00:00What's up guys, today we're going to be talking about my top 5 favorite flagship phones.
00:04These are phones that I have personally tested.
00:07So if you're in the market for a new flagship phone, these are some great choices.
00:11I might make a part 2 because there are some flagship phones that I want to talk about
00:14that I have not used but I still want to talk about them.
00:18So first is the Galaxy S22 Ultra.
00:20This phone is still roughly going to cost you around $1,000, it's still a very expensive
00:25phone here.
00:26I've been using this phone, I use it as my main phone for a minute.
00:29I think one of the things that never gets old with this phone is the display.
00:32It's a beautiful edge-to-edge display, it's Dynamic AMOLED, 120Hz, HDR10+, it gets really
00:39bright at 1,750 nits, and it's a 6.8 inch display, just super vibrant colors, very high
00:45resolution at 1440p, 500 for the PPI.
00:49It's a beautiful display to look at always.
00:52So anytime I'm using this phone, I always appreciate the really nice vibrant display
00:57on here.
00:58The design on here is also pretty good.
00:59I think it reminds me of the LG Velvet a lot and I really like that phone's design.
01:04So this one looks really great too.
01:06It's got an aluminum frame, it's got a glass back on here, it's IP68 dust and water resistant
01:12as well too.
01:14And you also have the built-in stylus now on the S series so it's technically really
01:18a note.
01:19And the stylus is great for jotting down notes and just navigating if you're one of those
01:24people that don't like to use your fingers, then it's great for that honestly and there's
01:29a ton of software to take advantage of the stylus which I think is really great too.
01:34Not only this is going to have a, I believe a four or five year major OS lifespan and
01:39then it's going to have another like four years or five years of security patches.
01:43So this is going to be a very long lifespan phone.
01:46So if you pick this phone up, you really won't have to update technically for another like
01:50eight years.
01:52So it'll last a really long time with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chip and the Adreno 730.
01:58This phone is very powerful.
01:59Now I did a PUBG drain test and it did a pretty good job with it.
02:03It got a little bit warm towards the end but for the most part it wasn't that bad with
02:08the updates.
02:09It's running a little bit cooler in my opinion.
02:12And also this phone has 128 gigs and 8 gigs of RAM.
02:15That is something that I still don't like to this day.
02:19Like let's say for instance with the Note 10 Plus, that phone launched with 256 gigs
02:22and 12 gigs of RAM.
02:23As the base model, Samsung needs to go back to that if they're going to charge us $1,200
02:28for a flagship phone.
02:30So this phone also does not have the best speakers.
02:33The speakers are okay.
02:35I want Samsung to improve the speakers definitely with the S23.
02:38The speakers are fine, they're just not as loud and the bass is not as good as compared
02:42to some other flagship phones.
02:44And also this phone has NFC, the under the display fingerprint sensor is really fast.
02:48Then all the bells and whistles as far as Samsung desktop support is really useful,
02:52secure folders, all that good stuff is there.
02:55The real highlight with this phone is the 108 megapixel standard camera, extremely high
03:00resolution, 10 megapixel periscope telephoto lens on here, it does 10x and then another
03:0510 megapixel telephoto, it does 3x and then another 12 megapixel ultrawide and you also
03:10have a macro mode.
03:11It shoots in 8K 24 and you have a 40 megapixel selfie that shoots in 4K 60.
03:17You're going to get top notch high quality shots, it does 100x zoom, takes amazing photos
03:21at 30x zoom.
03:22It is a very impressive phone when it comes to zoom shots.
03:26I think the best phone out right now when it comes to just the versatility with all
03:32the cameras and stuff like that.
03:33I think it does a great job with image processing, color, all that good stuff.
03:36So it's a world class camera for sure.
03:39You also have a fairly decent battery life, nothing too crazy here.
03:43It's a 5000mAh battery, 45 watt charging, you have wireless and reverse wireless charging.
03:48Basically I'm able to get around 6 hours of screen on time with this phone, nothing like
03:52I said too crazy.
03:54But this is just an awesome phone for the money.
03:56Alright guys, next is the Pixel 7 Pro.
03:59This is a very impressive phone, it's really grown on me.
04:02Google fixed pretty much everything that was wrong about the Pixel 6 Pro, almost everything.
04:08I'm really impressed with this phone, it's a really nice experience and I think Google
04:12nailed the software experience this year with Android 13.
04:15It's very very smooth, the animations and just the stock feeling, getting updates fast.
04:21I really enjoy that.
04:23The design on here has been slightly improved, I like the sort of metal camera design now.
04:27It's a very iconic design, you know it's a Pixel when you look at it.
04:31And yeah, aluminum frame, glass back, it's IP68, it has kind of like a more boxy feel.
04:36But what Google did here with this phone, which I really like, is that this phone has
04:40a 6.7 inch LTPO AMOLED display, it's 120Hz HDR10+, 1500 nits peak brightness, but the
04:47curve is not as dramatic as the 6 Pro, which a lot of people like.
04:52I think it looks really good and you don't get accidental touches with this phone at
04:56all now.
04:57So you do have 1440p resolution and 512 for the PPI, so it's just a beautiful display
05:03here.
05:04And also, this phone does have Google's new Tensor G2 chip, and then that has been performing
05:12pretty well, just playing games, multitasking, keeping up with the animations and stuff.
05:18It's been a very smooth experience with this phone.
05:20Like I said, it's not going to kill the top phones when it comes to benchmarks and stuff
05:24like that.
05:25But like I said, this is a great phone for all the AI stuff that Google is doing.
05:29It works really smoothly, so I don't think the average person would really notice too
05:34much of a difference from this and an S22 Ultra, right?
05:38So this phone does have 128GB of internal storage and 8GB of RAM on it, so very smooth
05:44performance there.
05:45The speakers are actually top notch on here, I love the speakers on this phone, great bass
05:49quality on here.
05:50This is a really nice, full sound.
05:52NFC is on board.
05:54The under-the-display fingerprint sensor has been improved from the 6 Pro.
05:57That works much better, and not only that, but Google actually introduced Face Unlock
06:02with this phone.
06:03So we do have Face Unlock on here, which is really sweet.
06:06And basically the highlight with this phone is the 50MP standard lens, the 48MP telephoto
06:13that does 5X now, and then we add 12MP ultra-wide.
06:17This also has a macro mode, it shoots in 4K60 on the front and back, and it actually has
06:21a 10.8MP ultra-wide selfie camera, so you're able to get really nice wide shots.
06:27And the photos are just beautiful on the Pixel 7 Pro.
06:30I'm a big fan of Google's image processing on here, especially in just great lighting.
06:36It takes great photos in low lighting.
06:39It just takes some really, really awesome photos, so I absolutely love it.
06:42I think the only thing that's lackluster with the Pixel's camera experience is probably
06:46the video could be a little bit better compared to Galaxy and iPhone video.
06:52But in general, I really love the way just standard stills come out on this phone.
06:56I'm a huge fan of Google image processing.
07:00This phone actually has pretty good battery life, a 5,000mAh battery.
07:03It's got 23W charging, and then you also have wireless and reverse wireless charging on
07:08here.
07:09And my battery experience has been pretty good now that I've been able to use the phone.
07:13Standby time is really good.
07:15In general, this is a phone that can easily go all day.
07:17Alright guys, next is the iPhone 14 Pro.
07:20And for the most part, this has been a pretty good experience.
07:23So it's got a stainless steel frame, it's got a glass back with a matte finish.
07:27I think the design feels nice, very nice luxury design as you'd expect from Apple.
07:32So Apple has the new dynamic island display on here, and basically you don't have the
07:37notch.
07:38It's a pill-shaped cutout.
07:39And it's been pretty good for the most part.
07:42Everything is just very animated, multitasking is a little bit easier on the iPhone now.
07:47And for the most part, it's a nice experience or a nice addition to the iPhone lineup.
07:53And it has the pretty good display, a Super Retina XDR OLED display.
07:57It's 2,000 nits peak brightness, so it's a very bright display.
08:01It's one of the things that I really enjoy with this phone.
08:03So when you're out in direct sunlight, it's really nice.
08:06And it's 6.1 inches, so it's somewhat fairly of an easy phone to hold.
08:10And then you have a, basically like a 1080p plus resolution, 460 for the PPI.
08:15It's a very nice display in general.
08:18So the Apple A16 chip has been blazing fast on this phone.
08:23It is, rarely misses a beat when it comes to animations and just maintains overall a
08:29very smooth experience.
08:31So this phone does have 128 gigs of internal storage and 6 gigs of RAM.
08:35The stereo speakers on this phone are pretty good, very good bass quality.
08:39They're pretty loud as well too.
08:41Face ID of course on here works really well.
08:43And then the camera on here.
08:45So you do have a 48 megapixel standard, a 12 megapixel telephoto with 3x optical zoom,
08:51and then a 12 megapixel ultra wide.
08:54It shoots in 4K60 and then it has a 12 megapixel selfie that shoots in 4K60.
08:59The cameras are pretty good.
09:00With the new 48 megapixel camera, you are able to get a little bit better detailed shots
09:06on the iPhone now, which is great.
09:08It has a macro mode.
09:10I think video is pretty good on here.
09:12The iPhone switches between lenses really smoothly as well too, especially when you're
09:16recording.
09:17And overall, the experience is basically what you would expect in a top tier flagship quality
09:23camera.
09:24Like I said, I'm a big fan of iPhone video.
09:26It's really smooth, really crisp, especially when switching between lenses.
09:29Like I said, the ultra wide looks really great on here for video.
09:33So I'm a big fan of the iPhone video on here.
09:36Now the battery life experience actually hasn't been as good as when I got the 13 Pro.
09:41So it has a 3200 milliamp battery.
09:44It's got fast charging, wireless, and MagSafe wireless charging.
09:50Basically my battery life, I can get around 6 hours of screen on time, but I was getting
09:54much better battery life with the 13 Pro.
09:57So this is pretty much on par with all the rest of the flagship phones as far as screen
10:01on time.
10:03And not only that, but it charges like slow.
10:05It's slower compared to other flagship phones like the S22 Ultra that charges 45 watts.
10:11This only charges 15 watts.
10:13So for the most part, I do really like the 14 Pro.
10:17It's a pretty good experience.
10:18All right, so next is the Zenfone 9.
10:20So I'm a big fan of smaller phones, and this phone is just awesome.
10:25I think it's one of the top phones of this year.
10:27So it's got a plastic back, but it's got a texture to it, and it just still remains a
10:34premium feeling phone, even with the plastic back.
10:36And again, it's more adorable as well too, so if you drop it, it's not going to crack
10:39like glass.
10:40It's got an aluminum frame, IP68 dust and water resistant.
10:43It's got a 5.9 inch Super AMOLED display.
10:46It's 120 hertz HDR10+, and then it is 1100 nits peak brightness.
10:51It's 1080p, 445 for the PPI.
10:55Overall, it's a really great display on here.
10:58So I had no issues with the display as far as color and as far as sharpness.
11:03This phone does run kind of close to a stock version of Android.
11:06It has Android 12 with the Zen UI.
11:08Basically, it's not too heavy of a skin actually.
11:11So like I said, it's not a lot of bloatware.
11:13It's not a lot of stuff that Asus throws in here.
11:16So the software experience to me is really clean, and the stuff that they do have in
11:20there is actually useful.
11:21This phone is running the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 Plus processor, and it's been a really good
11:26experience with that.
11:28It's fairly fast.
11:29It's excellent when it comes to gaming performance.
11:32So in general, I had no issues with performance.
11:35I didn't really have heating issues with this phone.
11:38This phone does have 128 gigs of internal storage and 6 gigs of RAM.
11:41No SD card support.
11:43You also have some amazing sounding stereo speakers, especially for the size of this
11:47phone.
11:48Great bass quality.
11:49Just very full, loud sound.
11:51And to top it off, this phone actually has a headphone jack.
11:54So for anybody that wants to flag your phone with a headphone jack, this is definitely
11:58a great buy for you.
11:59The fingerprint scanner is side-mounted on here, and that works really well.
12:04I was really happy with that performance.
12:07And this phone has a very good camera setup.
12:09It's a 50 megapixel standard and a 12 megapixel ultra wide.
12:13Unfortunately, there's no telephoto lens on here, but it does pretty good just with zoom
12:17shots in general.
12:18You know, just zoom in with a standard camera.
12:21Shoots in 8K 24 with a 12 megapixel selfie that shoots in 4K 30.
12:26Image quality is basically what you would expect.
12:28It's pretty much on par with the rest of these phones as far as giving you a flagship quality
12:32experience with good light, low light.
12:35It's overall, in general, going to take you some really great shots, and you will be surprised.
12:40The battery life is really good on this phone, considering that it's a small phone.
12:44So it's got a 4,300 milliamp battery, 30 watt charging, and then it has a 5 watt reverse
12:49wire charging.
12:50Man, the battery life is good.
12:52It gets well over six hours of screen on time, about seven hours of screen on time for me,
12:58and it's just been an excellent experience as far as the battery.
13:01Now lastly was a phone that sort of went under the radar here.
13:05So the iPhone 13 mini, this is, again, I like these smaller phones.
13:10This one was an awesome experience as well, too, because Apple pretty much fixed the main
13:14problem that this phone had, the 12 mini had, was battery life.
13:19Battery life is very good on the 13 mini now.
13:22And you essentially have the same design here, aluminum frame, glass back, it's IP68.
13:27It has the same XCR OLED display.
13:29It gets 1,200 nits peak brightness, and it's a 5.4 inch display.
13:33So if you like phones that are really small, this is the smallest that you can get that's
13:37going to be like a modern day flagship.
13:39It's 1080p, 476 for the PPI.
13:41I absolutely love using this phone.
13:43It's just really, really easy to hold.
13:46So anybody with smaller hands, I think you'll really love this phone.
13:49The Apple A15 chip is still extremely fast on here.
13:52So performance with opening apps, in general, like multitasking, gaming, is going to be
13:59a really great experience still.
14:01You have 128 gigs of internal storage and 4 gigs of RAM.
14:04You also have great sounding stereo speakers, especially for the size of this phone, very
14:08loud and full.
14:10And of course, Face ID is on here, all that good stuff.
14:13The camera's on here.
14:16So you have a dual camera setup.
14:17It's a 12 megapixel standard and a 12 megapixel ultra wide.
14:20It's using 4K60, and then you have a 12 megapixel selfie that's using 4K60 as well.
14:25The image quality, to me, is pretty much still on par with the iPhone 14 series.
14:30It takes basically the same shots.
14:32You know, if you take out the 48 megapixel, it honestly takes the same shots.
14:38So you're going to get flagship quality photos with this phone still.
14:42Of course, I honestly didn't see a big difference.
14:45And like I said, the big thing with this phone is that you're actually going to get very
14:48good battery life, considering that the battery is pretty small.
14:52So in general, I just really like this phone.
14:55So be sure to let me know what you guys think, and I will catch you guys in the next one.
