00:00What's up guys, let's talk about some of my favorite $400 smartphones
00:03We're gonna be going over five of them and we're gonna start with the s21 ultra. I absolutely love this phone
00:09I think this is the best phone on the list and one of the best deals of this year as well
00:13So in the US this phone is around
00:17430 bucks on Amazon use refurbished and on eBay
00:21Absolutely love this phone the design on here
00:24a lot of people prefer this one over the s22
00:27Ultra as far as the camera cutout and as far as it not being as boxy

00:33You can type it in the search bar. This one also has stylus support as well, too
00:37Of course isn't you know, not built in but there's aluminum frame glass back
00:41It's IP 68 dust and water resistant on here as well, too
00:44It has a really beautiful display at 6.8 inches
00:48It's dynamic AMOLED 120 Hertz HDR 10 plus gets up to 1500 nits of peak brightness very bright display
00:54And it's a 1440p resolution with 515 for the PPI
00:58Basically a beautiful top-notch flagship display
01:01Also, what makes this phone really great is that I think it's easier to hold than the s22 ultra as well, too
01:07I really like the screen design on here not being as boxy and it has a slight curve
01:12It's not as dramatic as the s22 as well this phone. It did get the Android 13 update
01:19I will show you guys that and update you guys on all of the phones. I got the update
01:23This one has the snapdragon triple-a processor in the Adreno 660
01:27Not only that but this phone also will get the same software treatment as the s22 ultra as well, too
01:33So it has a pretty long lifespan
01:35the triple-a processor is pretty good as far as
01:39Power wise it is a very fast processor
01:42It's typically, you know gonna give you basically flagship performance doing anything with this phone
01:48Yes, it can get a little bit hot doing long long periods of gaming, but overall I'm not a huge gamer
01:52So I've never really had that issue
01:54but you also get 256 gigs of internal storage and 12 gigs of RAM and again and varies on the model that you get they
02:01Do have 128 game this phone has a stereo speakers, which sound really good
02:06Very good bass quality really loud good vibration motors on here
02:09The under the display fingerprint sensor is on board all of the additional features are on board as far as Samsung desktop support
02:16And everything like that this phone it does have still a world-class camera system
02:21so it's got a 108 megapixel standard a 10 megapixel periscope telephoto that does 10x and then you have a 10 megapixel telephoto that
02:29Does 3x and then you also have a 12 megapixel ultra-wide. It has a macro mode
02:33It can shoot an 8k 24 and then it has a 40 megapixel selfie that shoots in 4k 60
02:39All right. So basically you're still getting top-notch quality shots. I did this
02:44Comparison with the s22 ultra you still basically get the same shots as a newer phone
02:48so you're getting a flagship quality camera that crazy zoom at a hundred times zoom and just crazy detail as far as
02:56The megapixels are concerned here. Alright, so the battery life on this phone is pretty good now
03:01It's not the craziest but you are gonna get pretty decent battery life on here
03:04I can get six hours pretty easy on this phone. You have 25 watt charging with wireless and reverse wireless charging
03:11So overall, I think it's a pretty good deal. So the next phone we're gonna talk about is the galaxy note 20 ultra
03:17So this is a very awesome phone in this phone still is a kind of expensive
03:22I thought this would be more in the $300 price point. But no this phone is still around the $400
03:29$430 price point and it's simply because it has SD card support
03:33So it's the last actual real note with the built-in stylus with SD card support
03:38That's why they can sort of keep the price at where it is right now
03:41Because there's a large demand for this phone and because a lot of people like SD card support, right?
03:46You still have a really good designer here stainless steel frame glass back
03:50IP68 dust and water resistant the built-in stylus is here and it's a very big phone at 6.9 inches
03:56It's a 6.9 inch dynamic AMOLED display 120 Hertz HDR 10 plus
04:01it's also a 1440p display for 96 for the PPI, but you can only use 120 Hertz at
04:09HD so you can't use it at the full HD or the quad HD. So just do a remember that
04:15So this phone is getting Android 13
04:18I haven't got it on mines yet, but it will get it and that will be the last major OS update for this phone
04:23Unfortunately, you do have the snapdragon 865 chip on here. And basically this phone is still blazing blazing fast
04:30I did a gaming test if you guys want to check that out just type in a search bar
04:33It still plays anything that you throw at it at high settings
04:37No problem, and it also does pretty good with heat as well, too
04:41I think the 855 and 865 do the best when it comes to you know, maintain the heat and stuff like that
04:46So this phone does have micro SD card support 128 gigs of internal storage and 12 gigs of RAM on here
04:52So you're pretty much set when it comes to storage and you also have very good stereo speakers on here and great bass quality
04:59On this phone as well to pretty good vibration motor
05:02And then you also have NFC under the display fingerprint sensors very fast
05:06And you know all the bells and whistles are still here as far as Samsung desktop support and all the software
05:11that you get with one UI
05:14basically, this phone has a
05:16Honestly a really good camera setup still it's a hundred eight megapixel standard a 12 megapixel periscope
05:21Telephoto that is 5x and then it does 50 times hybrid zoom with a 12 megapixel ultra wide
05:26This also shoots an 8k 24 and a 10 megapixel a selfie cam that shoots in 4k 60
05:32So I think the shots are still extremely good on this phone even compared to the s21 ultra in the s22 ultra
05:39This can still hang in there when taking excellent flagship quality photos
05:44So I don't think you're really missing too much like yes
05:46It doesn't have the hundred times zoom and all that crazy stuff
05:48But it still does a great job when it comes to zooming in shots and stuff like that
05:52So it's absolutely a great experience when it comes to the image quality on this phone
05:57Now battery life is pretty much on the same boat with the other phones it has a
06:034500 milliamp battery 25 watt
06:05Charging with wireless and reverse wireless charging and again this phone typically will get me around six hours of screen on time as well
06:12Too so I really like the note 20 ultra. It's definitely a great deal for people who want SD card support

06:19Now we're gonna switch it up and talk about the pixel 6a this phone went way under the radar
06:24so you can find this one for 400 bucks and
06:27It's just a great phone, I think it takes some excellent quality shots
06:32Like I'm really impressed with I've always been a huge fan of these pixel phones as far as the image processing goes
06:38This phone has an aluminum frame. It's got a plastic back, but you really wouldn't be able to tell if it's plastic off
06:43You know just the first impressions of it. It is IP 67 dust and water resistant
06:48OLED display on here 6.1 inches 1080p
06:52429 for the PPI the display is excellent on here, but it just lacks any type of high refresh rate Google
06:58We need high refresh rate for the mid-range pixels
07:02Hopefully give us 90 Hertz something like that, but the display is fine
07:06And it's a it's a pretty smooth phone honestly for a 60 Hertz phone
07:09Thanks to the stock version of Android if you guys don't know pixel phones get updates extremely fast
07:15So when you get when Android 14 15 comes out you're one of the first people to get it
07:20This has a Google tensor chip, which is actually a very powerful chip, so this phone does pretty good with benchmarks
07:26It does really good with gaming performance
07:28General performance is just gonna be pretty good on this now you do have stereo speakers on here
07:33Which are pretty good actually have very good bass
07:36Quality of vibration motors are pretty good the under the display fingerprint sensor. It's optical
07:40So it's not like the fastest that I've used, but I don't have you know a huge issue with it
07:46Um it does work, but the highlight with this phone if you want like
07:50Basically like flagship quality shots
07:52I still really love the photos that this phone produces it has a 12.2 megapixel standard with a 12 megapixel ultra-wide
08:004k 60 and an 8 megapixel
08:02Selfie cam that shoots in 1080p a lot of people prefer the pixel shots over some of the like
08:09You know flagship phones like the iPhone 14 and the Galaxy phones a lot of people were actually preferring
08:16This phone when it comes to you like the side-by-side
08:18Camera comparisons, which I have a few on the channel if you want to check that out now the battery life is on here
08:23It's pretty good. It's a four thousand four hundred ten milliamp battery
08:27No wireless charging on this phone though, so do take that into consideration
08:31Battery life is pretty good on here
08:33I was easily able to get over six hours of screen on time with this phone pretty easily
08:38So I really like this phone just strictly for the cameras honestly in the pixel software experience
08:45I think it's still top tier a phone here alright guys next is the
08:49Galaxy s 22 just the standard one so like I was saying this phone is also around $400
08:55And I really love this phone strictly because of the size so if you're somebody who doesn't want s 22 ultra or s 21 ultra

09:05This is a easy phone to handle on one hand and you're not really losing too much if you don't care about the stylus and
09:12Stuff like that so this phone has aluminum frame. It's got glass back. It's also got
09:17The ip68 dust and water resistant it feels excellent in the hand
09:21This is the phone that I love the screen a body ratio on here is really nice
09:25It just has a beautiful design in my opinion feels really great like the matte texture and all that the screen like I said

09:41Display here like I said, I really love the edge to edge bezels on here. It just feels like a really high quality

10:04Multitasking gaming on here. It's gonna be a top-notch high quality experience and
10:10For the most part this phone hasn't really been heating up on me. I got a couple questions about that
10:15No for the most part it does not but again. I'm not a hardcore gamer
10:18I do play games, but it's not for like hours and hours
10:22So this phone does have stereo speakers, which sound great great bass quality
10:26NFC is on board the under the display fingerprint sensor is very fast
10:30I'm on here as well, too
10:31You can use face unlock as well the cameras on here are excellent
10:35And that's also one of the great things about this phone is you have a 50 megapixel standard a 10 megapixel
10:41Telephoto it does 3x and then a 12 megapixel ultra-wide is using a k24 and a 10 megapixel selfie
10:47That's using 4k 60. I think the you know photos speak for themselves
10:51I did a comparison against like the
10:5414 Pro and a few other phones and a lot of people were surprised at how good the s22 does
11:00We're just giving you this really great shot. We're really great colors on here great dynamic range
11:06I really like the way Samson does the colors very vibrant very alive a sort of image processing
11:12So this phone again does pretty good with battery life 3,700 milliamp battery
11:1725 watt charging wireless reverse wireless
11:20So you have a pretty good battery experience for the most part with this phone and overall I just really love
11:26This phone it has pretty much everything you would want our guys last is the iPhone 12 mini now you can find this for around
11:32430 bucks, and I really like this phone for anybody who likes
11:36You know really small phones, and you want something that's extremely comfortable. This is a phone. That's very very comfortable
11:42It's got aluminum frame
11:43It's got glass back IP 68 dust and water resistant one of the smallest displays on this list at 5.4 inches
11:49It's got the XDR OLED display. It gets 1200 nits peak brightness
11:541080p 476 for the PPI
11:56Overall just a really good display as far as quality wise even though you do have like the you know sort of bigger notch
12:02On this phone. It still is gonna. Give you a pretty good
12:06Panel so this phone does have iOS 16 and it runs on the Apple a 14 chip this phone is blazing
12:13Blazing fast it is extremely fast when doing pretty much anything it crushes it in benchmarks still
12:19So whatever you're doing on this phone gaming. You know multitasking. It's gonna be an excellent very fast experience
12:25You have 64 gigs of internal storage and 4 gigs of RAM on the base model
12:30And then you have stereo speakers which sound great really good bass quality
12:34NFC is on board face ID works well on here. This is still able to give you some top tier
12:39Quality shots it has a 12 megapixel standard with a 12 megapixel ultrawide
12:44It's using 4k 60 with a 12 megapixel selfie that also shoots in 4k 60 and like I said
12:50I didn't really see a big difference from this phone in the 13 mini
12:53So I would say it still takes basically the same
12:57Photos still gonna give you high quality shots and also this phone now
13:01This is where this phone kind of lacks it has a two thousand two hundred twenty seven milliamp battery with
13:0720 watt wire charging and it has the Mac safe and wireless charging
13:11So I was only able to get around four hours 30 minutes of screen on time now the 13 mini if you pay a little
13:18Bit more or you're actually gonna pay a lot more
13:21But if you pay more and that has better battery life, but this phone
13:25Yeah, yeah, you might not be able to get through the day if you're sort of like doing heavier stuff on your phone for sure
13:30so take that into
