00:00The word Basit comes from the root Ba Sa Ta, which means to expand or to increase.
00:09The Holy Quran says, Allah increases the sustenance of whichever of His servants He wills.
00:17Allah is called Al-Basit, the one that has the wisdom to decide when to expand or increase.
00:25Remember we said Al-Qabit has to do with withholding and decreasing.
00:31Al-Basit is pretty much the opposite, it has to do with expanding and increasing.
00:37Allah says in the Quran, And Allah makes one's sustenance decrease, Yaqbid or increase, Yabsut.
00:46Yaqbid, decrease, comes from the same root word as Qabit, and Yabsut, increase, comes
00:53from the same root word as Basit.
00:57Things increase and decrease all the time.
01:00Your money decreases and increases.
01:03Your knowledge decreases and increases.
01:06Your body decreases and increases.
01:09Your whole life is Qabit, decreasing, and Basit, increasing.
01:15Allah is Al-Basit, He expands and increases whatever He wishes out of His wisdom and knowledge.
01:22Look around you, look how many things Allah has expanded and increased for you.
01:28Look how much knowledge you have now compared to before.
01:32Look how much awareness you have now compared to before.
01:36Look at your life and how much has been expanded for you.

01:43If we realise Allah Al-Basit has increased and expanded for us something in life, then
01:49the first thing we should do is thank Him and be grateful to Him by obeying His commands
