00:00In the name of Allah, the most merciful, the most compassionate.
00:30Those who do not look forward to meet us say, why should angels not be sent to us, or why
00:50do we ourselves not observe our Lord? Surely, they are too proud of themselves and have gone
00:58beyond all limits in their rebellion. On that day, the day when they will behold
01:17angels, there will be no good news for those immersed in evil, and they will cry out. We
01:25seek refuge in Allah. And we shall turn to their deeds, and shall reduce them to scattered
01:46dust. And we shall turn to their deeds, and shall
01:54reduce them to scattered dust. On that day, it is the inmates of paradise
02:01that will be graced with a better abode, and a fairer resting place.
02:06On that day, the sky shall be rent asunder by a cloud, and a whole crowd shall gather
02:24together, and a great cavalcade of angels will be made to descend.
02:40On that day, the true kingdom will belong only to the merciful Lord. That will be a
02:46hard day for those that deny the truth. On that day, the true kingdom will belong
02:55only to the merciful Lord. That will be a hard day for those that deny
03:13the truth. On that day, the true kingdom will belong
03:24He led me astray from the admonition that had come to me.
03:31Satan proved to be a great betrayer of man.
03:35And the messenger will say,
03:38My Lord, my own people have taken this Qur'an as an abrogation.
03:46And the messenger will say,
03:48My Lord, my own people had made this Qur'an an object of laughter.
03:54And the messenger will say,
03:56My Lord, my own people had made this Qur'an an object of laughter.
04:01And thus did We make for every prophet an enemy of the guilty.
04:07And sufficient is your Lord as a guide and a helper.
04:13O Muhammad, thus did We make for every prophet enemies from among those immersed in evil.
04:21And those who disbelieve say,
04:23Why was the Qur'an not revealed to him all at once?
04:27It was revealed thus, that we may fully impress it on your minds.
04:33And those who disbelieve say,
04:35Why was the Qur'an not revealed to him all at once?
04:39It was revealed thus, that we may fully impress it on your minds.
04:45And for the same end,
04:46We have revealed it gradually according to a scheme and fragments.
04:50And for the same end,
04:51We have revealed it gradually according to a scheme and fragments.
04:54And for the same end,
04:55We have revealed it gradually according to a scheme and fragments.
05:08This was also done so that whenever they put any strange question to you,
05:13we sent its right answer and explained the matter in the best manner.
05:32Those who shall be mustered in the hell upon their faces,
05:36their stand is the worst and their way most erroneous.
05:43And We gave Moses the Book,
05:46and We made with him his brother Aaron as a minister.
06:01So say, Let us go to the people who have denied Our signs,
06:08and destroy them with destruction.
06:13And say to him,
06:14Go the two of you to the people who have given the lie to Our signs.
06:19Thereafter, We utterly destroyed them.
06:38The same happened with the people of Noah,
06:41when they gave the lie to the messengers.
06:44We drowned them and made of them a sign of warning for all mankind.
06:50We have kept ready a painful chastisement for the wrongdoers.
07:04And in like manner were the Ad and the Thamud destroyed,
07:09and the people of Aras and many a nation in the centuries in between.
07:24We warned each of them by examples of the nations so destroyed in the past,
07:30and We totally annihilated each of them.
07:40They have surely passed by the town which was rained upon by an evil rain.
07:45Have they not seen it?
07:47Nay, but they do not believe in being raised up after death.
07:53Whenever they see you, they take you for nothing else but an object of jest,
07:58saying, Is this whom Allah has sent as a messenger?
08:14Whenever they see you, they take you for nothing else but an object of jest,
08:19saying, Is this whom Allah has sent as a messenger?
08:41Had we not firmly persevered in our devotion to them,
08:46He had almost led us astray from our guards.
08:50But soon, when they see the chastisement,
08:53they will come to know who had strayed too far from the right way.
09:08Have you ever considered the case of him who has taken his carnal desire for his God?
09:15Can you take responsibility for guiding him to the right way?
09:33Do you think that most of them hear or understand?
09:37For they are merely like cattle, nay, even worse than them.
09:58Have you not seen how your Lord spreads the shade?
10:02If He will, He could have made it stationary instead.
10:06We have made the sun its pilot.
10:16So as the sun rises, we gradually roll up that shade unto us.
10:34It is Allah who has made night a garment for you,
10:38and sleep the repose of death,
10:41and has made day the time of rising to life.
11:02And He it is who sends forth the winds as glad tidings, heralding His mercy.
11:09Then We send down pure water from the sky
11:26That We may revive through it a dead land and give it for drink to many cattle and human beings from among our creation.
11:47We present this wondrous phenomenon to them over and over again,
11:52that they may learn a lesson from it.
11:55But most people simply decline everything except disbelief and ingratitude.
12:10Had We so willed, We would have raised up in every town a warner.
12:24So O Prophet, do not follow the unbelievers but engage in a mighty striving against them with this Quran.
12:52And He it is who has joined the two seas, one sweet and palatable and the other saltish and bitter.
13:01And He has set a barrier and an insurmountable obstruction between the two that keeps them apart.
13:24And He it is who has created man from water and then produced from him two sorts of kindred, by descent and by marriage.
13:35Your Lord is all-powerful.
13:52And yet people worship deities other than Allah that can neither benefit them nor hurt them.
14:00Besides, the unbeliever is ever prone to come to the support of everyone who rebels against his Lord.
14:17We have not sent you, O Muhammad, except as a bearer of good tidings and a warner.
14:38Say to them, I ask of you no reward for my work.
14:43My only reward is that whoever so wills may follow the way leading to his Lord.
15:04O Muhammad, put your trust in Him who is ever living, who will never die, and glorify Him with His praise.
15:14He suffices as a knower of the sins of His servants.
15:34He who created the heavens and the earth, and all that is in between them, in six days, and then ascended the throne, the Merciful One. Ask concerning Him the One who knows.
16:02When they are told, prostrate yourselves before the Merciful One, they say, What is the Merciful One?
16:12Shall we prostrate ourselves before Whomsoever You command us to prostrate? This even further increases their aversion.
16:35Most blessed is He who set a constellation in the heavens and placed in it a great lamp and a shining moon.
16:56He it is who has appointed night and day to succeed one another as a sign for Him, who desires to take heed or desires to be thankful.
17:21The true servants of the Merciful One are those who walk on the earth gently, and when the foolish ones address them, they simply say, Peace to you.
17:40Who spend the night prostrating themselves before their Lord and standing.
17:59Who entreat, Our Lord, ward off from us the chastisement of hell, for its chastisement is one that clings.
18:18Verily, it is a wretched abode and resting place.
18:33The true servants of the Merciful One are those who are neither extravagant nor niggardly in their spending, but keep the golden mean between the two.
19:07Who invoke no other deity along with Allah, nor take any life which Allah has forbidden, save justly, who do not commit unlawful sexual intercourse, and who so does that, shall meet its penalty.
19:33His torment shall be doubled for him on the Day of Resurrection, and he will abide in it in ignominy.
20:02Unless he repents and believes and does righteous works, for such, Allah will change their evil deeds into good deeds. Allah is Ever-Forgiving, Most Compassionate.
20:28Whosoever repents and does good, he returns to Allah in the manner that he should.
20:44The true servants of the Merciful One are those who do not bear witness to any falsehood, and who, when they pass by frivolity, pass by it with dignity.
21:10Who, when they are reminded of the revelations of their Lord, do not fall at them deaf and blind.
21:33Who are prone to pray, our Lord, grant us that our spouses and our offspring be a joy to our eyes, and do make us the leaders of the God-fearing.
21:58They are the ones who will be rewarded for their patience. Lofty palaces will be granted to them, and they will be received with greeting and salutation.
22:18Therein they shall abide forever. How good an abode! And how good a resting place!
22:41Say to them, O Muhammad, My Lord would not care for you were it not for your prayer. But now that you have given the lie to the message of Allah, an inextricable punishment shall soon come upon you.
23:02In the name of Allah, the Most Merciful, the Most Compassionate.
23:22These are the verses of the clear Book.
23:34O Muhammad, you will perhaps grieve yourself to death because these people do not believe.
23:55If we will, we can send down a sign to them from heaven so their necks will be humbled to it.
24:14Never does there come to them an admonition from the Merciful Lord, but they turn away from it.
24:33They will soon come to know the truth of that which they have been scoffing at.
24:49Do they not look at the earth how He caused a variety of fine vegetation to grow from it in abundance?
25:06Surely, there is a sign in this, but most of them would not believe.
25:19Verily, your Lord is infinitely mighty, most compassionate.
25:34Recount to them about the time when your Lord called Moses,
25:38Go to the wrongdoing people.
25:46The people of Pharaoh, do they have no fear?
25:57He said, My Lord, I fear that they will brand me a liar.
26:12My breast is constricted and my tongue is not fluent.
26:17So endow messengership on Aaron.
26:29As for me, they hold the charge of a crime against me.
26:33I fear they will put me to death.
26:47He said, Certainly not.
26:50So go both of you with our signs.
26:52We shall be with you listening to everything.
27:06Go then to Pharaoh and say to him,
27:09The Lord of the Universe has sent us
27:20That you let the children of Israel go with us.
27:34Pharaoh said, Did we not bring you up among us when you were a child?
27:49You spent many years of your life among us
27:52and then you committed that deed of yours.
27:55You are very ungrateful indeed.
28:07Moses replied, I committed that act erringly.
28:25Then I fled for fear of you.
28:27Then my Lord bestowed wisdom and authority on me
28:31and made me one of the messengers.
28:46Now this is the favor that you tauntingly remind me of
28:50that you enslaved the children of Israel.
28:59Pharaoh said, And who is this Lord of the Universe?
29:15Moses answered, The Lord of the heavens and the earth
29:20and of all that is between them, if you were only to believe.
29:32Pharaoh said to those around him, Do you hear what he says?
29:45Moses said, He is your Lord and the Lord of your forefathers of yore.
30:00Pharaoh said to the audience, This messenger of yours who has been sent to you is simply mad.
30:19Moses continued, He is the Lord of the East and the West and all between them.
30:26If you only had any understanding.
30:40Pharaoh said, If you take any god other than me, I will certainly make you one of those who are rotting in prison.
30:56Moses said, Even if I were to bring a clear sign to you?
31:09Pharaoh said, Then bring it if you are truthful at all.
31:22No sooner had he said this, than Moses threw down his rod, and behold, it was a veritable serpent.
31:40And he drew his hand out of his armpit, and lo! it had become a shining object to the beholders.
31:57Pharaoh said to the nobles around him, Surely this man is a skilled magician.
32:13Who wants to drive you out of your land by his magic? Tell us, what do you advise us?
32:29They said, Detain him and his brother for a while, and send forth heralds to the cities.
32:42To mobilize all skilled magicians.
32:53So the magicians were brought together on a particular day at a set time.
33:06And the people were told, Will you join the assembly?
33:19We may perhaps follow the religion of the magicians if they triumph.
33:41When the magicians came forth for the encounter, they said to Pharaoh,
33:46Is there a reward for us if we triumph?
33:58He said, Yes, you will then become those near station to me.
34:13Moses said to them, Throw down whatever you wish to throw.
34:30Thereupon they threw down their ropes and their rods and said,
34:35By the glory of Pharaoh, we shall prevail.
34:48Thereafter Moses threw down his rod, and behold,
34:53it went about swallowing up all the false devices they had contrived.
35:03Thereupon the magicians fell down in frustration.
35:13Saying, We now believe in the Lord of the Universe,
35:22The Lord of Moses and Aaron.
35:52Pharaoh said, You accepted the word of Moses even before I granted you the leave to do so?
35:59Surely, he is your chief who has taught you magic.
36:04Soon shall you come to know.
36:06I shall cut off your hands and feet on opposite sides and shall crucify all of you.
36:13They said, We do not care, for we are bound to return to our Lord.
36:28And we surely expect that our Lord will forgive us our sins, for we are the first ones to believe.
36:52And We revealed to Moses, Set forth with My servants by night, for you will be pursued.
37:11Then Pharaoh sent heralds to the cities to mobilize troops,
37:23saying, These Israelites are only a small band of people
37:43who have certainly provoked our wrath.
37:51But We are a numerous host ever on guard.
37:55Thus did We drive them out of their gardens and springs
38:13and their treasures and excellent dwellings.
38:17This happened with them, but on the other hand,
38:29We enabled the children of Israel to inherit those bounties.
38:34At sunrise they set off in pursuit of them.
38:43And when the groups came face to face, the companions of Moses cried out,
39:02We are overtaken.
39:05Moses said, Certainly not. My Lord is with me. He will direct me.
39:18Then We revealed to Moses, commanding him, Strike the sea with your rod.
39:39Thereupon the sea split up, and then each became like the mass of a huge mound.
39:46We also brought the other party close to the same spot.
39:56And We delivered Moses and his companions, all of them.
40:10Then We drowned the others.
40:19Surely there is a sign in this, but most of them would not believe.
40:34Verily, your Lord is immensely mighty, ever compassionate.
40:47And recount to them the story of Abraham.
40:55When he asked his father and his people, What do you worship?
41:06They answered, There are some idols that we worship, and are devoted to them with constancy.
41:21He asked, Do they hear you when you call them?
41:30Or do they cause you any benefit or harm?
41:39They answered, No, but we found our forefathers doing so.
41:54Thereupon Abraham said, Have you seen with your eyes those whom you have been worshipping?
42:07You and your forefathers of yore.
42:16They are all enemies to me, all, except the Lord of the Universe,
42:29Who created me and who guides me,
42:43Who gives me food and drink,
42:51And who, when I am ill, heals me,
43:00Who will cause me to die and then will again restore me to life,
43:16Who, I hope, will forgive me my sins on the Day of Judgment.
43:28And then Abraham prayed, My Lord, endow me with knowledge and wisdom,
43:35And join me with the righteous,
43:45And grant me an honorable reputation among posterity,
43:58And make me of those who will inherit the Garden of Bliss,
44:11And forgive my father, for he is among those who strayed,
44:20And disgrace me not on the Day when people will be raised to life,
44:32The Day when nothing will avail, neither wealth nor offspring,
44:44But only he that brings to Allah a sound heart will attain to success.
44:57On that day the Garden will be brought near to the God-fearing,
45:07And the fire will be uncovered for those who strayed.
45:15And they will be asked, Where are the gods that you worshipped?
45:29Beside Allah, can they be of any help to you or even be of any help to themselves?
