00:00what's up guys today i wanted to update my list on the best old samsung
00:03flagships that you should buy in 2023 this late 2023 going into 2024
00:10all right so i think the best phone for most people and i'll let you guys know
00:14like the phone that i would buy personally but i think the best
00:18phone that i like to recommend to most people is the note 20 ultra
00:21this is a fantastic phone i get questions like is this phone still
00:25getting security updates it's going to get security updates for
00:28three years guys so you can easily use this phone for three years i
00:31get a lot of questions about that and we're going to talk about the
00:34security a little bit more um but this is a fantastic phone and you
00:39could typically find these phones for around 350
00:43on ebay if not a little cheaper if you you know decide to bid on them but you
00:48can get an excellent condition for that cost and this phone has a steel a
00:53really good design it's a stainless steel frame it's ip68 dust and water
00:56resistant you do have the built-in stylus on here
00:59and the reason why i like to recommend this phone is because
01:02a lot of people out there really want sd card support
01:05and this phone does provide that and it does a lot of other things really really
01:09well um it also has a 6.9 inch display it's
01:12120 hertz hdr 10 plus 1440p 496 for the ppi so it's a
01:19very big phone so it's really good for watching content netflix watching
01:23youtube it's got a massive beautiful display
01:26and very boxy as well too so it almost looks like a little tv
01:30um again you can only run the 120 hertz at the
01:341080p so just do note that now this phone got its last major os update with
01:38android 13 when ui 5 and it's getting security patches
01:42from you know that point on the best thing about this phone is
01:45actually the snapdragon 865 chip on here it is an extremely fast chip still in
01:512023 you're able to play pubg at 90 frames
01:54it pretty much blows through anything in the play store when it comes to gaming
01:58and performance is just super snappy on this phone in addition to that you do
02:02have sd card support on the base it's 128 gigs and 12 gigs of
02:06ram this phone also has stereo speakers on
02:09here which sound pretty good you've also got pretty much all the same
02:13additional features that you have on the newer s23
02:16as far as the under display fingerprint sensor still being very fast
02:20samsung wireless desktop support and basically
02:23all the same software features even with the s pen so you're not really missing
02:26out on anything feature wise um this phone still has very good
02:30cameras it's got a 108 megapixel camera on here
02:3412 megapixel periscope telephoto that does five times optical
02:37and then it has a 50 times hybrid zoom as well too and it also shoots an ak
02:4224 with a 10 megapixel selfie that shoots in 4k 60
02:46uh if you're outdoors it's really hard to tell the difference between this
02:50and like let's say a s22 ultra it's still really close
02:54uh even to the s23 ultra it still takes great photos outdoors even in
02:58low light it still will give you a pretty good shot you have really good
03:02zooming quality uh on this one as well five times ten
03:05times they all look really good on this phone and video quality still
03:09looks great so the cameras i think you know for the
03:12average person these are still taking some really great shots and like i said
03:16108 megapixel camera if you turn that on you get really well detailed shots
03:20uh if you like to zoom and crop into photos and stuff like that
03:24this phone also has pretty decent battery so this is a question that i get
03:28a lot i bought my i buy majority of my phones
03:30refurbished or used and this phone still will crank out six
03:34hours of screen on time pretty easily it's got a 4500 milliamp hour battery
03:3925 watt wire charging wireless charging i actually have a battery drain test on
03:43this phone as well too it's got reversed wireless charging on
03:47here it's going to do a fantastic job when it comes to battery life i think if
03:52you're a light user like myself if you're more gaming heavy you
03:56definitely are going to have to charge this thing for
03:58sure but if you're a light user i wouldn't worry about battery life now
04:01the next phone is the galaxy note 10 plus this is a phone that i get quite a
04:05few questions about and this is still an awesome device to
04:08pick up but i get a lot of questions about can i
04:11still buy this phone uh even if it's on its last year of
04:15security patches because this phone is on
04:17its last year of security patches i would just put some antivirus software
04:21on here and that's pretty much it i like to use
04:24avg and i just put it on my older phones that don't have security patch
04:28and i've never been hacked ever on any of my phones
04:32um but yeah so this is a fantastic phone to buy and still really really good
04:36option uh because it's very cheap and i know
04:38it's very affordable especially for you guys overseas as well too so you
04:43have the aluminum frame on here ip68 dust and water resistant has the
04:47built-in stylus and i think one of samsung's best designs the aura glow
04:51color is just really really cool looking uh
04:54always a phone that you know i pull out and people just want
04:57to know what kind of phone it is because it just looks really cool um
05:01it's got a massive 6.8 inch display it's 1440p
05:04498 for the ppi it's got the dynamic amoled hdr 10 plus
05:09the screen on here was so futuristic now this phone came out in 2019
05:13it was so futuristic that watch my s23 ultra comparison
05:18with this phone the screens basically look identical
05:21from the front it's really hard to tell the difference the only thing that
05:25makes this phone screen a little bit dated is probably it's only 60 hertz
05:28it's not 120 hertz or anything like that
05:31but it's still a beautiful beautiful panel
05:34like i said basically identical to the newest phone right
05:38this phone has android 12 with one ui 4 that was the last major update and like i
05:42said it did get security patches this year
05:45and the snapdragon 855 chip on here is still
05:48very very good a lot of you guys be surprised but it still plays pubg
05:52hdr extreme 60 frames easily you also have micro sd card support and
05:57what's really cool about this phone is that
05:59you get 256 gigs of internal storage and 12 gigs of ram on the base model so
06:04you get a lot of storage on this phone you know just with the base
06:08this phone has pretty good stereo speakers as well too you essentially
06:11you know still have all the same software features for right now
06:15under the display fingerprint sensor is really good on here samsung desktop
06:18support basically everything that you have on the s23
06:22this phone also has pretty decent cameras like i said
06:25it does a really good job outdoors but in low light conditions you can kind of
06:30see like where the phone's aging it's got a 12 megapixel
06:33standard at 12 megapixel telephoto two times optical
06:36and then a 16 megapixel ultra wide 0.3 depth sensor it shoots in 4k
06:4060 with a 10 megapixel selfie cam that shoots in 4k 60
06:44like i said the cameras are still really good if you're outdoors
06:48you know just for a point and click video it's also solid anything in
06:51lower light you'll definitely see a softer sort of
06:54grainier image for sure now this phone does have a 4300 milliamp
06:59hour battery with pretty decent charging speed at 45 watts
07:0215 watt wireless charging and reverse wireless charging
07:06so you still get a very good screen on time with this phone like i said i have
07:09a battery drain test with this one as well
07:12and this one easily can get six hours of screen on a time as well too
07:16just do note like with these older phones if you game a lot you definitely
07:20you're looking at like maybe four to five hours of screen on time all right
07:23so next is the galaxy s21 ultra this is a phone that i would buy
07:27if i you know had to pick a phone from this list
07:31like i said the phone that i recommend to most people is the note
07:34but this is the phone that i would personally buy there's a lot
07:37that i like about this phone so one you can find it in very good condition for
07:41around like 300 bucks it's really really cheap
07:44and excellent condition probably like 350 360
07:47um it's just an awesome looking phone um i just
07:50absolutely love the look of this phone it's got the aluminum frame
07:53uh you know it's got this really cool kind of terminator look to it i really
07:57love the camera cut out on here it's ip68 dust and water resistant and a
08:01lot of people forget this phone actually does have s-pen support
08:04it's just not built in but absolutely beautiful looking phone
08:09i think um the best thing about this phone and i get this from a lot of
08:12people like you know it's like the note like it's 6.9 inches
08:16the reason why the phone is uncomfortable to hold because it's a
08:19boxier phone this phone has a way better shape to it
08:23um and it's a big phone but it's way easier to hold because like me i have
08:26smaller hands you can hold this phone extremely easily
08:30um even though it's a really big phone it's very comfortable to hold
08:336.8 inch display um really beautiful panel dynamic amoled 120 hertz hdr 10
08:39plus very bright 1500 nits peak brightness
08:42full 1440p 515 for the ppi like i said it's a big beautiful
08:47display like i said very easy to manage and hold
08:50uh because of the overall design of the phone being a little bit curved
08:54um so this phone has android 13 one ui 5.1 this phone will get android 14
09:00and 15 and security patches so you can basically hold this phone for years and
09:05years um so once you buy it you don't have to
09:08worry about anything like that this phone has the snapdragon triple a
09:11processor which is still blazing fast it still plays games fast it still
09:16opens applications uh really fast it's just a super super
09:19fast phone and like i said check out the s23 ultra
09:23comparison i compared it to all these phones on the list
09:25um i think except the s21 plus um but yeah
09:29absolutely fantastic um you know chip um it does get a little bit warm when it
09:35comes to like gaming for long periods of time but i've never had anything like
09:38crash on me this phone does have 128 gigs of internal
09:41storage and 12 gigs of ram stereo speakers are really good on here
09:45the only downside is that there is no sd card support so that's
09:49why a lot of people like the note phone um the under the display fingerprint
09:53sensor is there and then i think the best thing about this
09:56phone is that the cameras are still really really good and the zooming
10:00quality on this phone is still excellent it's 108 megapixel standard it's got the
10:05periscope telephoto 10 megapixel does 10 times optical zoom
10:0910 megapixel telephoto that does three times optical zoom
10:13and 12 megapixel ultra wide and guys the 30 time zoom shots look
10:17really good on here 50 times you can take 100 times
10:21it is a really impressive zooming camera so if you're at a concert or something
10:24like that you'll be impressed what this type of
10:27phone can do it's got 8k 24 video and a 40 megapixel
10:31selfie that shoots in 4k 60 like i said the overall cameras are still
10:36very good flagship quality cameras now this phone also has pretty decent
10:40battery life it's got a 5000 milliamp hour battery
10:4325 watt charging wireless and reverse wireless charging
10:47um again this phone i can get a little bit over six hours of screen on time but
10:51overall this is a beast of a phone especially at the price it is
10:55at now um absolutely fantastic all right so next is the galaxy s21 plus so
11:00basically you can think of this as the s21 ultra without the you know
11:05crazy camera setup um but you can find this for significantly cheaper around
11:09like 200 bucks so it's got pretty much the same design
11:13you got the cool camera cut out you also have the matte
11:16finish ip68 dust and water resistant aluminum frame
11:20it's a very you know nice feeling phone in the hand
11:23and also um if you are overseas the s21 fe might be cheaper so you can also get
11:29that phone i really like that one as well too
11:31this one has a dynamic amoled display 120 hertz hdr 10 plus
11:351300 nits peak brightness at 6.7 inches
11:391080p 394 for the ppi you also have android 13 on here this phone will also
11:46get android 14 as well it's got the snapdragon
11:49triple a processor on here it's a very fast phone as well too when gaming
11:53and performance wise it will pretty much outperform anything
11:57in the $200 price point like say for instance a galaxy a14
12:02or even an a54 this is just a much better option in my opinion
12:06you also have 128 gigs of internal storage 8 gigs of ram on here
12:10stereo speakers are on board they sound pretty good under the display fingerprint
12:14sensor samsung desktop support as well too is on
12:17here and basically all the other software features
12:20except for the s-pen stuff this phone also has very good cameras a 12 megapixel
12:25standard a 64 megapixel telephoto lens it also has 1.1 optical zoom 3 times
12:31hybrid zoom 12 megapixel ultra wide it also can shoot in 8k 24
12:36with that 10 megapixel selfie cam that shoots in 4k 60
12:40i absolutely love the cameras on here really good dynamic range great detail
12:44um it's just an overall great uh photo taker and like i said you get
12:48plenty of detail with these 64 megapixel camera on here and battery life is
12:52surprisingly really good on this phone it's a 4800 milliamp hour battery
12:5625 watt wire charging wireless and reverse wireless charging
13:00so you get pretty much all day battery life on this phone so this is a phone
13:03that i absolutely love because it's so cheap and
13:06it's just much better than something like a galaxy a54 or a14 or something
13:10like that all right next is the galaxy s20 ultra
13:13this is another fantastic phone and basically this is an alternative to
13:17anybody who says that the note 20 ultra is too big
13:21because if it's too big that means again like they don't like the way the big
13:25phones feel in hand they might it might be too boxy or something like that
13:28this is a very comfortable phone to hold as well too like the s21
13:31ultra a very similar to that phone but this phone does have
13:35sd card support which um you know if you need expandable storage
13:38this is definitely a great five aluminum frame glass back ip68 dust and water
13:43resistant like i said a very curved a phone on the edges so it
13:47just feels really great in the palm even though it's a big phone
13:50it's a dynamic amoled display at 120 hertz hdr 10 plus
13:551400 nits peak brightness like i said massive display at 6.9 inches
14:00511 for the ppi like i said it's a 1440p panel but you can only run the 120 hertz
14:05at 1080p on this one this one is the last major update was
14:09android 13 when you are 5.1 so this phone is in the
14:13same boat as the note 20 ultra with security
14:16patches snapdragon 865 on here it's blazing fast this phone also can run

15:29basically it's a another phone that can get around six hours of screen on time
15:33pretty easily um so overall these are my picks be sure
