00:00What's up guys today, we got the official Android 14 update for the s21 ultra
00:06This is a Verizon locked version as well, too
00:09So I was surprised that actually how fast I got this update here, but we are on Android 14
00:14And yeah, so I want to go over just my experience real quick with you guys and let you guys know
00:20How the updates have been so far all right, so let's go ahead and talk about a few things here
00:27So when downloading a you know big update like this it can't be nerve-wracking especially for you know people with older flash
00:34It's because it could go. You know it go way to the left with performance or battery life now
00:40gladly
00:41I haven't had any issues with this phone in terms of performance
00:45Why is actually think it has gotten a little bit smoother with animations and when you are six animations are really really smooth
00:52Just really really bouncy and smooth animation
00:56That's something I did notice here and the s21 ultra has always been a very smooth phone
01:01And you know it's just it feels just as fast, but I'm really enjoying like the animations on here
01:07I think it does feel a lot smoother here the phone
01:11Just feels blazing fast and like I said it's always been fast and as far as battery life
01:16I haven't had any type of battery
01:20Issues here now. I haven't gotten better battery life, but the good thing is I haven't gotten worse battery life with this phone
01:26So that's really good. It's a battery life pretty much stayed the same
01:29And I do want to talk about just some of these features here
01:32I did a whole video about when you are six and the new features
01:35But I'll talk about like the actual essential ones that I think a lot of you guys might are really like
01:40I saw the first thing that should stand out to you in this update and that set out to me is the new quick
01:46Toggles, so here's the old one here and
01:49I'm curious to see because the opinions have been kind of mixed so which one do you guys like you guys like the older one?
01:57More a lot of people. It's kind of like a mixed opinion when I look at the comments
02:01I think this one looks a little bit cleaner on Android 14
02:05like being able to access the I show comfort is like something that I really like being X being able to access a
02:11Dark mode from here to me. It just looks a little bit cleaner in my opinion
02:15But yeah, I can see how you you know might not like it
02:19But yeah, I think it looks clean, and I don't have an issue with it
02:23Also, you can swipe down from the far right to just do one swipe instead of the you know to swipe
02:29You just swipe down from here, and yeah, everything is essentially still the same here. You do have a new
02:37Music thing that'll pop up here
02:40And that's pretty much it as far as the quick toggles. It's not like there's no like new toggles or anything like that really

02:48But yeah, it's it's something that I you know I like it, so I don't have any issues with it
02:52I think one of my favorite things here is the improvements that they did with the actual cameras here
02:58Just you know making the layout look a little bit better
03:01This was a big thing here so a lot of people who are not like
03:05You know they're not like big on phones and stuff like that when people when they say oh, I have a hundred eight megapixel camera
03:11I think they automatically think that they're taking a hundred eight megapixel photos
03:14And I think that's why Samsung did this and made the layout a little bit more simple
03:18Because now it's easier to switch from the 12 megapixel mode to the 108 megapixel mode now from here
03:24It's the same thing for video too you see this thing here
03:28Which I think just look it wanted to look just looks better
03:30And I think it's easier for you know the average person to kind of switch between modes here for sure so I really do like
03:37This layout design a choice that they did also you have a new auto scan for a documents
03:44To as well, and then you also have one here. I think this is also another cool one so you do have the
03:52Minimum option here take pictures as fast as possible by not optimizing pictures after they're taken so basically
03:58It'll just make your photo taking experience really fast, but it's not gonna process the photos. This is kind of good
04:05I guess for like if you're in a situation where you're at a sporting event or something like that
04:10But if you set it to medium, I think that's like the I think that's like the best option here medium
04:16To get quality and the speed as you can see so I really like that if you're a big photo taker then
04:24You're gonna like this widget option that they added so you go to your camera click add and
04:30Basically you can when you open your camera you can start from the front or rear camera
04:34And then you can just go straight into like let's say I want to go straight in a pro video mode
04:39I can also change that picture as well, too and
04:44Change it to this
04:46Change that picture, and then it'll come in like that
04:49And then it'll take me right to my pro mode
04:51And you can honestly do like a full page of like camera widgets to access. You know certain different modes

05:05And then we go to say you know food mode
05:11And then it'll take me to that
05:14You know
05:15Mode I think that's pretty cool. If you like take a lot of pictures and stuff
05:19I also think one of the biggest things here is and this is for people that aren't like super tech savvy
05:24but you're gonna go to
05:26Where's that security and privacy and the new auto blocker?
05:30I think is a big thing for just people that you know you might be on a web page or something like that and a
05:36Lot of people they'll accidentally install like apps and stuff so Samsung has put this in place
05:41As you can see block add some unauthorized stores blocks commands by USB cable
05:46And then you also have the messaging app protection on here and block software updates by USB as well, too
05:53So that's really handy. I think that's for people who aren't really super tech savvy just make your device a lot
05:58You know a lot more secure from those and let you know type of mistakes
06:03Now the last thing that I thought was pretty cool
06:05Is that you can move around the clock now in one UI 6
06:10But I want Samsung
06:12I wish they would like kind of go like all in on it because you can only move it around like to a certain area
06:18Like if I could I would like to move it down a little bit more than a center
06:21But there's also like a new clock styles and stuff like that too that you can mess around with
06:26And you know you can change your color completely and all that good stuff
06:29But yeah, so that's basically you know the gist here all the like major stuff at least there's a lot more stuff
06:36But that's like basically the major stuff, so what do you guys think of the update so far?
