00:00What's up guys today we're going to be talking about my top 5 favorite $200 smartphones in 2024.
00:05Going to be throwing in some old flagships and some budget phones this time.
00:09So let's go ahead and get started here with the Pixel 6 Pro. As you can see this phone comes in
00:14at a crazy low price of 200 bucks now that the Pixel 8 Pro has come out. This phone has come
00:20down in price a lot. So this phone is really awesome. So if you're looking for a $200 phone
00:27that's going to take excellent pictures, you can get this phone over even the smaller Pixel 6. It's
00:32going to be even cheaper than this. It's like $140 I saw. So it's a really good phone. It has
00:37the glass back aluminum frame. It's IP68 dust and water resistant. Really nice design. Honestly
00:43still looks pretty much like the newest Pixels as well too which is nice. It's got the LTPO
00:48AMOLED display at 120 hertz HDR10 plus at 6.7 inches. It's a beautiful display. It's 1440p
00:56512 for the PPI. So extremely sharp display. Great for watching content on here as well too. It is a
01:02curved panel as well but it's just an awesome looking panel. Extremely smooth with scrolling
01:08and swiping with the stock Android. It's really nice. This phone it did get the Android 14 update
01:14which is really awesome. And this phone has the original Google Tensor chip which is perfectly
01:18fine. It's still really smooth when scrolling, swiping, coming in and out of applications.
01:23It's got 12 gigs of RAM with 128 gigs of storage and gaming on here is fine if you're a casual
01:28gamer. Like I said this is not the most powerful chip but like I said it will be fine for pretty
01:34much majority of people. Like even if you are just kind of like a you know person that plays
01:39Call of Duty, PUBG casually this phone will still be able to do that no problem. You also have on
01:45here actually really good stereo speakers. Great bass quality as well too. The under the display
01:50fingerprint sensor it's an optical one it's not ultrasonic. So it's not as fast but it gets the
01:55job done. I just wish they put face unlock on this phone. But besides that the cameras are really the
02:02star of the show. It's really why you're buying this. You can't really beat the image quality
02:06at this price point. It's a 50 megapixel standard, 48 megapixel telephoto, four times optical and
02:12then a 12 megapixel ultrawide. It shoots in 4k 60 and then you have an 11.1 megapixel ultrawide
02:18selfie cam that's using 4k 30. The shots on here are still top notch. It can still go head to head
02:25with an iPhone 15 Pro Max with a Galaxy S23 Ultra. That is how great the still photography is on this
02:33phone. It's extremely impressive. Google's image processing is just phenomenal here. Also guys the
02:40video is pretty solid as well too. It's not crazy good but I think it's pretty solid. I actually film
02:44all my shorts with the Pixel phones as well too. So I think Google's video is actually improving
02:49you know but yeah the video is solid. You do have somewhat decent battery life. The only
02:55thing I like about this phone is that the standby time I think could be a lot better.
02:59It's a 5003 milliamp hour battery, 23 watt wire charging, 23 watt wireless and reverse wireless
03:06charging is on board. And basically the screen will get you about six hours of screen on time.
03:11But like I said the standby time I wish was a little better but battery life wise it's pretty
03:15decent. It's not bad but it's not like crazy good. Alright next is going to be the S21 FE. A personal
03:21favorite of mine. This honestly would be the phone I would pick up on this list. It's got a aluminum
03:26frame. It's got a plastic back. It's IP68 dust and water resistant and it still feels premium as well
03:32too. It's got like a matte finish on the back. It doesn't feel cheap at all. It's got a 6.4 inch
03:37dynamic AMOLED display. It's 120 hertz HDR 10 plus. Very nice slim bezels on here. It's 1080p
03:43403 for the PPI and just a beautiful panel. So the cool thing about this phone in particular
03:50is that it's going to get Android 15 and 16. So this phone it did qualify for the extra year of
03:57software updates which is really nice. It has a snapdragon 888 processor as well too and then
04:04you also get 6 gigs of RAM and 128 gigs of internal storage on the base. No SD card support
04:10and performance on here is absolutely phenomenal. It's really fast phone pretty much doing anything
04:17whether it's playing video games. You can play PUBG, HDR, Extreme, Call of Duty runs at great
04:23settings. You can pretty much throw anything at it. It's going to play it at excellent settings.
04:27So as far as performance wise it is very impressive performance for cheap and I haven't
04:33had any overheating problems with this phone at all as well too. This phone does have pretty
04:38nice speakers as well. Stereo speakers, a good amount of bass quality. The fingerprint scanner
04:43it is an optical one. It is pretty fast but of course it's not going to be as fast as the
04:48ultrasonic but it gets the job done and you can use face unlock as well too. The cameras on here
04:53are actually very impressive. They're actually better than you might think. So it's a 12 megapixel
04:58standard and an 8 megapixel telephoto. It has three times optical with a 12 megapixel ultra
05:03wide. It shoots in 4k 60 on the front and selfie cam and the selfie has a 32 megapixel resolution.
05:11Photo quality is excellent on here. It takes great shots, great dynamic range. The telephoto lens is
05:18awesome. The ultra wide is very consistent, very good colors, very good video. It is a really good
05:23camera for it's price point. Like I think it's only second to the Pixel honestly. But yeah,
05:29really impressive cameras. I don't think anybody would be disappointed with image quality on here
05:34and the battery life is actually pretty good on this phone. It's a 4500 milliamp hour battery,
05:3925 watt charging and it does have wireless and reverse wireless charging as well too. Very,
05:44very impressive phone you know all together for 200 bucks. That's why I said I think it's
05:50a phone that I would get on the list honestly. Alright so next is the iPhone 11. So if you want
05:54an iPhone at this $200 price point, I think this is one of the best ones you can get. It's got the
06:00aluminum frame on here. I think the design is actually way more comfortable than the newer
06:04iPhones. It's not as boxy. It's way more comfortable to hold. It's IP68 dust and water
06:09resistant as well too. And I still think the design still looks fairly modern, still looks
06:14really good. So this phone has a 6.1 inch 720p plus 326 for the PPI display. It's a retina IPS
06:23display and it's 625 nits brightness. The display is fine. It's actually fairly sharp. I just did
06:30a comparison with it. It doesn't look bad at all but again you know it's not the highest resolution
06:35panel. But like I said, for the average person I think the display is still pretty decent looking.
06:40So this phone is running iOS 17.3. It's got the Apple A13 chip and like I said I just did a video
06:48on this. It's still a fairly fast phone for the most part. I think the only thing about these
06:54iPhones is that they don't have 120 hertz or 90 hertz. That was the only thing I noticed as
06:59far as speed wise but if we're just talking like processor and you know bouncing in and out of
07:05applications. It actually still can play PUBG at HDR extreme and I had no issues with this phone as
07:11far as performance wise. Like I said it's still a fairly fast for the most part. 64 gigs of internal
07:18storage and 4 gigs of RAM as well too. The stereo speakers are still pretty decent on here. You have
07:23Face ID of course and I think the cameras on here are still pretty decent. In good lighting I think
07:30this phone starts to show its age a little bit if you take it out of any type of good lighting. You
07:35get sort of like a softer photo, a grainier photo. It's got a 12 megapixel standard and a 12 megapixel
07:42ultra wide. It shoots in 4k 60 on the front and back with a 12 megapixel selfie cam. I actually
07:48think this does take pretty good pictures still besides like the low light photography. If you're
07:53in like any type of good lighting outdoors you'll still get a really good shot. I think you'll
07:58actually be impressed. Pretty good color, pretty good dynamic range. I was not you know not impressed
08:04with the cameras on here. But yeah I think the cameras are pretty decent. Battery life is still
08:10kind of okay on this phone depending on your battery health. Even if you have really good battery
08:14health you're still only going to get around like 5 hours 30 minutes of screen on time.
08:20A standby time is okay. It's got a 3110 milliamp battery. It's got wireless charging on here as
08:26well too. And like I said battery life is kind of okay. Yeah it's not it's not terrible but if
08:33you're playing games a lot you're gonna have to charge this phone for sure. Now I do want to throw
08:37on some budget phones for anybody who wants like a brand new phone. I really like the Galaxy A34.
08:44This was a phone that I used and I was pretty impressed with. It's 200 bucks flat, brand new
08:49and I think it's still a pretty impressive phone. It's an all plastic phone so it's not
08:55you know the most premium feeling of course. But a really nice design as far as the looks go.
09:00It's IP67 dust and water resistant which is pretty nice for a phone of this price. The screen on here
09:05is actually still really great. It's a Super AMOLED display. It's 120 hertz. It's 1000 nits peak
09:11brightness and then it's 6.6 inches so it's a pretty decent sized phone at 1080p 390 for the
09:17PPI. It does have the water drop notch which again is a little dated but I still really like the
09:24display on here. Like I said it's a really nice high quality panel for sure. This phone got the
09:29Android 14 update when you are 6. It has the Dimensity 1080 chipset on here and you'll be
09:36surprised this phone actually does a decent job with gaming and performance. It's actually pretty
09:41good for the price point. I was actually really impressed with how it was able to handle PUBG,
09:46Call of Duty, you know just bouncing in and out of applications. It's actually a pretty fast phone
09:51so that's why I like this phone for the price point. It's got micro SD card support as well too
09:56which you know is really nice. It's 128 gigs of internal storage, 6 gigs of RAM on the base model.
10:03This phone also has stereo speakers which sound pretty good as well too. The fingerprint scanner
10:08is optical but it works. It's fine. You can use face unlock. The cameras on here so the cameras
10:15on here is kind of where I can see like where they cut the you know where they cut the cost a little
10:20bit. So it's a 48 megapixel standard. It's an 8 megapixel ultra wide. It's got a 5 megapixel macro
10:26and it shoots in 4k 30 on the front and back. You also have 13 megapixel selfie. The cameras on here
10:33are decent. They're not anything crazy. You can get a pretty decent shot out of this phone but
10:39like I said I wouldn't get this phone if you want like the best camera for this price point because
10:44you're typically going to go with the Pixel 6 or the S21 FE for that but again if you're in good
10:50lighting you can get a pretty decent shot with this phone no problem. So you also have excellent
10:56battery life on this phone. It's a 5000 milliamp hour battery, 25 watt wire charging. I was pretty
11:01impressed with the battery life on here and it could definitely last you a full day no problem.
11:07So now last is the LG V60. This is a phone that you can find well under 200 bucks and it's a phone
11:13that I really like still in 2024 but it's just not getting any more security updates or you know
11:20major OS updates but the phone itself is really really good for the price. I like to recommend it
11:26for anybody who's overseas or anybody who wants basically a you know a backup phone or something
11:33like that. I mean this phone has a lot of stuff going on so it's got a really tough design. It's
11:39a aluminum frame. It's IP68 dust and water resistant. It's really solid as well too and then
11:44not only that but it has a 6.8 inch P-OLED display. It's HDR10+, 1080p, 395 for the PPI.
11:52It also has a dual screen case on it as well too which I think is really nice. The screen itself is
11:58is really nice high quality and you can you know basically turn it into two phones basically
12:04which I think is really cool so if you're a heavy multitasker you'll really like that.
12:09It's got its last update with Android 13. It has a Snapdragon 865 chipset on it and this phone is
12:16still blazing blazing fast. It can still play pretty much anything in the Play Store, Call of Duty,
12:21PUBG. It can still play these games at you know PUBG can play HDR Extreme easily. It also has
12:28SD card support. It's 128 gigs of internal storage, 8 gigs of RAM. This phone also has pen support as
12:35well too which is really nice and you also do have a headphone jack with a quad DAC as well so
12:42if you're trying to get some high quality audio out of this phone you can definitely do that. The
12:46speakers on here are pretty solid as well too. Good amount of bass, pretty good quality and you
12:53also do have on the V60 somewhat decent camera still in 2024. They've definitely aged I can tell
13:00especially in low light. In good lighting you can still get a pretty good shot out of the V60. It's
13:06got a 64 megapixel standard, 13 megapixel ultra wide with a 0.3 depth sensor. It also shoots in
13:138k30 with a 10 megapixel selfie that shoots in 4k30 and like I said it's going to give you a
13:18pretty good shot if you're in good lighting and this phone has really good battery life as well
13:23too. It's a 5000 milliamp hour battery and it also has wireless charging. You get excellent standby
13:29time and very good screen on time as well too. Like I said it's a really good phone to consider
13:35especially if you're overseas, you're looking for something powerful with a ton of features.
13:40Definitely something to consider. I would put just to be safe some antivirus software even though I
