00:00What's up guys, today we're going to be talking about the best phones or flagships that you
00:03can get for in that $400 price range.
00:06So let's go ahead and get started here with the S22 Ultra.
00:09This phone had a pretty amazing price drop.
00:12It was always around that upper $500 area and I found it for $424 on Amazon right here
00:19and I think that's an excellent deal.
00:21It's a really good deal for this type of phone here.
00:24It's got the aluminum frame.
00:25It's pretty much got the same design of an S23 and S24 for the most part.
00:30It's IP68 dust and water resistant.
00:32It's got the same camera design.
00:34Again, it just looks pretty much identical.
00:36You got the built-in S-Pen as well too and then you also do have the matte finish on
00:42here.
00:43It does have that boxy feel where it kind of cuts into the hand so just do note that
00:46but a lot of people do like the design on here.
00:49Now it's got a pretty big 6.8 inch dynamic AMOLED panel.
00:53It's HDR10+, 1,750 nits peak brightness at 1440p, 540ppi, overall a beautiful panel.
01:02The big difference is what Samsung is doing with the newer stuff is with the S23 they
01:06slightly slimmed down the curved display and now it's completely gone with the S24 so
01:11if you do like the super curved display look, the S22 Ultra does offer that.
01:17So this phone, it does have a Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 which is very fast speed wise.
01:23It's still going to feel pretty much identical to the S23 and S24.
01:29Gaming performance is still pretty solid on this device as well too.
01:32No issues with that.
01:33It got the One UI 6 update with the Android 14 and this phone is supposed to get the Galaxy
01:39AI features as well too so we'll be excited to see that.
01:43But yeah, performance on here is nice for the most part.
01:46I do think the phone gets a little bit warmer than I would like but I think Samsung addressed
01:49that with the newer ones but I've never had it crash on me or anything like that.
01:53You have 128GB of internal storage, 8GB of RAM on the base model.
01:57The speakers are okay on here, they're not my favorite.
02:00The under the display fingerprint sensor works fine, face unlock is on here.
02:04You do have an excellent camera system on here.
02:06It's 108MP standard, 10MP telephoto with 3x optical, 10MP periscope telephoto with
02:1310x optical, and then a 12MP ultrawide.
02:17You also have 8K24 with a 40MP selfie cam that shoots in 4K60.
02:23Excellent excellent photos on here.
02:26You get to take advantage of the zoom photography on here as well too and it just comes out
02:31really clean.
02:32I love the zoom shots on here.
02:34Of course you have the 100x zoom on here.
02:37Excellent cameras.
02:38Battery life is just okay on the S22.
02:41So it's got a 5000mAh battery, it's 45W charging.
02:45You do have wireless and reverse wireless charging.
02:48This screen, I can get around close to 6 hours of screen on time.
02:52Like I said, it's not as good as the S23 and S24.
02:56I think battery life is just kind of average on here.
02:59But for the most part, I think this phone is excellent for $400.
03:02Alright, next is the Galaxy S23.
03:05I think this is one of my personal favorites on the list.
03:08And again, this is $400 on Amazon and I absolutely love this phone.
03:13A lot of people don't like these smaller flagship phones, I guess.
03:18But this is a really good one and I think a lot of people don't like them because of
03:21the battery life.
03:22But this one has excellent battery life so we'll talk about that later.
03:26Now if you do want an alternative to this, there's the S23 FE with a bigger screen as
03:31well so that could be an alternative.
03:33But yeah, if you're into kind of smaller phones, this one, it feels excellent in the hands
03:38aluminum frame.
03:39It's IP68 dust and water resistant and it has the up-to-date modern design, pretty much
03:43identical to the S24.
03:46So this one has a 6.1 inch dynamic AMOLED display.
03:49It's HDR10+, 1750 nits peak brightness at 6.1 inches, 1080p, 425 for the PPI.
03:58Just a beautiful panel.
03:59It's completely flat, super slim bezels on here as well too.
04:02I just absolutely love the design and the display on here.
04:05Just a very nice, bright, vibrant panel.
04:08So this phone, it got the Android 14 update of course and it's running the Snapdragon
04:128 Gen 2.
04:14And this one, it will get the Galaxy AI features as well if it hasn't already gotten it.
04:19And yeah, so I just absolutely love this phone for its price point.
04:22It's very powerful as well too, gaming, whatever you want to do on it.
04:26It's very efficient, it doesn't get super hot and stuff like that.
04:30It's just a really, really good phone for anybody who wants something a little bit smaller.
04:34128 gigs of internal storage and 8 gigs of RAM.
04:37It is on the base model.
04:39This phone does have stereo speakers on board which sound pretty good for the size of this
04:43device.
04:44You also do have the ultrasonic fingerprint scanner, face unlock, all that stuff.
04:49And the highlight with this phone is that the cameras are excellent at $400.
04:53It's a 50 megapixel standard, 10 megapixel telephoto with 3x optical, a 12 megapixel
04:59ultrawide.
05:00It shoots in 8K30 and then you also have a 12 megapixel selfie cam that shoots in 4K60.
05:06It pretty much takes identical photos to the S24.
05:10So you're really getting, you know, a flagship, current flagship quality photos for the most
05:16part.
05:17Yeah, there are some minor differences from me having the S24 and S23, but they almost
05:22pretty much look identical.
05:23So you're getting a really, really good camera for the price that you're paying with this
05:27phone.
05:29So video is also very solid on this phone as well too.
05:31So overall I just love the camera system in general.
05:35So the highlight with this phone I think is battery life is actually way better than you
05:39think.
05:40It's a 3900 milliamp hour battery, but thanks to the processor on here and Samsung's optimization,
05:46the battery life is excellent on here.
05:47It's a 25 watt wired charging though, wireless and reverse wireless charging.
05:52This phone easily lasts all day.
05:54It's really like a day and a half phone.
05:57And yeah, I was just really impressed with the battery life when I got this phone.
06:00So just an excellent, excellent phone to consider.
06:04Now for all my iPhone lovers, the iPhone 13 is 100% the phone that you should be looking
06:09at.
06:10It's a very impressive phone.
06:12I was really impressed using this phone.
06:14Again, you can find it for that $400 price point on Amazon.
06:18And yeah, there was nothing I really didn't like about this phone.
06:20The design on here, like I said, is very modern.
06:23It pretty much looks like the newest iPhone 14 and 15, at least from the back.
06:28It's got the aluminum frame.
06:29It's IP68 dust and water resistant.
06:32It has a very nice design.
06:33So the 13 does have a 6.1 inch Super Retina XDR OLED display.
06:38It gets up to 1200 nits peak brightness.
06:41It is a 1170 by 2532 resolution display for a 60 for the PPI.
06:47It's a fantastic display color wise, very color accurate.
06:52I think my only issue with the iPhone displays is that I think the notch is definitely a
06:57little bit outdated in 2024.
06:59That's my only issue with the display on here.
07:02But for the most part, I think people who are accustomed to iPhones probably won't mind
07:05it.
07:06But yeah, the display on here is fantastic for the most part.
07:09And also, there's no 120 hertz with this display as well too, which is a little disappointing.
07:16But again, I don't think people who are accustomed to using iPhones, I don't think it would bother
07:21them too much.
07:22So this phone has a crazy fast processor.
07:25It has the Apple A15 chip, and it is a beast when it comes to performance.
07:29I mean, it's really, really fast in benchmarks as well too still.
07:34It is just a performer.
07:36It plays anything pretty much you throw at it, Call of Duty, PUBG, whatever is in the
07:40App Store, it will pretty much blow through it.
07:42So if you want to do gaming on here as well, this phone will definitely be able to do that.
07:47You have 128 gigs of internal storage, 4 gigs of RAM, very nice sounding stereo speakers
07:52on board.
07:53Of course, you have Face ID on board and all that good stuff.
07:56The cameras on here are definitely another highlight.
07:58I'm a huge fan of iPhone video.
08:00I think they still have some of the best video, very natural, great dynamic range.
08:05And also, this takes great photos as well too.
08:07It's a 12 megapixel standard, 12 megapixel ultra wide.
08:10It shoots in 4K60 with a 12 megapixel selfie that also shoots in 4K60.
08:16I think fantastic, fantastic shots on here.
08:19Still flagship quality photos for the most part.
08:22And like I said, video I think still is excellent on here.
08:25So you do have pretty decent battery life for the most part.
08:29It's a 3,240 milliamp hour battery.
08:32I was able to squeeze a day out of this phone, no problem.
08:34You also have the MagSafe charging on here along with your standard wireless charging.
08:39So the iPhone 13 is just an excellent phone.
08:41It'll get software updates for years and years to come.
08:44So that's really nice too.
08:46So this is just a really nice buy here in 2024.
08:49All right, next I want to talk about the OnePlus 10T.
08:52This is a phone that kind of flew below the radar.
08:55And you can find this actually around like $350.
08:58And I really like this phone.
08:59It has a unique feature that I really like.
09:02So it's got a plastic frame, it's got a glass back.
09:04So it still has a kind of like a premium look and feel to it, which is something that I
09:09like.
09:10So this phone has a 6.7 inch fluid AMOLED display.
09:13It's 120 hertz HDR10+.
09:16It's 1080p 394 for the PPI.
09:19And overall, it's a really nice panel, great colors, very smooth.
09:23This phone does have the Oxygen OS 13, which I actually really like.
09:27The skin is really nice.
09:29It's very fluid and smooth.
09:30I like how everything is laid out as well too.
09:32That was actually a highlight for me.
09:34This phone has the Snapdragon 8Gen1 on here as well too.
09:39So it's plenty, you know, enough fast for any type of gaming or just pretty much whatever
09:44you're doing.
09:45It's just a very snappy phone.
09:46Like I said, Oxygen OS plays a big role in that.
09:49I think it's just really fluid.
09:51You have 128 gigs of internal storage and 8 gigs of RAM.
09:55Really nice sounding stereo speakers on here.
09:58The under the display fingerprint scanner is fine.
10:00It's an optical one.
10:02But I think that the cameras also are pretty good on here.
10:06It's a 50 megapixel standard, 8 megapixel ultra-wide, has a 2 megapixel macro, it shoots
10:11in 4K 60, and a 16 megapixel selfie camera, and that shoots in 1080 30.
10:18So you're not getting the best video settings as far as a selfie cam goes.
10:23You don't have a dedicated telephoto lens on here as well too.
10:26So the shots came out pretty good for the most part, especially from the main sensor.
10:31But you know, the highlight with this phone for me was that this phone's battery life
10:36was really, really good.
10:37It's got a 4800 milliamp hour battery, and the charging speed on here was absolutely
10:42nuts.
10:43It's 150 watt for the wired charging.
10:46So there's no wireless charging, but when I tell you the 150 watt charger, and they
10:51do include it in the box, it was crazy fast.
10:55So if you like, you're going somewhere and you're like at 10-15%, you just put this on
11:00a charger, man it's just crazy how much battery life you get back in just a couple minutes.
11:06So this is just an awesome phone, and like I said, you can find this $350, even cheaper,
11:12I think $250, so it's just a really good phone to consider.
11:18Last on the list is the Galaxy Z Flip 5.
11:20Now this phone is a little bit more expensive, so it's around $450 to $470, so it is really
11:28kind of up there, getting close to $500, but I really, really like this phone, guys.
11:34So this phone, it does, it is a folding phone, right?
11:38So it can become a kind of a compact phone as well, too.
11:41It's got the aluminum frame.
11:42I really like the design, it's IPX8 water-resistant, and yeah, I just really love the design.
11:47The folding mechanism on here is really firm.
11:50Yeah, I just really love, you know, I just was a big fan of this phone.
11:54My audience wasn't too much into it, so I didn't make too many videos on it, but it
11:59was a really cool experience, especially using the, you know, the whole flip mechanism, right?
12:04So when you unfold the phone, it has a 6.7-inch display.
12:07It is a dynamic AMOLED, HDR10+, 1750 nits peak brightness, 1080p, 425.
12:14It's a classic Samsung display, and the outside display is a 3.4-inch Super AMOLED display,
12:20and that one is really sharp as well, too.
12:22It has 306 PPI, and overall, just two beautiful displays.
12:26It is a very tall phone as well, too.
12:28It's a very tall and narrow phone as well.
12:31Of course, you got the latest Android 14, Snapdragon 8Gen2, very fast phone.
12:36You can pretty much throw anything at it, and, you know, you'll have good gaming performance
12:41and just performance in general.
12:43So the base is 256 gigs and 8 gigs of RAM, which is really nice, and then you also have
12:49stereo speakers, which sound pretty decent on here.
12:52The fingerprint scanner is side-mounted, which I love.
12:54That's a physical one, and like I said, I absolutely love it.
12:57It's a very natural feeling.
12:59And then the cameras on here are pretty good.
13:00It's a 12-megapixel standard, 12-megapixel ultra-wide that shoots in 4K60, and then you
13:05have a 10-megapixel selfie that shoots in 4K30.
13:09So the image quality was very good from this camera.
13:11Again, flagship quality stills on here.
13:14Just missing the telephoto lens, of course.
13:15They can't, you know, pretty much add that, I guess, because of the size of it.
13:20But yeah, so overall, the image quality was fantastic on here, and battery life really
13:25wasn't that bad at all.
13:27It has a 3,700 milliamp hour battery, it's 25-watt wire charging, and it also has the
13:32wireless and reverse wireless charging on here.
13:35Battery life easily lasted me a day.
13:37So this is just a really cool phone for people who want something compact and you want something
13:41folding.
13:42Yeah, I just absolutely love this phone.
13:45So if you like this form factor, definitely check this out.
13:47Like I said, a little bit expensive, but definitely, I think, worth it if you like
13:51the form factor.
