00:00:00New York City, I love this town.
00:00:05I've lived here my entire life and it's been the backdrop for some of my greatest deals.
00:00:11It's steeped in grand tradition and unlimited opportunities.
00:00:15I admire its toughness and its beauty.
00:00:18It's full of energy, lots and lots of energy.
00:00:22My name is Donald Trump.
00:00:30You know everything about me.
00:00:32I'm the largest real estate developer in New York by far and I own over 100 different companies.
00:00:38And you know what?
00:00:40The way you impress people is through results.
00:00:43Success breeds success.
00:00:48It's tough to find good people to run my businesses, but I pride myself in only hiring
00:00:53the best.
00:00:54My TV show has helped me discover some really great executives.
00:00:58After the first season, I hired Bill Rancic and a few months ago, I hired Kelly Perdue.
00:01:07He's done a great job in working with me in the construction of Trump Place and other
00:01:12of my New York developments.
00:01:14Welcome aboard.
00:01:15Thanks a lot, Paul.
00:01:16I really appreciate it.
00:01:17I'm going to run to Mr. Trump.
00:01:18All right.
00:01:19Will do.
00:01:20And now I'm ready to hire somebody new to run one of my many companies in the Trump organization.
00:01:28I'm looking for someone who can handle the pressure.
00:01:31I'm looking for someone who's a creative thinker.
00:01:34I'm looking for the apprentice.
00:01:45I'm not playing games.
00:01:46This is a 16-week job interview, and I've invited these 18 candidates to New York City
00:01:53for the chance to be my apprentice and learn about the world of big business.
00:02:01But this time, it'll be a battle between book smarts and street smarts.
00:02:04My first time in New York.
00:02:06Nine of them learned their skills in a classroom and have degrees from some of the finest schools
00:02:12in the country.
00:02:13They're MBAs, attorneys, and real estate developers.
00:02:17The other nine learned the ropes by skipping college and entering the workforce right away.
00:02:24With only a high school diploma, they work in finance, public relations, and own business
00:02:29franchises and have used their hands-on experience to get ahead.
00:02:44This is the chance for them to work for me at a huge salary and learn something, so they
00:02:49too can become a billionaire someday.
00:03:11Wow.
00:03:13I love New York City.
00:03:15There's a success story on every corner.
00:03:18And here at Trump Tower, I'm going to give 18 candidates a chance at winning the dream
00:03:25job of a lifetime.
00:03:32Who will succeed, and who will fail, and who will be the apprentice?
00:03:44Money, money, money, money.
00:03:48Money.
00:03:51Money, money, money, money.
00:03:54Money.
00:03:56Some people got to have it.
00:03:59Hey, hey, hey.
00:04:01Some people really need it.
00:04:04Listen to me, y'all.
00:04:06Do things, do things, do things, bad things with it.
00:04:13Dollar bills, y'all.
00:04:14Come on.
00:04:15That's D.
00:04:17Oh, D.
00:04:19Make great almighty dollars.
00:04:23I don't know that money.
00:04:28Give me a nickel, brother.
00:04:30Can you buy that?
00:04:33Money can drive some people out of their minds.
00:04:40No good, no good.
00:04:43Money, money, money, money.
00:05:00I'm here to see Mr. Trump.
00:05:02And your name?
00:05:03Chris Shelton.
00:05:04OK, Chris.
00:05:05Put your bag right over there and just have a seat.
00:05:08Thank you very much.
00:05:10I'm 21 years old.
00:05:12I work with multi-millionaires that invest with me and trust me.
00:05:16I don't see failure as an option.
00:05:18I'm ready to go.
00:05:28Craig Williams.
00:05:29Put your bag right over there and wait over to the side.
00:05:32I'm not one to prejudge, but there are a few people that look like they might not be Mr. Trump material.
00:05:49The guy in the leisure suit, obviously he dances to the beat of a different drummer.
00:05:53And apparently that drummer loves polyester.
00:05:56These people are in for a hell of a time courtesy of me.
00:05:59I'm a little man with a big mouth.
00:06:01They're going to think I'm an idiot.
00:06:02And that's totally to my advantage.
00:06:04They're going to put their guard down.
00:06:05And as soon as they put their guard down, I'm going to come in and take what's rightfully mine.
00:06:12I don't see any competition.
00:06:13You can tell a couple of the women are a little bit pampered.
00:06:15My daddy helped me out doing this.
00:06:17My daddy helped me doing that.
00:06:18I can just tell.
00:06:19You know, if they're nail chips, they're going to get a little bit tweaked up.
00:06:22Most people don't think that I'm an intellectual when I am.
00:06:25I would like to make male chauvinist pigs realize that they're wrong.
00:06:29And that women can be sexy and powerful and smart.
00:06:35Robin, send them in.
00:06:42Please go in and meet Mr. Trump.
00:06:43Ladies go in first and stay on the left.
00:06:46Men on the right.
00:06:47Please go in and meet Mr. Trump.
00:06:48Ladies go in first and stay on the left.
00:06:50Men on the right.
00:06:54These people are sharks in every way, shape, and form.
00:06:57They all want the job just as bad as I do.
00:07:00It's going to come down to the boardroom.
00:07:02And that basically comes down to survival of the fittest.
00:07:17Welcome to New York City and your 16-week job interview.
00:07:31It's going to be very tough.
00:07:33It's going to be very rough.
00:07:35As you probably know, George on my right, Carolyn on my left,
00:07:39they've both become very famous people,
00:07:41but actually they're great executives and they've been with me a long time.
00:07:46Now the past two times, I split the teams up into men versus women.
00:07:51And you're probably thinking, just by looking around,
00:07:54that I'm going to be doing that again.
00:07:59Well, you're wrong.
00:08:02This year, I put together very different groups.
00:08:07Each group has approximately the same IQ and are approximately the same age.
00:08:12But there's one glaring difference.
00:08:17Half of you have college degrees and half of you have only a high school diploma.
00:08:25Since going into the business world,
00:08:27the high school grads and the college grads have all been real superstars.
00:08:32But after I assembled the teams,
00:08:34I realized one of the groups makes more than three times the income
00:08:40that the other group makes.
00:08:41Shockingly, it's the high school grads.
00:08:46These are real killers.
00:08:48Does that mean practical experience is more important than academic knowledge?
00:08:52I'm not sure, but I am going to find out.
00:08:56Now project managers.
00:08:58As an incentive, if the project manager wins one week
00:09:02and then the following week that team loses,
00:09:05the project manager will be exempt.
00:09:10But you know what happens if your team loses.
00:09:13You'll come back to the boardroom where someone will be fired.
00:09:18You're all very talented and very smart,
00:09:21but only one of you will be running one of my companies.
00:09:25For the next 16 weeks, you're going to be living in hell.
00:09:29Nobody's going to be getting much sleep.
00:09:33Good luck.
00:09:34Go up to the suite.
00:09:35Enjoy yourself.
00:09:36I'll see you tomorrow.
00:09:44When Donald Trump told us the teams were going to be separated
00:09:47between college and high school educated,
00:09:50I was fired up.
00:09:51I believe in street smarts.
00:09:52I believe that if you don't have street smarts in the business world,
00:09:55you're going to be cut by the juggler.
00:09:58And that's it. You're done.
00:10:08New York City, USA
00:10:29Yeah!
00:10:30Oh my God.
00:10:34Wow.
00:10:35This is beautiful.
00:10:36This is great.
00:10:37Hi, everyone.
00:10:38Hi.
00:10:39Oh my God.
00:10:40It's a dream kitchen, you guys.
00:10:42When I left the boardroom to go into the suite for the first time,
00:10:45I was so excited.
00:10:46The place was just beautiful.
00:10:48I could get used to this lifestyle real easily.
00:10:53Chocolate, awesome.
00:10:54Wow.
00:10:55Caviar.
00:10:56Caviar.
00:10:57I'd like to raise a toast.
00:10:58Good luck.
00:11:02Cheers.
00:11:04Should we read the cards?
00:11:06Your first order of business is to figure out
00:11:08which of the teams you belong to,
00:11:10who has a college degree,
00:11:11who only has a high school degree.
00:11:13Once you have done that,
00:11:14your second order of business will be
00:11:16to think of a name for your new group.
00:11:18From now on, you will be known as a corporation.
00:11:20Good luck, Donna Trump.
00:11:25That is so cool.
00:11:26College, people at college over there,
00:11:28people with high school over there.
00:11:29I have a suggestion.
00:11:30Yes.
00:11:31From now on, instead of referring to my team as high school,
00:11:34can we refer to us as the wealthier of the two groups?
00:11:37That would be great.
00:11:38I appreciate that.
00:11:39Thank you so much.
00:11:40That would make me feel a lot better.
00:11:42Thank you so much for that.
00:11:44I would say to the high school graduates
00:11:46that make three times as much as I do
00:11:48to watch out.
00:11:49It's only going to stay that way for a quick minute.
00:11:51I'm coming up.
00:11:52You're on this side.
00:11:53You're on the wealthy side.
00:11:54We want to call our team net worth.
00:11:57Do you know why we're going to win?
00:11:59Because we got nothing to lose.
00:12:01We got nothing to lose.
00:12:02Nothing to lose.
00:12:03It's about alignment.
00:12:04If I get beat by a Harvard grad,
00:12:05hey, the guy went to Harvard.
00:12:06If he gets beat by me,
00:12:07he got beat by a schmo from Tampa.
00:12:19I took law for two years.
00:12:21I wanted to be a lawyer.
00:12:22I found out how much income they make.
00:12:23I dropped out of college and moved to L.A.
00:12:25It's all about the money for me.
00:12:27I was like, screw that.
00:12:28I'm not working my ass off to make no money.
00:12:31Donald Trump divided us based on
00:12:33those people who had college degrees
00:12:35and those people who did not have college degrees.
00:12:37Initially, I was taken aback.
00:12:39But when I found out that
00:12:41the net worth of my team
00:12:43was three times greater
00:12:45than the net worth of the other team,
00:12:46I'm feeling pretty confident.
00:12:48Here's something else that they probably don't know.
00:12:50There's a quote from a book
00:12:51that was actually written by Mr. Trump
00:12:53that says,
00:12:54sometimes it is better to hire
00:12:55attitude and experience over education.
00:12:58And I think that this room
00:12:59is attitude and experience,
00:13:01and that room is education.
00:13:03Guys, let's make a pact right now.
00:13:05We work our asses off together.
00:13:07Absolutely.
00:13:08And one more thing.
00:13:09Whatever is said in that boardroom
00:13:11stays in that boardroom,
00:13:13and that's it.
00:13:14Let me tell you something.
00:13:15If I don't like something you do,
00:13:16I will tell you to your face.
00:13:18If you surprise me with something in the boardroom
00:13:20that you did not bring to me
00:13:22before we get in there,
00:13:23buckle your chinstrap.
00:13:25I'm telling you right now.
00:13:26Buckle your chinstrap.
00:13:29I gotta win.
00:13:30Can we have titles?
00:13:31This is the title I'd like.
00:13:32If it's okay.
00:13:33I want to be the CMO,
00:13:34the Chief Morale Officer.
00:13:36Yay!
00:13:39Unbelievable!
00:13:42Danny definitely stood out in that meeting.
00:13:44He is so energetic.
00:13:45He pumped us up.
00:13:46He's just our cheerleader.
00:13:48And I can see if somebody's down
00:13:50or not feeling well,
00:13:51Danny's going to be there
00:13:52just to be our cheerleader
00:13:53and bring us back up.
00:13:55Yeah!
00:13:56Yeah!
00:13:57Unbelievable!
00:14:00The other candidates
00:14:01wouldn't see me as a CEO,
00:14:03but they don't see the background,
00:14:04my years and years of growing
00:14:06three different businesses
00:14:07and succeeding at that.
00:14:08And that's embodied in my style and spirit
00:14:10and the way I represent myself.
00:14:12Let's do the name first.
00:14:14Chisnit.
00:14:15Chisnit.
00:14:16Chisnit Corporation.
00:14:17Yeah, that'd be real good.
00:14:18Einstein Corp.
00:14:19What about Cornerstone?
00:14:20Too long or something.
00:14:21What about Ronan?
00:14:22Doesn't mean anything to me.
00:14:23Vice is so difficult.
00:14:24Nowhere else to be smart.
00:14:25Victory.
00:14:26No one knows what that means.
00:14:27Legacy.
00:14:28Legacy is good.
00:14:29I actually like Legacy.
00:14:30I like Legacy.
00:14:31Let's vote Legacy.
00:14:32I'm not against it.
00:14:33It's like, you know,
00:14:34we're going to have a legacy
00:14:36if you hit me in the knee.
00:14:38But Triumph is like,
00:14:40we're going to triumph
00:14:42if we all stand together.
00:14:44It's just like,
00:14:45it's musical.
00:14:46It's poetic.
00:14:47There are some people in the group
00:14:48that need to remain focused.
00:14:50One of those is Danny.
00:14:51The first thing that's come
00:14:52out of Danny's mouth is,
00:14:53let's write a song.
00:14:54Let's think of, you know,
00:14:55what is our team motto?
00:14:57Let's build some teams.
00:14:58And it's like, Danny.
00:15:00Danny.
00:15:01It's not going to be
00:15:02The Academy.
00:15:04No.
00:15:05No.
00:15:06No.
00:15:07No.
00:15:08No.
00:15:09No.
00:15:10No.
00:15:11Diplomacy.
00:15:12Diplomacy.
00:15:13I like it.
00:15:14Parchment.
00:15:15Magna.
00:15:16Parchments.
00:15:17Magna.
00:15:18Magna is good.
00:15:19Done.
00:15:20If they don't like that word.
00:15:21That's it.
00:15:22Done.
00:15:23The name Magna
00:15:24comes from Magna Cum Laude,
00:15:26an award given at graduation.
00:15:28And all of us are college graduates,
00:15:30so this is a great expression
00:15:31of where we come from.
00:15:33I can go with it.
00:15:34Okay, okay.
00:15:35We're going to do it.
00:15:36So, the college graduates
00:15:37are Magna.
00:15:39There is Verna,
00:15:40Stephanie,
00:15:41Kendra,
00:15:42Aaron,
00:15:43Danny,
00:15:44Unbelievable!
00:15:47Michael,
00:15:48Todd,
00:15:49Brynn,
00:15:50and myself.
00:15:52Rock and roll, brother!
00:15:54Unbelievable!
00:15:58I found out the age of...
00:16:00That was corny.
00:16:01I'm sorry, I'm sorry.
00:16:02Thirteen.
00:16:03I don't think we're quite
00:16:04as rah-rah as they are,
00:16:05but, you know,
00:16:06I'll show no go.
00:16:07I mean,
00:16:08we'll see when we're on the field
00:16:10who can play and who can't.
00:16:12You know, let's just come up
00:16:13with a new name.
00:16:14It's not going to be
00:16:15a little f***ing name
00:16:16that we're going to throw around.
00:16:17Let's go
00:16:18bang name.
00:16:19I'm an American.
00:16:20I'm not.
00:16:21It just bangs it out.
00:16:22Brass Balls, Inc.
00:16:23Yes!
00:16:24Write it down!
00:16:25Brass Balls, Inc.
00:16:26Brass Balls,
00:16:27because you got to have...
00:16:28Is that B-A-L-L-S-A-N?
00:16:30In business,
00:16:31you have to have balls.
00:16:32Big balls.
00:16:33Brass balls.
00:16:34You know,
00:16:35in order to be a success,
00:16:36you got to have brass balls.
00:16:37I think it's a...
00:16:38No, no, no, no.
00:16:39Let's just be mature adults
00:16:40and come to a conclusion.
00:16:41It's not that hard.
00:16:42I was thinking Net Worth, Inc.
00:16:43No, Net Worth.
00:16:44Net Worth Enterprise?
00:16:45I like it.
00:16:46I think Net Worth is going to be it.
00:16:47I love it.

00:17:33I guess that's what they did
00:17:34in college
00:17:35while we were working
00:17:36and making money.
00:17:37Maybe that's why
00:17:38we're worth three times as much.
00:17:40We're Team Magna
00:17:41and we know that we're better
00:17:43because we're holding out strong
00:17:47I don't know,
00:17:48something like that.
00:18:01Phone, phone!
00:18:06Hello?
00:18:07Hi, good morning.
00:18:08It's Ronan,
00:18:09Mr. Trump's office.
00:18:10He wanted me to call you
00:18:11and tell you to meet him
00:18:12on the rooftop
00:18:13at Trump Tower at 9 a.m.
00:18:14Thank you so much.
00:18:16You!
00:18:17The rooftop.
00:18:18All right, let's tell our team.
00:18:20Go get your team ready.
00:18:38Good morning.
00:18:39Give me your team names.
00:18:41High school.
00:18:42Net worth.
00:18:44Net worth.
00:18:45How did you come up with that?
00:18:46Collectively,
00:18:47we have a high financial net worth.
00:18:49In addition to that,
00:18:50there's another common bond
00:18:52that unites us.
00:18:53We divide the odds.
00:18:54We persevere.
00:18:55So on a personal level,
00:18:56we also have a high net worth.
00:18:58I like the name.
00:18:59I like it a lot.
00:19:00College.
00:19:01Our name is MagnaCorp.
00:19:03Magna meaning?
00:19:04Magna cum laude.
00:19:05We wanted a name
00:19:06that encapsulated
00:19:07our educational achievements.
00:19:08Okay, very interesting.
00:19:10I like those names.
00:19:11All right, let's get started.
00:19:14We're standing on the top of Trump Tower.
00:19:17You're in New York City,
00:19:19the fastest-paced place
00:19:21anywhere on Earth.
00:19:23Everything here is done quickly.
00:19:25And like me,
00:19:26New Yorkers don't like to waste time
00:19:28because time is money.
00:19:31That's why fast food,
00:19:33especially here,
00:19:34is such a big business.
00:19:36For your first task,
00:19:38you're going to be working
00:19:40with a fast food restaurant.
00:19:43Burger King.
00:19:45We all know Burger King.
00:19:47It's one of the largest
00:19:49food companies in the world.
00:19:51They have 11,000 restaurants
00:19:54in 61 countries,
00:19:56and they sell over
00:19:572.5 billion hamburgers a year.
00:20:01Burger King is in the process
00:20:03of adding six new burgers
00:20:05to their menu.
00:20:07Each team will take over
00:20:09a Burger King restaurant
00:20:11and launch one of these items.
00:20:13You have to pick your item,
00:20:15name it, market it,
00:20:17and manage the restaurant.
00:20:19The team which earns
00:20:20the most revenue
00:20:22from selling the new product wins.
00:20:25And for this task,
00:20:26like all others,
00:20:27George and Carolyn
00:20:28will be my eyes and ears.
00:20:31How do you think you're going
00:20:32to do against them?
00:20:33I mean, you should have
00:20:34a big advantage
00:20:35with all that education.
00:20:36Blow them out of the water.
00:20:37I mean, would you be embarrassed
00:20:38if the high schoolers
00:20:39kicked your ass?
00:20:40I'd be embarrassed
00:20:41if anybody kicked my butt.
00:20:42That's a good answer.
00:20:44But if you lose,
00:20:45you'll meet me in the boardroom
00:20:47where someone will be fired.
00:20:49Good luck.
00:20:51♪♪
00:21:00We are so on it.
00:21:01Whoo!
00:21:02I love it!
00:21:03We are so on it.
00:21:05We have to go to our project manager.
00:21:08I'm really excited.
00:21:09Guys, I've worked
00:21:10in all kinds of restaurants.
00:21:11I've opened restaurant concepts.
00:21:12I've designed restaurant concepts.
00:21:13I've designed menus.
00:21:14So you're it, bud.
00:21:15The first thing we did as a team
00:21:17was select a project manager.
00:21:19John has a lot of experience
00:21:21in the restaurant industry.
00:21:23Everybody said,
00:21:24okay, we trust you.
00:21:25Make it happen.
00:21:26Definitely has the background.
00:21:28Okay, guys, guys, guys.
00:21:30Here's the deal.
00:21:31If you want to say something,
00:21:32just throw your hand up
00:21:33and I'll call on you
00:21:34and you can speak.
00:21:35I want everyone to have
00:21:36a chance to be heard.
00:21:37Okay?
00:21:38Yeah.
00:21:39All right, let's get out of here.
00:21:40Before we talk about marketing
00:21:41or anything,
00:21:42I want to go meet
00:21:43with their chef
00:21:44because who cares
00:21:45what you're marketing
00:21:46until you know
00:21:47what your product is?
00:21:48Let's make it happen.
00:21:49Yeah.
00:21:50This is a huge marketing
00:21:51sales task.
00:21:52Yes.
00:21:53We must know the audience.
00:21:54It's perfect that we have
00:21:55a chance to have people
00:21:56who didn't go to college
00:21:57and people who did go to college
00:21:58both flipping burgers
00:21:59because there's always
00:22:00a joke about the person
00:22:01who doesn't go to college,
00:22:02you're going to go flip burgers.
00:22:03It really puts our personalities
00:22:04and all the stuff together.
00:22:06I've owned and operated a restaurant.
00:22:07I've owned and operated a restaurant.
00:22:08I've owned and operated a restaurant.
00:22:09You've owned and operated a hotel?
00:22:10He ran and owned a restaurant.
00:22:11I own and owned a restaurant.
00:22:12Are you into it?
00:22:13Are you into it?
00:22:14It was decided that
00:22:15Ty was going to be
00:22:16the project manager
00:22:17based on the fact that
00:22:18he'd ran a restaurant before.
00:22:19This seems to be
00:22:20more on the analytical side
00:22:21than just basically
00:22:22running a restaurant.
00:22:23And don't ask.
00:22:24We want to keep it simple
00:22:25as simple as possible.
00:22:26I can tell you
00:22:27one of my strengths
00:22:28will be getting people
00:22:29in the door,
00:22:30working on the sales
00:22:31and marketing.
00:22:32I'm great at that too.
00:22:33You seem like you have
00:22:34a pretty good head
00:22:35for what's required of us.
00:22:36Danny positioned himself
00:22:37to become vice president
00:22:38based on the fact that
00:22:39Danny convinced everybody
00:22:40that he was the right man
00:22:41for the job.
00:22:42If you open your mouth
00:22:43and say that you're capable
00:22:44of doing something,
00:22:45you better step up to the plate
00:22:46and put out and do it.
00:22:47Yeah!
00:22:48Oh!
00:22:49Oh!
00:22:50Oh!

00:28:56Oh!
00:28:57Oh!
00:28:58Oh!
00:28:59Oh!
00:29:00Oh!
00:29:01Oh!
00:29:02Oh!
00:29:03Oh!
00:29:04Oh!
00:29:05Oh!
00:29:06Oh!
00:29:07Oh!
00:29:08Oh!
00:29:09Oh!
00:29:10Oh!
00:29:11Oh!
00:29:12Oh!
00:29:13Oh!
00:29:14Oh!
00:29:15Oh!
00:29:16Oh!
00:29:17Oh!
00:29:18Oh!
00:29:19Oh!
00:29:20Oh!
00:29:21and we're going to stick with that.
00:29:23Nothing fancy or outside of the box on that.
00:29:26Who was your customer?
00:29:27Our customer...
00:29:30That's a good question.
00:29:32At this stage, we have...
00:29:35Our group is in training,
00:29:37and we have time limitations
00:29:38that are somewhat prohibiting us
00:29:40to manage all the market research
00:29:42we would have liked to have done.
00:29:44We were not prepared to meet with Russ.
00:29:46I thought that we should have had more ideas,
00:29:49but Danny wanted to go ahead with the meeting.
00:29:51So our slogan, we're thinking of Just Say Cheese.
00:29:53Just Say Cheese.
00:29:54Does that sound good with you?
00:29:56That could be okay.
00:29:58The concept of Just Say Cheese
00:30:00is certainly a straight-ahead concept.
00:30:02That's right.
00:30:03So thanks for your time.
00:30:04We'll be back to you.
00:30:06The initial thought was have a red carpet,
00:30:08have people taking pictures,
00:30:10to go with the tagline, Say Cheese.
00:30:13I'm not sure about this promotion.
00:30:17Danny did not like the feedback we received from Russ,
00:30:21therefore he nixed the entire Just Say Cheese campaign,
00:30:25and we basically had to start over from scratch.
00:30:27Triple something.
00:30:29Triple...
00:30:30The trifecta.
00:30:31And we can bring in...
00:30:33We can bring in horses.
00:30:35Let's think about the circus.
00:30:36Hey, three-wing circus.
00:30:38I mean, a circus,
00:30:39While we were brainstorming,
00:30:41I would throw out ideas,
00:30:43and Danny would decline them.
00:30:46What about win a date with Danny?
00:30:49Hello there.
00:30:52Let me ask you if I can be of any service
00:30:55to either you or Steph at this point.
00:30:57Is there anything I can do for you,
00:30:58anything you want to run by me?
00:31:00No, no, no.
00:31:01We don't need anything.
00:31:03Keep an eye on the timing,
00:31:04and we'll be right back.
00:31:06No, we don't need anything.
00:31:08Keep an eye on the timeline,
00:31:09regardless of the ideas,
00:31:10timeline is key,
00:31:11because we need time to get this stuff produced.
00:31:13Danny has been really erratic,
00:31:15going off on tangents,
00:31:16very hard to rein in,
00:31:18not able to come to clear and concise decisions
00:31:20in a timely manner.
00:31:21That's where we're running into some trouble.
00:31:23You'll have to call me back.
00:31:24Have you started any advertising?
00:31:26I'll talk to you later, bye.
00:31:37Okay, well, welcome.
00:31:39You guys want to have a seat around here now?
00:31:41Absolutely.
00:31:42We ran over and met with Mr. Kline from Burger King,
00:31:44to make sure our concept is okay with Burger King,
00:31:47and then Steph with the values
00:31:48that they want us to present.
00:31:50Tell me what you got.
00:31:51We're doing the whole
00:31:52Wanted Dead or Alive thing, okay?
00:31:54We're going to give away a trip
00:31:55for two to Las Vegas tomorrow.
00:31:57And you're able to fund that?
00:31:58Absolutely.
00:31:59All right.
00:32:00You're going to give away a trip
00:32:01for two to Las Vegas tomorrow?
00:32:03Yes.
00:32:04All right.
00:32:07I would like to find out from you
00:32:09if you could tell me how much it would be
00:32:11for two round-trip tickets from JFK
00:32:14to the McCarran Airport in Las Vegas.
00:32:16So you're looking at about 201.
00:32:18How late is he going to be at work?
00:32:19And how late will you be there tonight, Jack?
00:32:2110 p.m.
00:32:22Oh, great.
00:32:2310?
00:32:24We are on it, okay.
00:32:27So, Kristen and I go to pick up the tickets.
00:32:30Didn't know the guy didn't have a storefront.
00:32:33I thought we were going to a storefront travel agent.
00:32:36It wasn't even that.
00:32:37It was the apartment.
00:32:39Hi, Tana.
00:32:40Nice to meet you.
00:32:41Nice to meet you.
00:32:42Oh, these were your doggies.
00:32:43These are my babies.
00:32:44Hey, I'm here for the tickets.
00:32:45Okay, come on in.
00:32:46I don't buy things from people's apartments.
00:32:48I don't trust that stuff,
00:32:49especially in New York City.
00:32:51L.A. are big cities.
00:32:52I don't trust that stuff.
00:32:54Especially in New York City.
00:32:55L.A. are big cities.
00:32:56You had a couple printer problems, huh?
00:32:58Oh, my God.
00:33:03House smells like urine.
00:33:05Freaking dog dander everywhere.
00:33:08And the damn dogs are jumping up on my skirt,
00:33:12practically ripped my pantyhose.
00:33:14I thought, damn it, at Christmas,
00:33:16let's just get out of here.
00:33:17Wouldn't you know it?
00:33:18The dog gets so excited
00:33:20because my partner in crime, Kristen,
00:33:22is petting his ass,
00:33:23and he pees all over me.
00:33:25Oh, great.
00:33:27We're going to be smelling fresh tonight.
00:33:30Oh, it's okay.
00:33:32I'm going home and getting out of these hoes anyways.
00:33:35Oh, boy.
00:33:37He just went pee-pee on the floor.
00:33:39That's not very nice.
00:33:40Oh, no, he went pee-pee on Tana.
00:33:53Okay, let me think, let me think, let me think.
00:33:57Oh, God.
00:33:59I'm embracing the fact
00:34:00that I'm the out-of-the-box kind of guy in the group.
00:34:03I'm really hard on myself
00:34:04to come up with something unbelievable
00:34:06that really gets the buzz that we need
00:34:08to take it to the next level.
00:34:09It's tough when you challenge yourself like that all the time.
00:34:14Uh, triple play.
00:34:18Hello.
00:34:20Hey.
00:34:21What have you guys decided on for the whole theme?
00:34:24The theme is baseball, triple play.
00:34:27I love it, love it.
00:34:28Okay, so that's a done deal.
00:34:30All right, you have to put your faith in people
00:34:32that they're going to come through,
00:34:34and finally, Danny and Stephanie
00:34:36came up with the baseball theme.
00:34:38It's a brilliant concept.
00:34:39Everybody's going to want to play.
00:34:41It'll draw people in, and it'll stop traffic.
00:34:44It'll get people buzzing.
00:34:46You guys, how are you guys doing?
00:34:48Everybody looks so beat.
00:34:49You guys have done absolutely magnificent.
00:34:52What's going well for Team Magnet right now is unity.
00:34:55I think everybody's working together
00:34:57to accomplish the common goal,
00:34:59which is to win this task.
00:35:01I'm so proud of you guys.
00:35:03Woo!
00:35:05Go team!
00:35:07Woo!
00:35:09Yes!
00:35:11Yes!
00:35:27Everybody out here.
00:35:28Everybody out here for a minute.
00:35:30Is this the whole crew? Is everybody we got?
00:35:32Now, how many of you guys have graduated from college?
00:35:38None of you?
00:35:39None of you? Well, guess what?
00:35:40None of us have either.
00:35:42All right? None of us.
00:35:44And all those numbskulls down the street
00:35:46all have doctorate, MBA, Harvard, crazy educations.
00:35:50Guess I don't have to tell you
00:35:51they think they're a little better than we are.
00:35:53So I think we're all going to prove to them together
00:35:56that we're better than they are.
00:35:58Let's have some fun.
00:35:59Free bait! Free bait! Free bait!
00:36:01Free bait! Free bait! Free bait!

00:36:32we're screaming, we're shouting.
00:36:34It's great.
00:36:3510.30 a.m., feeling optimistic,
00:36:37feeling like people are going to come running in
00:36:40until I look and I see to my right
00:36:44their great big promotional scheme.
00:36:47I'm going to shoot this little ball through the hole.
00:36:50Simple as this. Witness now.
00:36:52Oh, there goes the ball!
00:36:55What happened to my ball?
00:36:57I was horrified.
00:37:00It looks like a bunch of drunk hippies
00:37:02threw some stuff together
00:37:03to make a little raft to float on.
00:37:06Drum roll!
00:37:09Oh, so close!
00:37:12This is sad.
00:37:13All right!

00:37:21All right, that's my name too.
00:37:23Todd should have taken control of marketing
00:37:26when he saw that we had a problem.
00:37:29When something isn't working, you've got a plan B,
00:37:32but you have to have a plan B.

00:38:10Okay, just...
00:38:11Yes, all right.
00:38:13Throughout the day,
00:38:14all the girls were working at Registrar's Upfront,
00:38:16which was awesome.
00:38:17They all did a tremendous job.
00:38:18Kristen, Angie, and Tana all had amazing energy.
00:38:21They had amazing energy when they were selling the burgers.
00:38:23It really was great.
00:38:24Yeah!
00:38:27You're going to love it.
00:38:28Trust us.
00:38:29Okay.
00:38:30So good.
00:38:31You convince me.
00:38:32I'll try it.
00:38:33Yeah, sure, I'll take that.
00:38:34We got another Western Angus.
00:38:37We're just banging it out.
00:38:38It's working like clock.
00:38:39If you buy one today,
00:38:40you're going to be part of history.
00:38:42We're the high school graduates.
00:38:43We have busted our half,
00:38:45made a name for ourselves.
00:38:47We've all had jobs like this.
00:38:49Nothing's beneath us.
00:38:51I'm wondering how the other team will take it.
00:39:03About 12.30,
00:39:04people are starting to stream in the restaurant.
00:39:06Thank you for your patience.
00:39:07We have a lot of stuff going on right now
00:39:08just because we're promoting the special sandwich.
00:39:10We're starting to get really, really busy,
00:39:12and we can't keep up with people that are coming in
00:39:15to purchase in the cashier line.
00:39:17I'll poke in at number 5 with no mayonnaise.
00:39:20You want a Whopper Jr. with cheese.
00:39:22Oh, wait, hold on, sorry.
00:39:24The cash register is something I've never done.
00:39:26It's got 947,000 buttons.
00:39:3047,000 buttons.
00:39:32If someone asks for a Whopper, you're like...
00:39:36How do you do it on the side?
00:39:37They want pickles on the side.
00:39:39I apologize, this is my first day,
00:39:41so I learned how to do it all.
00:39:43I'm waiting on this side.
00:39:44Are you trying to hang in there as much as you can?
00:39:46Dude, I'm trying.
00:39:47The problem we have right now
00:39:48is we do not have enough cashiers.
00:39:49Medium diet?
00:39:50If I could help you back here, I would.
00:39:52That's the one thing, you know?
00:39:53I kind of get, like, if I'm not trained.
00:39:56Okay, I'll take care of it, you know what I mean?
00:39:58We don't have enough trained cashiers.
00:40:00Customers are getting pissed.
00:40:02Todd was kind of floating around,
00:40:04but because he hadn't been trained,
00:40:06he couldn't really help.
00:40:10Really?
00:40:19And now for the two airline tickets to Las Vegas.
00:40:25Robert M-I-N-E-O.
00:40:27Robert M-I-N-E-O.
00:40:28Robert!
00:40:30Woo!
00:40:31Congratulations, Robert.
00:40:32Yeah!
00:40:33Hope you enjoyed your burger.
00:40:34Hope you enjoyed your burger.
00:40:36I know that we worked very hard,
00:40:38so I'd be very surprised if we don't win,
00:40:40but I'm not going to take anything for granted.
00:40:42I think it's up for grabs.
00:40:44Yeah!
00:40:58Okay.
00:41:24Okay.
00:41:26It was the first battle between Magna and Net Worth,
00:41:30or maybe I should say between BookSmarts and StreetSmarts.
00:41:36George, what happened?
00:41:38Magna sold 139 units of their specialty item
00:41:42for a total of $553.22.
00:41:48I'm seeing some smiles over here.
00:41:50Carolyn, what happened?
00:41:51Well, Net Worth sold 182 specialty items,
00:41:56giving a total of $596.96.
00:42:02Net Worth, you win.
00:42:06So the college geniuses got beaten by high schoolers, huh?
00:42:09Woo!
00:42:10Woo!
00:42:12John.
00:42:13Sir.
00:42:14What do you think about being the project manager?
00:42:17I thought everybody did a great job.
00:42:20And you know, as project manager,
00:42:22if your team loses next week, you will be exempt.
00:42:25Hopefully it won't matter.
00:42:27Well, I'm a great believer in education,
00:42:29but I may have to start reassessing
00:42:31based on this performance.
00:42:32Net Worth, congratulations.
00:42:34As your reward, you're going to the 21 Club.
00:42:38You're going to have dinner at a great restaurant
00:42:41that lots of business people go to.
00:42:43We're going downstairs into the vaults of the 21.
00:42:46During Prohibition, they used to use that.
00:42:48And it's really fascinating.
00:42:50So we're going to have dinner in a little while.
00:42:52I think you're going to love 21 Club.
00:42:54Magna, I'll see you in the boardroom very soon.
00:42:58Somebody will be fired.
00:43:16Hello, everybody.
00:43:17Hello.
00:43:18This is Melania.
00:43:19Hi, nice to meet you.
00:43:20Come on, let's go down.
00:43:21Let's see 21 Club.
00:43:22Come.
00:43:25Our team, Net Worth, won the task today.
00:43:27So as a reward, we got to go to the 21 Club.
00:43:30It's a very exclusive location.
00:43:33It was just an amazing experience.
00:43:35This is the wine cellar door.
00:43:37During Prohibition, this is where all the wines
00:43:39and liquors were stored at 21.
00:43:41And the only way you could get in
00:43:43through this two-and-a-half-ton door
00:43:45is this long metal skewer.
00:43:52Wow, that's pretty good, huh?
00:43:54Come in.
00:43:55I'll lead the way.
00:43:56Watch your head and watch your step.
00:43:58We actually went into the $4 million wine cellar.
00:44:02It was fantastic.
00:44:03Our own private place.
00:44:06So congratulations today.
00:44:07That's a great victory.
00:44:09I was not that surprised to see that you won.
00:44:12The first victory gives you confidence.
00:44:14It gives you a lot of other things.
00:44:16And, John, congratulations on being a good leader today.
00:44:19He led well.
00:44:20The team did well.
00:44:21I was sitting right next to one of the most powerful men
00:44:23in the world, and the coolest thing for me,
00:44:26he leans over and he goes,
00:44:27Hey, John, good job, and stuck his hand out.
00:44:30It was amazing.
00:44:31It was unbelievable.
00:44:32Great going, John, and terrific.
00:44:33Yes?
00:44:34I've been waiting a very long time to ask this.
00:44:36This sounds like trouble.
00:44:37And I just want to know if the story is true or not.
00:44:40You were driving to Atlantic City,
00:44:41and your limo broke down.
00:44:43Husband and wife pulled up behind,
00:44:45and the husband basically said,
00:44:47I'm going to help him out.
00:44:48So he helped out the limousine,
00:44:50and a week later the husband and wife received the deed
00:44:54to their house paid off.
00:44:56Was that a true story?
00:44:58It's true.
00:44:59It's true.
00:45:00It's f***ing awesome.
00:45:03That just goes to show what type of man he is.
00:45:05A great man.
00:45:07He believes in good karma.
00:45:09Here's to not being the first one fired.
00:45:15At least you can't say you were the first one fired.
00:45:19Because you know what?
00:45:21That is something you will never live down.
00:45:30What a bummer.
00:45:32All right.
00:45:33What are our thoughts?
00:45:35All the frustrations stem from the marketing,
00:45:38advertising, and promotion side.
00:45:39All of them?
00:45:40All of the frustrations.
00:45:41So what does it mean when we're sending people in,
00:45:43and they're walking out the door?
00:45:44Is that not a frustration?
00:45:46We went back into the suite,
00:45:47and immediately Todd was already articulating
00:45:50his distaste with where I was coming from.
00:45:53Aaron wanted to get us together and regroup.
00:45:56Todd got us together and split us apart.
00:45:59I think you have a complete misperception of reality here.
00:46:02A complete misperception.
00:46:04Our frustration in dealing with you at this task
00:46:07was super huge for me.
00:46:09Could he or could he not give me a clear...
00:46:11We were going around and around and around.
00:46:13No, we're not going around and around here.
00:46:15We're clearly going down one path.
00:46:17You could not make a decision at all the whole night.
00:46:21I was the unbelievable guy.
00:46:23I was the corporate cheerleader.
00:46:25And now I'm being accused of being a traitor.
00:46:29It's treason.
00:46:30Danny, burn them.
00:46:31Send them out.
00:46:33Someone's going to go to more, and I hate to see that.
00:46:35And it sucks.
00:46:36So savor the flavor.
00:46:37I don't want to do it again.
00:46:51I have a business side that I feel is a reason for bringing you in
00:46:55because from a production standpoint,
00:46:57I thought that we missed opportunity on upselling.
00:47:01So before we go to the boardroom,
00:47:02Todd pulls me aside and tells me
00:47:04I'm going to bring Danny and you in.
00:47:07Danny was just out of control.
00:47:09From my perspective, you didn't control him.
00:47:11What am I to do about that?
00:47:13I don't know who's worse, Danny or Todd.
00:47:15Todd is a terrible leader.
00:47:17Danny is a steamroller with a drunk driver at the helm.
00:47:21It's either me or Danny.
00:47:22They're going to go.
00:47:23I can guarantee it.
00:47:24You're not going to get fired.
00:47:25Okay.
00:47:26That's how I see it.
00:47:27Okay.
00:47:29Hey, what's up?
00:47:30Did you want to talk to him or say anything else?
00:47:32Do you want to talk about anything else?
00:47:34Because I did great in my job.
00:47:36Yeah?
00:47:37Okay, good.
00:47:38Just making sure.
00:47:39You and I did not lose this for marketing,
00:47:40and there's no way in hell that's going down.
00:47:42All right.
00:47:43Right?
00:47:44Stephanie's very smart,
00:47:45and she has really thought it through, I think, since last night
00:47:48and realized that she was on the marketing team,
00:47:50and she knows the marketing team succeeded.
00:47:53She's going to stick with me on this,
00:47:55and there's only one person to point the figure at, Todd.
00:47:58Trust me, I'm not going to...
00:48:00Okay.
00:48:01I'm trusting you, because I'll find you after all this.
00:48:07Mike, the problem that I'm having is that I just don't like...
00:48:11It shocks me.
00:48:13I don't want to have to, like, harm anyone on our team.
00:48:17Yeah, I know.
00:48:18You know?
00:48:19I hate it.
00:48:20You just want to be positive.
00:48:22We have to, like, backstab people that we like.
00:48:26Emotions are running so high for everyone in our group right now,
00:48:29and we have to go to the boardroom, and everyone's very tense.
00:48:33I know someone's leaving,
00:48:34and I know I'm going to have to say who I want to leave,
00:48:36and it was just really stressful.
00:48:38I don't want to do it at all.
00:48:59Please leave your bags and go right in.
00:49:30Hello.
00:49:31What?
00:49:32Hi.
00:49:33All of these brilliant college graduates,
00:49:36and you lost to high school graduates.
00:49:38Do you feel a little bit, like...
00:49:40Embarrassed?
00:49:41Disappointed?
00:49:42I don't feel embarrassed because they're high school graduates
00:49:44and we're college graduates.
00:49:45I feel embarrassed because we got beat.
00:49:47It's a little embarrassing to me.
00:49:48I went to college.
00:49:49You know, did I waste my time?
00:49:51No.
00:49:54I'm sorry.
00:49:55I'm sorry.
00:49:56I'm sorry.
00:49:57I'm sorry.
00:49:59Todd, what was your strategy?
00:50:00My strategy was, in the beginning, to divide them up into two groups
00:50:03with the primary group of people being the restaurant side,
00:50:06the kitchen side,
00:50:07and the smaller amount of people dedicated to marketing,
00:50:10advertising, and promotion.
00:50:11And what about the cash register?
00:50:12I heard you didn't have enough people at the cash register.
00:50:14Cash register?
00:50:15It's called point of sale, but you didn't have enough people.
00:50:18I had two people trained on point of sale.
00:50:20The other team had three people at the point of sale.
00:50:22I think everybody on the team ought to be ashamed
00:50:24that they missed the basic point,
00:50:26not to sell Burger King,
00:50:28not to sell all the other things that they have.
00:50:30You were being judged on selling one item.
00:50:33What did you think of the job they did?
00:50:35I think the promotion was horrific.
00:50:37I have never seen a worse promotion ever.
00:50:40I was out there. I didn't know what you were selling.
00:50:42I didn't even know if you throw the ball what you get.
00:50:45Now, if I'm there at this point and I know something about the task,
00:50:48how about the people that are walking up and down?
00:50:50What do they know?
00:50:51You look like a street performer.
00:50:52But that was not the point.
00:50:53I was there to draw attention, to manage the promotion,
00:50:57and, in fact, I think it worked.
00:50:59People were in the restaurant, so...
00:51:02But did you sell them on your burger?
00:51:04You just got them in.
00:51:05The objective was not to get them in.
00:51:07The objective was to sell this burger.
00:51:10The advertising promotion and marketing was absolutely horrendous.
00:51:14Danny's inability to make timely, effective decisions...
00:51:19I know, but why do you blame Danny
00:51:21when really you're the leader, Ted?
00:51:23No, I don't blame Danny for everything, absolutely.
00:51:26What do you think of the way Danny dresses?
00:51:29I think it's stylish, but it definitely wasn't effective.
00:51:31Stylish for who?
00:51:32For him, for his fashion.
00:51:34Do you think it's a negative to work for me someday running a big corporation?
00:51:38He wouldn't be able to do that with your corporation.
00:51:40Mr. Trump, it's all about character,
00:51:42and my character is displayed in the clothing I wear,
00:51:44just like your team members.
00:51:45You don't want clones.
00:51:47My character is based on my expertise in marketing.
00:51:49Hold it, hold it.
00:51:50Do you think I'm a clone?
00:51:51George, one second.
00:51:52Are you at a disadvantage with the way you dress
00:51:54in terms of the corporate world?
00:51:55No.
00:51:56I spend one out of ten top 100,
00:51:59Fortune 100 companies are my customers.
00:52:01I go into the boardroom every week with them.
00:52:04Huge companies.
00:52:05What do you do, play the guitar?
00:52:07No, I don't.
00:52:08I connect with them on their marketing campaign, by the way.
00:52:11What are you teaching them?
00:52:12They come to me and my company's expertise.
00:52:14We have marketing technologies,
00:52:17branding technologies to help large companies
00:52:20promote their brands online.
00:52:22Verna, would you say he's at a disadvantage
00:52:24or do you think it doesn't matter?
00:52:26I say he's at a disadvantage.
00:52:27Can he overcome it?
00:52:28I have not seen him have the creative ability needed
00:52:30to overcome it.
00:52:32What do you think, Erin?
00:52:33You're so quiet today.
00:52:34You're a big lawyer.
00:52:35I understand you sue men all the time.
00:52:37You like suing men more than women.
00:52:38I'm in non-discrimination.
00:52:40Non-discrimination, sue her.
00:52:42I'll sue everyone.
00:52:44Non-discrimination, but you'd rather sue a man.
00:52:46I'll sue, no, that's not true.
00:52:47But that's okay, don't worry about it.
00:52:48I'll sue whomever as my boss he wants me to sue.
00:52:51What do you think?
00:52:52I love the way Danny dresses personally,
00:52:54but I would love to wear head-to-toe pink every day of the week.
00:52:56But you know what?
00:52:57When it comes to doing a job, when it comes to work,
00:52:59you've got to wear the right clothes.
00:53:00Verna, if you were me, who would you fire?
00:53:03I would fire Danny.
00:53:04I don't think that our marketing promotion
00:53:06was big enough to create enough buzz
00:53:08to get people coming into the store and wanting our brand.
00:53:11Were you surprised by that one?
00:53:13Danny, Danny, if you were me, who would you fire?
00:53:17I'd fire Todd for sure.
00:53:18They didn't train enough.
00:53:20We trained six to work behind the counter somewhere.
00:53:23The other team trained eight.
00:53:25The project manager was not trained.
00:53:27He could have jumped in and worked behind the register.
00:53:30There is solid evidence, whether you like my promotion or not,
00:53:33that something worked.
00:53:34How can you say I should be fired?
00:53:36That's completely wrong.
00:53:37Stephanie, who would you fire?
00:53:40I would have to say Danny because all day,
00:53:42we spent all day trying to make decisions.
00:53:44She was on my team, and we did make those decisions.
00:53:47Did you think she was good?
00:53:48I thought she did a great job.
00:53:50I am not going to sell her out like she just did with me.
00:53:52You know, the fact remains...
00:53:53She did sell you out.
00:53:54She did.
00:53:55Can I ask Stephanie a question?
00:53:56Yes.
00:53:58Stephanie, did we not have many decisions to make
00:54:01about the promotion and about the actual slogans
00:54:04that we were going to go with?
00:54:06And did you not participate in those decisions with me?
00:54:09We had conversations, but the bottom line is
00:54:11we were brainstorming a lot of my ideas.
00:54:14Maybe she doesn't want to go to the boardroom.
00:54:16No.
00:54:17Because Todd is obviously not going to bring her if she doesn't...
00:54:18Let it finish.
00:54:19Okay, I'm sorry.
00:54:20I had ideas.
00:54:22I just would wish that people would listen to my ideas.
00:54:25Okay, Brent, who would you fire?
00:54:27You're me.
00:54:28Who would you fire?
00:54:29I'd fire Danny.
00:54:30Kendra, who would you fire?
00:54:32I would fire Todd.
00:54:36He lost control of Danny.
00:54:38If I have an employee who's working for me
00:54:40and they're dressed inappropriately
00:54:42or they're not communicating effectively with me,
00:54:44I'm going to put them in check.
00:54:46Who would you fire, Alex?
00:54:47I would fire Danny.
00:54:48There's a question in my mind whether or not he is manageable.
00:54:51Number two, the idea was just so small.
00:54:53There could be that question, Danny.
00:54:54Well, Mr. Trump...
00:54:55I would say at best you're difficult to manage.
00:54:57Okay, but you know what?
00:54:58Would you say that's right?
00:54:59Can I tell you something?
00:55:00And you obviously weren't a great leader
00:55:01because you couldn't manage him.
00:55:02But I would say you were difficult to manage.
00:55:04I don't agree with that at all.
00:55:06I listened to my team members and took their advice.
00:55:09Todd, you're going to pick two people
00:55:12and the three of you are going to come back to the boardroom.
00:55:14Somebody will be fired out of that group.
00:55:16Who are they going to be?
00:55:20Alex and Danny.
00:55:22Okay.
00:55:23Aaron, Verna, Stephanie,
00:55:26Bren, Kendra, Michael.
00:55:29Go up to the suite, enjoy it.
00:55:31You live for another week.
00:55:33Alex, Danny, Todd,
00:55:36I'll see you back in the boardroom.
00:56:00George, what do you think?
00:56:02Well, I think that if I looked in the dictionary
00:56:04and I saw a definition of loose candidate,
00:56:06I'd see Danny's face.
00:56:08Notwithstanding that, he's not the reason they lost the task.
00:56:11The reason they lost the task is plain and simple.
00:56:13It's that they did not have enough people at the point of sale.
00:56:16And I got to blame that on the team manager.
00:56:18Carolyn, what do you think?
00:56:20Well, I think a lot of people here
00:56:21are very conveniently ganging up on Danny.
00:56:24And I give Kendra a lot of credit
00:56:25because she was the only one who actually either realized it
00:56:28or didn't go along with the crowd
00:56:29to be able to say that Danny was, in fact,
00:56:30not the reason that they failed,
00:56:32that it was, in fact, Todd.
00:56:34Okay. Let's see how it goes.
00:56:37Robin, let him come in.
00:56:39Gentlemen, you can go ahead back into the boardroom.
00:57:00Todd, you have to explain one thing to me.
00:57:02Why did you bring Alex?
00:57:03Because Alex was responsible for the kitchen staff.
00:57:06The kitchen staff also encompasses the point of sale as well.
00:57:09Shouldn't you have trained everybody for the point of sale
00:57:11instead of just a percentage of your team?
00:57:14Absolutely.
00:57:15How many people were trained on the POS?
00:57:17Two.
00:57:18Two out of all of you?
00:57:19Two. That's correct.
00:57:20That's correct. Two.
00:57:21Who made that decision?
00:57:22I did.
00:57:23Well, wait, is that your fault or his fault?
00:57:25I was viewing it as Todd's fault, not your fault.
00:57:27Are you telling me it's your fault?
00:57:28Well, I'm going to take responsibility for it
00:57:30because I feel that it was my portion of the deal.
00:57:32You know what, Alex?
00:57:33I thought you were safe until about two minutes ago
00:57:35when you just brought this up.
00:57:36You brought it up yourself.
00:57:37I really thought you were safe.
00:57:38I didn't think it was your fault.
00:57:40I think that's one of the biggest problems that I'm seeing
00:57:42is what happened at point of sale.
00:57:44And you're saying you trained two people.
00:57:46There were three people that were trained for the cookouts.
00:57:50So whose fault is point of sale?
00:57:53Is it you or is it Todd?
00:57:54Well, I personally feel that it's Todd for this reason,
00:57:58that I instructed the Burger King employees
00:58:02that were running the cashiers and our sales team
00:58:05to push our product.
00:58:06Todd, did you think he did a good job?
00:58:08I thought he did a good job keeping the energy up.
00:58:11I thought he lost...
00:58:12What about the fact that he only trained two people
00:58:14at the cashiers?
00:58:15That was a major oversight.
00:58:16Well, it sounds to me that you should have known
00:58:18as a team leader that the most important element
00:58:20is the point of sale,
00:58:21and you don't delegate to anybody
00:58:23how many people are on the point of sale.
00:58:25That's your responsibility.
00:58:26You're the team leader.
00:58:27That's the focus point.
00:58:29Yes, sir.
00:58:30What do you think of this, Danny?
00:58:31You know, all of a sudden,
00:58:32you look like you're coming back, Danny.
00:58:34I thought you were gone.
00:58:35Danny was uncontrollable.
00:58:37For 12 hours, he had the opportunity to make decisions.
00:58:40No, no, he wasn't uncontrollable.
00:58:41He was uncontrollable by you.
00:58:44So you couldn't manage him.
00:58:45Todd, you couldn't manage him.
00:58:49Alex, I thought you shouldn't be here,
00:58:52and now I think you should be.
00:58:54You did a lousy job.
00:58:58Todd, you just didn't lead.
00:59:01Your teammates didn't respect you.
00:59:04You didn't train people to operate the cash registers.
00:59:08Net worth.
00:59:09These are people that went to high school.
00:59:11They all knew how to operate.
00:59:12You trained two people, and not very well.
00:59:16Danny, you're a disaster.
00:59:17You have been a total disaster.
00:59:21Really.
00:59:24But it's hard for me to say this,
00:59:27but I have to fire Todd.
00:59:30He had no leadership, Todd.
00:59:31Zero, zero leadership.
00:59:33This guy can be led.
00:59:35This guy can be led.
00:59:36You didn't have the leadership.
00:59:38You're fired.
00:59:44Go ahead. Out.
00:59:47Out.
01:00:18In the end, he was a terrible leader.
01:00:20He was a bad leader.
01:00:22And he was afraid of everybody.
01:00:23He was afraid of Danny.
01:00:24Danny was a convenient scapegoat for everybody.
01:00:27Okay.
01:00:47For more Apprentice, log on to NBC.com.
01:01:14Obviously, that didn't turn out the way I expected.
01:01:16I'm really really bummed and fortunate to have the opportunity. I think great
01:01:22things will happen from it. I delegated too much responsibility out and that
01:01:27turned out to backfire on me and we didn't get the job done. I feel like I
01:01:31was hung out to dry by Danny who had a pivotal role in the organization and the
01:01:35task and didn't come through for me. But I do want to wish everybody best of luck,
01:01:40have a great time, enjoy the ride. Being the first one fired is not very much fun.
01:01:45I can tell you that. And now I need to go out and get a good job so anybody out
01:01:50there that's looking to hire I think I could still be a great asset to any
01:01:53organization.
