12 June - National weather forecast
Transcript
00:00Hello, welcome to your forecast. It's going to remain sunny and warm for many throughout
00:05this weekend, though UV levels will be high or very high and it will be cloudier in the
00:10far northwest. So we've got warm air and high pressure sat over the bulk of the UK throughout
00:15this weekend. However, it is a slightly different story in the far northwest as frontal systems
00:20move in off the Atlantic and affect this region. So those frontal systems will bring slightly
00:25breezier and cloudier conditions to the far northwest of Scotland throughout this afternoon.
00:30However, further south, we'll see long live sunshine across the bulk of the UK and it
00:34will feel quite warm in that sunshine with highs of 25 degrees expected in the southeast.
00:41Further northwest though, in the southwesterly breeze will feel much fresher. Tonight then
00:46cloud will thicken across northwest Scotland with some light rain and drizzle likely at
00:50times throughout the night. Further south though, we'll see long lived clear spells
00:55overnight with some patches of mist and fog developing and temperatures widely staying
00:59up into double figures. Tomorrow morning then for many, it will be a bright start with plenty
01:05of sunshine and clear skies throughout the day. Slightly cloudier in the northwest all
01:10the while with some rain persisting here. Highs of 28 degrees with temperatures widely
01:16hotter than we're expecting today. However, in the northwest, temperatures will remain
01:20in the teens. Looking ahead to next week, it's going to remain warm and sunny for many
01:25though there is a risk of thunderstorms developing from midweek.
