Jake Andrews and Antonio Maffi, with the help of someone like
13:21 a Scott Peters could maybe be able to fill that void.
13:24 >> Yeah, I mean, this is another, if we're looking at it collectively as a trio,
13:29 I mean, I definitely think that you would wanna bring at least one guy in here,
13:35 specifically a guard.
13:36 Assuming the Andrews, David and Jake could kinda handle that and
13:42 maybe offer some guard there with Jake, potentially, I don't know.
13:47 But yeah, I mean, just because throwing the injury in there with Cole Strange,
13:52 that definitely throws a wrench into things.
13:54 And I don't know, I have no insight on that.
13:57 But if he is gonna miss time, you definitely wanna have another option
14:02 outside of Maffi to play guard, especially in this system.
14:05 If you are gonna be running a lot of wide zone and asking your guys to move laterally
14:11 and get on the move quite a bit, I just think you would want another guy in there.
14:18 So yeah, I mean, I would be shocked if they don't address
14:22 the offensive line multiple times this offseason.
14:25 Assuming say they just re-sign one of those tackles, like we said,
14:31 I would expect a tackle and a guard to be added in the first couple rounds and
14:37 or via free agency.
14:40 So yeah, I would assume that that would be the case,
14:43 especially having a new offensive line coach.
14:45 I'm sure, I don't know how he feels about any of these guys, but
14:49 I'm sure he would want to kinda select or have a say in getting somebody.
14:55 Even if it is a depth piece that maybe he can get his hands on and develop,
15:00 something like that.
15:01 So I would assume they're gonna give him some say there.
15:06 And if he isn't totally sold on all these guys,
15:10 then giving him somebody to kinda work with on his own.
15:14 So yeah, I mean, I would expect definitely a guard and
15:19 a tackle to be added with a fairly high compensation and
15:24 or draft pick to this team.
15:27 >> Absolutely agree.
15:28 And kinda bringing Mike and Winu back into the conversation,
15:31 just from watching the Browns,
15:32 it seems like their tackles don't really pull that much.
15:34 It's really more the center and the guard who are asked to get out there.
15:37 So with that in mind, I kinda came into it before Van Pelt was hired really and
15:42 thought, all right, and Winu, you wanna bring him back,
15:43 he's probably best as a guard.
15:45 Do you think in this kind of scheme though, he might be better suited at tackle,
15:48 where he might not be asked to move in space and pull as often?
15:51 >> I think he could stay a tackle and play sort of a similar role as like
15:57 a Jack Conklin did, who stronger run blocker than pass blocker,
16:03 bigger guy, stronger, powerful.
16:05 As you get more nuanced, they're definitely different players, but
16:10 just kinda generally speaking, they can fill, I guess, kind of a similar role.
16:16 So yeah, I think he could definitely stay a tackle in this scheme and
16:22 be a good player like he has been.
16:25 >> Just needed some Brandon Thorne validation, that's all.
16:27 Thank you very much for that.
16:29 All right, now moving on to free agency before we get to the draft.
16:32 Who in this class do you think would be somebody that could potentially fit in
16:36 this new Patriots system?
16:37 Some guys I was thinking of that are more on the reasonable side were like
16:40 Jonah Williams or James Luminor maybe.
16:43 And guards, I'm still kinda looking into, I'm not sure who would fit cuz,
16:47 with Cole Strange, it's like, all right, you want somebody who could probably step
16:50 in and play for you, but maybe not somebody who's coming in and saying,
16:53 I am the starter.
16:53 So the guys I mentioned, if there's anybody else who comes to mind,
16:57 who do you think could potentially be a good fit for you?
16:59 >> Yeah, I think Jonah Williams would make sense if you don't bring back on Wano.
17:03 Assuming he's gonna be cheaper, which I think he probably will be.
17:08 That would be the only reason I would think that you would really wanna swap
17:12 them out, is just cost.
17:15 But yeah, I mean, Jonah Williams definitely would make sense as
17:20 a solid option to tackle.
17:24 >> I'm sorry, would you say right exclusively or
17:27 do you think he can still go back to the left?
17:29 Cuz I'm not sure to go back for sure now, but.
17:32 >> Yeah, I mean, I guess he could go back to the left.
17:34 I don't know, I kinda liked his tape last year, right tackle.
17:38 And especially as he settled in, I thought he settled in pretty nicely.
17:42 And that seems like, I would assume teams would probably feel similarly to that in
17:47 terms of like comparing, at least last year left tackle wasn't very good.
17:53 The year before that was pretty good at left tackle, so
17:55 it's a little bit up and down.
17:56 Yeah, but I mean, I guess that one, he could play left.
18:00 So yeah, maybe on Wano and Jonah Williams at left,
18:03 that wouldn't be too much of a surprise there.
18:06 So that's in terms of tackle free agents though, every year it's bare.
18:11 I mean, there's really not like just looking at the list right now.
18:16 I mean, there's guys that flashed and whatnot like George Fant,
18:21 from the Texans last year filled in admirably there.
18:26 Had a pretty good year, he's a kind of a stopgap option, that would be one.
18:32 I mean, I'm going down the list here.
18:36 It's you mentioned the rumor from the Raiders.
18:39 I mean, I think he's okay, as a starter, I mean, definitely stop cap at best.
18:46 Yeah, it's tough to find the tackles.
18:50 I think, I mean, ideally you would go tackle in the draft,
18:54 especially if you're drafting a guy that you need to be a starter right away.
18:57 And then you can find the interior guys later in the draft or in free agency.
19:02 And it's just a little bit easier to find those guys just because
19:06 the supply is higher.
19:07 >> Definitely, definitely.
19:09 All right, so let's move on to the draft then,
19:11 because it seems like this is one that's, honestly,
19:13 it feels like you could find someone to fit right and left throughout the draft.
19:17 But it feels like this is more right tackle heavy.
19:19 So maybe we'll go on both sides of the line.
19:22 We'll start off with which left tackle options do you think would be good fits?
19:25 Whether it is like a Joe Alter and Olu early on, or if they decide to wait till
19:29 the second or maybe even later in the draft for like a Javon Foster,
19:33 someone maybe want to develop behind if they do sign like a Jonah Williams.
19:36 >> Yeah, I mean, I think any of these tackles would make sense.
19:43 Honestly, I don't see any of these guys that would not be fits in this game for
19:49 any reason.
19:50 So I think the obvious one is Joe Walters because even though Belichick
19:56 isn't there anymore, but like Joe all just, when you watch him,
20:02 the initial person that you think of is Nate soldier,
20:05 just because of his height, his weight, his length, the way he moves.
20:09 I think he is better than Nate soldier coming out of Colorado, but
20:13 very similar body type.
20:15 So I could see kind of some appeal there, some connection there, and
20:20 I think he would make a ton of sense in a lot of ways, but
20:24 you're gonna have to pay a premium to get him.
20:26 Same with for Sean, it was same kind of deal.
20:29 I mean, you're gonna have to draft both those guys in the top ten.
20:32 So, but yeah, both those guys make a lot of sense, left.
20:36 So, and then you mentioned like right tackles,
20:39 there's a lot of right tackles in this draft.
20:41 JC Latham, Amaris Mims, Tyler Guyton, Kingsley Suamitia from BYU played left and
20:46 right, so he's one of the few guys that's played both.
20:49 And I mean, really any of those guys,
20:53 I don't know if there's a specific guy you wanna talk about, but I don't see why
20:57 any of those guys wouldn't make sense in New England or really anywhere.
21:01 I mean, this like the scheme thing, I think can get a little overrated.
21:07 I mean, just because so many teams are running multiple schemes right now,
21:13 in terms of the run game, there's very few like zone heavy schemes that
21:19 don't do any gap concepts or vice versa.
21:23 So, these guys pretty much have to be able to do a little bit of everything.
21:27 And I think all these guys kind of fit that.
21:29 I think the real distinction is pass protection and even that,
21:33 a lot of teams are running at least some RPOs or play actions.
21:37 So, there's not a ton of true drop back passes,
21:40 that's also gonna depend on your quarterback.
21:43 You guys with Mac Jones, he has a lot of experience running RPOs,
21:48 going back to Alabama.
21:49 So, assuming that they're gonna fold those in somehow, you don't necessarily
21:55 need to rely on your tackles heavily in the true drop back pass game.
21:59 And that is helpful for all these rookies.
22:03 And there's not a lot of rookies that are gonna come in and
22:06 be able to really execute a true drop back pass game at a high level.
22:10 I would say in this class, the only two I'd feel really comfortable doing that,
22:14 that would be Joe Wall and Ola Foshanna.
22:16 But of course, those guys are gonna be top ten picks.
22:18 So, yeah, as far as later round guys go though, you mentioned one,
22:25 I like Javon Foster as well.
22:27 I kind of have like a fifth, fourth, fifth round grade on him.
22:31 He might go higher because he had a pretty good senior bowl.
22:33 I think he's probably gonna test pretty well as well.
22:36 Long arms, he fits the bill in terms of physical traits.
22:40 Definitely a good developmental guy.
22:43 Another guy, I mean, Roger Rosengarten is kind of interesting.
22:48 >> Yeah.
22:49 >> From Washington.
22:50 I thought he should have stayed, honestly, but he's big, he's athletic.
22:55 Not super long, kind of like Jonah Williams body type in some ways.
23:02 But definitely like twitchy, explosive, does a lot of fun things and
23:06 pass protection.
23:07 He's a guy I would love to develop.
23:09 Definitely not start anytime soon, but definitely a developmental piece.
23:14 So those two guys, Blake Fisher would be another one from Notre Dame,
23:18 opposite Joe Wall, their right tackle.
23:21 He's another guy who would make a lot of sense somewhere late day two,
23:25 early day three, that you could develop as well.
23:29 >> Good year to have major holes on the offensive line,
23:32 especially on the edges.
23:33 I wanna get your thoughts on two more guys though.
23:35 Now one is Patrick Paul, who I know had a lot of hype coming into the senior bowl.
23:38 I thought did some good things, but I know he uses that hug technique a lot,
23:42 where you kind of just invite the bull rush.
23:44 And it felt like he was still getting pushed back,
23:46 but obviously the technique gets expected.
23:48 But I felt like it happened more than you might like.
23:51 So I was curious what your thoughts were on him.
23:53 And also I believe it was Travis Glover from Georgia State who came in because of
23:56 an injury, and I thought had one of the more impressive performances,
24:00 especially for somebody who came in late.
24:01 And I know you were actually boots on the ground.
24:03 So what were your thoughts on those two guys, Patrick Paul and
24:06 then Travis Glover?
24:07 >> Yeah, I mean, Paul looked pretty much just like how he does on tape.
24:12 It's a little up and down.
24:13 He has crazy long arms, crazy wingspan,
24:17 which is kind of a double edged sword in and of itself.
24:20 And in terms of, if you're not a little early with your hands,
24:25 it's real easy to be late when you're that long.
24:28 And guys are able to kind of get past that initial strike and
24:33 he winds up wide or high on a lot of guys with his hand placement.
24:37 And that just happens on tape, it happened in the senior bowl.
24:41 And then that results in guys getting into his frame, into his chest,
24:44 pressing him open, walking him back, things like that.
24:48 But you do see when he lands his hands on guys, he is very strong.
24:53 He's a strong player, reminds me a lot of Braxton Jones,
24:57 the Bears left tackle right now.
24:59 At a Southern Utah a couple years ago, very similar body type,
25:03 very similar player.
25:04 They're both strong, big guys with long arms that need technique work.
25:11 I do like Paul more than Jones though, I think he's more athletic.
25:14 But yeah, that's gonna need to get cleaned up to become a consistent starter in
25:20 the NFL, I think.
25:21 But I think he's, what is he, my seventh tackle right now?
25:28 Yeah, seventh overall tackle.
25:29 And I think ideally you get him round two somewhere, maybe round three.
25:37 That would be great, I think that'd be great value for him.
25:40 We'll see where he goes, how he tests, all that.
25:42 But yeah, I mean, I think the senior bowl kind of just kind of confirmed what you
25:48 saw on tape with him more than anything.
25:50 Glover is a guy I did not watch coming into the week.
25:53 But yeah, anytime a guy comes in midweek,
25:56 kind of against the eight ball a little bit there.
26:00 Just having to learn things on the fly and everything.
26:03 And I thought he did pretty well.
26:05 I mean, one on ones were up and down.
26:09 I mean, I thought the thing that stood out to me was some of the patience
26:13 that he was using.
26:14 He didn't look like he was scrambling out there.
26:17 He looked confident.
26:19 He looked like the moment wasn't too big for him or anything like that.
26:23 And you could see that in some of his pass sets,
26:25 in terms of how he was being patient, getting to a spot,
26:28 not trying to chase guys and get manipulated out of position.
26:31 So some of that was nice.
26:32 But he did miss sometimes and get beat clean a few times.
26:39 It wasn't-- I mean, for the circumstances, I think it was pretty good.
26:44 And it definitely is going to drive a lot of people
26:46 to go watch his tape, me included.
26:48 So I'll make sure I'll get a scouting report on him at some point.
26:52 But yeah, all things considered, pretty impressive performance from him.
26:58 Well, this was amazing and informative, as always, Brandon.
27:01 Thank you so much for joining us.
27:02 Before I get you out of here, please let the people
27:04 know where they can find you and what work we should be looking out for.
27:08 Yeah, so trenchwarfare.substack.com.
27:12 People can go there.
27:13 I just did a film with Joe Walt that came out yesterday.
27:17 I think I posted that.
27:18 So yeah, I sat down with an hour for an hour with Joe Walt
27:22 and just broke down his film.
27:23 And then have another one coming out shortly with Jackson Powers Johnson.
27:28 I'm going to be sitting down for about an hour with him.
27:30 And I got a lot of guys coming out.
27:32 So if people are interested in these guys
27:35 and want to get a peek inside their mindset or whatnot,
27:38 I have those film rooms coming out.
27:40 And then all my scouting reports will be on Bleacher Report.
27:44 They're up now.
27:44 And I'm going to be writing more as we go along.
27:48 So those are probably the two best spots.
27:51 Awesome.
27:51 And I'm literally going to check out that Joe Walt video
27:53 as soon as we're done with this.
27:54 So thank you for letting me know.
27:56 All right.
27:56 Thank you again, brother.
27:57 Appreciate you so much.
27:58 Appreciate you all for watching.
28:00 As always, take care of yourselves.
28:02 Take care of each other.
28:03 We will see you next time.
