01:30when it was reopened as a theatre,
01:32the paranormal activity seemed to intensify.

01:36around one of the most infamous inhabitants of Henley,
01:38Mary Blendy.
01:40After poisoning her father by pouring arsenic
01:42into his tea in 1751,
01:44they condemned and hanged Mary for murder.
01:47But in the centuries following her death,
01:50many claim to have seen her ghost.
01:53In 1969,
01:55in the Kenton Theatre,
01:57the play Hanging Wood was performed several times,
01:59which revolves around the life and death
02:01of Mary Blendy.

02:05the murderous lady of Henley
02:07was forever united with the Kenton Theatre.

02:11saw a woman in a grey dress

04:11two houses that joined in one.
04:13They were in charge of the poor
04:15and the helpless and in 1805
04:17they moved to an asylum like this.

04:21or was it something that people
04:23wanted to avoid as it was?
04:25At the beginning these asylums
04:27were beneficial places
04:29but then in Victorian times
04:31they started to look at them
04:33with worse eyes
04:35and they ordered the poor
04:37to work as hard as they could
04:39to show that they were making money.
04:41Were there many deaths during that time?
04:43Yes, because initially
04:45you don't stop seeing people
04:47from this type of asylums.
04:49It's going to be very difficult

05:35and hanged on April 6th, 1752.
05:37And it was a very unpleasant
05:39hanging.
05:41There was a rope between the trees
05:43and they pushed her off the stairs.
