00:00What's up guys, today we will be talking about the top 5 best older flagship phones that you can get for the $200 price point.
00:07So I'm going to be giving you guys an update on my thoughts and opinions on these devices.
00:12I want to go ahead and thank our partner Mint Mobile.
00:14And let's go ahead and get started with the OnePlus 7 Pro.
00:17Alright so the OnePlus 7 Pro, we made a video about this like last week for $175.
00:22So if you didn't catch that video, just a quick wrap up.
00:25This is still just a great device if you really just want to sum it up.
00:29And it's a very unique device still in 2022 because of the no notch, no punch hole screen on here.
00:38It's a fluid AMOLED 90Hz display, HDR10+, it's at 6.67 inches.
00:43It's a 1440p display and it's 516 for the PPI.
00:47And I've been using this phone just as a daily driver.
00:50And I was using this phone as my daily driver for a very long time as well too.
00:54And it's just still a great experience with the screen on here.
00:58It just feels like you're holding a screen in your hand.
01:00It's a very bright, vibrant.
01:02It uses the pop-up selfie cam mechanism as well too.
01:06And whatever you're doing on this phone, it's just going to be a very immersive experience.
01:10You do have a glass back on here.
01:12And I really like the design on here.
01:14It's very comfortable to hold in the hand especially for a bigger phone.
01:17Now the 7 Pro, it is rocking the Snapdragon 855.
01:20And this phone did surprisingly well with playing video games.
01:24I was able to play PUBG at 90 frames which was pretty impressive.
01:27And overall, general performance is just pretty good on this phone.
01:30Like I said, it doesn't really heat up or anything like that.
01:33It stays relatively cool as well.
01:35So I think performance is great.
01:36You have 128 gigs of internal storage, 6 gigs of RAM.
01:39Most versions online are going to be the 256 and 8 gig version as well too.
01:44And also guys, remember you can get the 7T Pro for just a little bit more money.
01:49It might not be exactly 200 bucks but also consider that phone is pretty good.
01:53You also have stereo speakers which sound really well.
01:56NFC is on here.
01:58The under-the-display fingerprint sensor is actually extremely fast.
02:01And then the cameras on the 7 Pro are pretty good.
02:04It's just that they're not going to be the best on this list that I would recommend as being overall best.
02:10They're pretty good.
02:11And honestly, the photo speaks for themselves.
02:1348 megapixel standard, 8 megapixel telephoto lens with 3x, 16 megapixel ultra-wide.
02:18And it has 4K 60 video with the pop-up selfie that does 16 megapixels at 1080p 30.
02:24Basically, it takes great photos.
02:26It's just not going to be the best on this list.
02:29Sometimes I have to edit the photos.
02:31Sometimes I don't like the way the color comes out.
02:33But in general, in good lighting, it's going to take a pretty good photo.
02:37Now this phone does have a pretty good battery life.
02:39I've never had this phone actually die on me in a day.
02:41So you do have a 4000 milliamp battery, 30 watt charging.
02:45The only complaint with the battery is that there's no wireless charging or anything like that.
02:48But it charges fairly fast.
02:50And like I said, you can get around 6 hours of screen on time out of here.
02:53Alright guys, next.
02:54So I want to talk about today's partner.
02:56And that is Mint Mobile.
02:57I'm really excited to bring this to you guys.
02:59So if you guys are interested in cutting some costs and saving some money,
03:02definitely check this out.
03:04With inflation and just how expensive everything is these days.
03:07With phones being $1000 plus.
03:09This is a great service for you guys.
03:12So Mint Mobile offers premium wireless coverage for as little as $15 a month.
03:16You don't have to sacrifice any coverage, speed, or data.
03:19And it keeps the cost low.
03:21They sell direct to you online.
03:23So that's how they're able to keep that cost pretty low.
03:26I was spending about $50 on my service.
03:31So I've been able to save money with this guy as well when I switch.
03:35And that has been really good.
03:37So the speed has been really great as well too.
03:40I want to show you guys the speed test I did.
03:43So you can see, I went ahead and ran this test.
03:47And you can see we got perfect signal, 35.65, and then 9.57 for the upload as well too.
03:55So you can go ahead and activate it.
03:58It's very easy.
03:59You can do the eSIM and do it that way straight from your phone.
04:02Or you can go ahead and do the traditional SIM, which I did on my OnePlus 7 Pro here.
04:07I just popped it in, activated it.
04:09It was super fast.
04:10Very easy.
04:11You just have to download the Mint app.
04:13And everything goes really, really smoothly here.
04:15They also have a family plan as well too.
04:17They'll let you set up a super affordable plan with just as little as two lines.
04:21Check out the link down below if you want to get started with the $15 a month plan.
04:26It will be down below.
04:27Mint Mobile Matthews Tech.
04:28Check that out, guys.
04:29This is the LG V60.
04:31This phone, it comes in at around $250 to $200.
04:34And like I said, I'll have the links down below.
04:37Basically, this is the best phone for the price-to-spec ratio, in my opinion.
04:42Because you're just getting a lot for literally $200, right?
04:45So, aluminum frame, glass back on here.
04:48I think the design still holds up in 2022.
04:51It's IP68.
04:52It just has a very nice feel to the hand.
04:55It's really built like a tank.
04:56Very well-built phone.
04:58You also have a 6.8-inch P-OLED display.
05:00It's HDR10 Plus at 1080p, 395.
05:03So, the screen is fairly sharp.
05:05And you're going to get some good colors on this phone as well too.
05:08But not only that, this phone, for an extra $100, you can find the dual-screen case on eBay.
05:13You can turn this phone into basically two phones.
05:16So, you can have two screens to do true multitasking on.
05:19And if you're a power user, you're going to absolutely love that feature.
05:22Now, LG did push out the Android 12 update.
05:25But they also promised and said this phone would get Android 13.
05:29So, we will be looking for the Android 13.
05:31I'm assuming it will come out sometime in 2023.
05:35But we will be looking for that because they haven't said that they're going to not put it out.
05:40So, if they put the Android 12 out, we should get Android 13.
05:43We do have the Snapdragon 865 chip on here.
05:46This phone is blazing, blazing fast.
05:48It doesn't matter what you're doing on this phone.
05:50Just bouncing in and out of applications.
05:52Gaming on this phone is phenomenal.
05:54I have several gaming tests.
05:55It blows through anything.
05:57PUBG, Call of Duty, Fortnite.
05:59It's able to play at high settings.
06:01You also have microSD card support.
06:03128 gigs of internal storage and 8 gigs of RAM.
06:06So, you're good on storage with this phone.
06:08One of the best things about this phone is you have a headphone jack with a quad DAC.
06:12So, if you're somebody that really cares about high quality audio, you're going to absolutely love this phone.
06:17And put the cherry on top, the speakers are top notch on this phone too.
06:20Excellent sounding speakers.
06:22Great bass quality on here.
06:23Very good mids and highs.
06:25You're just going to love the audio in general on this phone.
06:28The fingerprint scanner is not the fastest, but it does work.
06:31You just have to apply a little bit of pressure since it is optical.
06:34But that does work.
06:35Unfortunately, there's no face unlock.
06:37The cameras on here are actually pretty good as well too.
06:39It's a 64 megapixel standard with 13 megapixel ultrawide and a 0.3 depth sensor.
06:44It also shoots in 8K 30 and then you have a 10 megapixel selfie that shoots in 4K 30.
06:50It's going to take some absolutely phenomenal photos.
06:52Very good natural color science on these shots.
06:55Good dynamic range.
06:56The ultrawide is good.
06:58I think in general, most people will see these photos as being very good.
07:02Also, you have a 5000 milliamp battery with wireless charging.
07:06This phone does excellent in terms of screen on time and just the screen off time or the standby time.
07:14It's just going to be great on here.
07:16So you get well over 6 hours of screen on time with this phone.
07:19In general, this is just a killer phone as far as the price to spec ratio goes.
07:23Alright guys, next is the Galaxy S10+.
07:26This is still a very impressive phone.
07:28Some would say the best phone that Samsung has released because of how complete it is as far as feature wise.
07:35So this phone, I still love the design on this phone.
07:38I still think it has aged really well.
07:40It's got an aluminum frame, glass back.
07:42It's IP68 dust and water resistant.
07:44Typically, these are going for around $200 as well too.
07:47And then it has a 6.4 inch dynamic AMOLED display.
07:50It's HDR10+, at 1440p, 522 for the PPI.
07:54So it has a very high resolution.
07:56It has the double punch hole up top here as well too.
07:59So the screen quality is just phenomenal on here as well too.
08:04Great colors, extremely sharp.
08:06So I think as far as the screen goes, you'll really like that.
08:09And then, this phone did get its last major OS update, Android 12, One UI 4.1.
08:14It's currently in its security patch stages as well too, so take that into consideration.
08:20You do have the Snapdragon 855.
08:22I did a gaming test on here.
08:23This phone does excellent, excellent with video games.
08:27PUBG played at really good settings, high settings.
08:31Fortnite played really well on this phone.
08:33Basically, any game that I threw at it was playing pretty well.
08:36So this phone is extremely efficient in terms of gaming.
08:39You also have the micro SD card support on here.
08:42And you also have a headphone jack on here as well too.
08:45So that's why a lot of people really like this phone.
08:47You also have 128 gigs of internal storage and 8 gigs of RAM on here.
08:52So it's just very complete as far as feature-wise.
08:55Samsung desktop support is on here.
08:57Secure folders, reverse wireless charging.
08:59Really, all the bells and whistles are still on here.
09:02And you have a very fast under-the-display fingerprint sensor.
09:05And you can take advantage of the face unlock.
09:07The cameras on the S10 Plus are still pretty good as well too.
09:10It's a 12-megapixel standard with a 12-megapixel telephoto.
09:13It shoots in 2X optical zoom with a 16-megapixel ultra-wide.
09:17It also shoots in 4K60 with a 10-megapixel selfie cam.
09:21And then an 8-megapixel depth sensor as well too.
09:24It shoots in 4K60 for the front.
09:27So, image quality-wise, you're still going to get some pretty sharp and pretty nice-looking photos.
09:32Very vibrant, classic sort of Samsung image processing as far as the image quality goes.
09:38This phone also has pretty respectable battery life.
09:40A 4100 milliamp battery with 15-watt charging and wireless and reverse wireless charging.
09:46You do get around 6 hours of screen on time on this phone.
09:51So, overall, it's just an excellent package, honestly, for the money.
09:55Alright, guys, next is the iPhone XS.
09:57I absolutely love this phone.
09:59It's one of my favorite iPhones to recommend to people.
10:02This phone comes in at around $232.
10:04And it's still a pretty nice design on here.
10:07Stainless steel glass back on here.
10:09It's also IP68 dust and water resistant.
10:12I still like the design. It still looks really classy.
10:14This phone is kind of on the smaller side, actually, these days.
10:17It's a 5.8-inch Super Retina OLED display.
10:21It is 1125x2436 with 458 for the PPI.
10:26Overall, still a very nice screen as far as the screen quality goes.
10:31You also get on here iOS 16 as well, too.
10:35And I can see this phone getting, you know, many more years of updates.
10:38Simply because of the Apple A12 chip.
10:41It's still very fast on this phone as far as performance.
10:45Animations are still really nice and smooth on here.
10:48Gaming performance is also very smooth.
10:50I have a gaming test for this phone.
10:52You can play PUBG at high settings, Call of Duty.
10:55Pretty much whatever you throw at this phone, it's going to do a pretty good job.
10:59You also have 64GB of internal storage and 4GB around for the base version.
11:04But you can get the 256GB for, you know, probably like $50 more.
11:09So definitely take that into consideration as well.
11:12This phone has pretty good stereo speakers as well, too.
11:15Very good bass quality on here.
11:17Face ID still works really fast on here as well.
11:20The cameras are pretty good on this device as well, too.
11:22It's a 12-megapixel standard and then a 12-megapixel telephoto lens that does 2x.
11:27And then you can shoot in 4K60 with a 7-megapixel selfie cam that shoots in 108060.
11:33Basically, you can see the shots for yourself.
11:35I think in good lighting, you still get great shots out of this phone.
11:38Good dynamic range.
11:39The zoom is pretty good.
11:41I like to recommend this phone simply because of it has the telephoto lens
11:45because the SE only has one lens and the XR only has one lens.
11:49So if you're at like a sporting event, you'll get a better shot with an actual like dedicated zoom.
11:54Also, this phone has pretty good battery life.
11:57Mine is able to get around close to 6 hours of screen on time.
12:00And again, my battery holds probably like 85%.
12:04It's a 2658 milliamp hour battery.
12:08And then you have wireless charging on board as well, too.
12:11So I think this is still a great option.
12:13And I think it'll get updates for a pretty long time, at least probably like 3, 4 more years.
12:17All right, so last on the list is going to be the iPhone XR.
12:20So this phone is very similar to the XS.
12:24But what a lot of people I noticed like about this phone is that it's just slightly bigger than the XS.
12:29So remember I said the XS has a 5.8-inch display.
12:32This one has a 6.1-inch display.
12:34So the screen size is a little bit bigger.
12:36So a lot of people like that.
12:38And it's around the same price point, again, around $200.
12:41So I think this is a pretty great option as well, too.
12:44It does have its like downsides compared to the XS only having that one camera.
12:48But everything else is actually pretty solid on this phone.
12:51So this phone also has an aluminum frame, glass back.
12:54It's also IP67 dust and water resistant.
12:57And then you have the Liquid Retina IPS display.
13:00Some people like IPS displays over the OLED displays as well, too.
13:04You also have 720p plus resolution, 326 for the PPI.
13:08Overall, the screen looks fine.
13:10It's fairly sharp.
13:11And I have no complaints with it.
13:14Like I said, this phone has the Apple A12 chip on here.
13:17So, again, it's extremely fast in terms of performance.
13:21I was able to still play games at high settings, PUBG, basically whatever I threw at it.
13:26And overall, it's still pretty smooth running iOS 16.
13:29This phone also has 64 gigs of internal storage and 3 gigs of RAM.
13:33And then you also have pretty good stereo speakers on board.
13:36Face ID is on board as well, too.
13:39And the camera itself, it does take pretty good shots.
13:42But like I said, the only downside is it's only one lens.
13:45It's a 12-megapixel standard.
13:46It shoots in 4K60 with a 7-megapixel selfie cam that shoots in 1080p60.
13:51And overall, you're going to get some pretty good image quality with this phone.
13:56Like I said, I have no issues.
13:58Dynamic range is good.
13:59Color science is good.
14:01It's still a good camera.
14:03So, you do have on here a 2942 milliamp battery.
14:07This also has the wireless charging as well, too.
14:10And this is a phone I can easily squeeze around 6 hours of screen on time out of this phone.
14:15So, I have no issues with the iPhone XR.
14:18I still think it's a very good pickup.
14:20And like I said, you can find these easily for $200, if not a little bit cheaper, especially since we're going into 2023.
14:27So, definitely keep that in mind, and I will catch you guys in the next one.
