00:00What's up guys, today we're going to be talking about the top 5 best budget iPhones to buy
00:05in 2022.
00:06So let's go ahead and get started with the iPhone XS.
00:09This is such an awesome device and personally my favorite on the list.
00:13I think it's just great for the price.
00:15Around $300 right now, I'll have all the links down below.
00:19This has a glass back, stainless steel frame.
00:21It just feels really premium.
00:23I still think this design looks really nice too, still in 2022.
00:28One of the best things about this phone is it actually still has the Super Retina OLED
00:32display as opposed to an IPS display.
00:35It also has HDR10 on here.
00:37It's at 5.8 inches, so it's kind of compact actually.
00:41It's 1125 by 2436, so 1080p plus resolution, 458 for the PPI.
00:47It's just a very nice display, great colors and great resolution, very sharp display.
00:52So that is one of my favorite things about this phone at this price point.
00:55This phone does run iOS 15.3, the latest version, and I see this phone getting updates
01:00at least for another three to four years still.
01:03This phone does have the Apple A12 chip.
01:05That's also another highlight with this phone.
01:08Just awesome performance.
01:09This phone can really just play any game that you throw at it.
01:12It's very fast on iOS 15 with multitasking.
01:16You just don't see a lot of lag and stutter with this phone, which I was really impressed
01:20with.
01:21So this phone does have 64 gigs of internal storage and 4 gigs of RAM.
01:25So do note that you might have to use cloud storage if you run out.
01:28The stereo speakers on here are awesome, great bass.
01:31They sound really, really great, the mids and highs.
01:33You also have NFC, of course, with Apple Pay.
01:36Face ID still works great, very fast.
01:39And I think the cameras on here are still pretty decent, a 12 megapixel standard and
01:43a 12 megapixel telephoto that does 2x optical zoom.
01:46You also get 4K video at 2430 or 60 FPS with a 7 megapixel selfie that shoots in 1080p
01:5360.
01:55As you can see from these shots, the XS still takes some pretty good photos.
01:57Now obviously it's not going to do modern flagships, but I think in good lighting, it
02:02still takes really great photos and I even compared these older phones to the 13 Pro
02:09and a lot of people were surprised at how close image quality is, again, just for your
02:14average person.
02:15So I think you'll be surprised at how good the cameras still are on this device.
02:19This phone also has pretty decent battery life.
02:21It really depends on your battery health that you get with your phone.
02:25It has a 2658 milliamp battery, 15 watt charging, wireless charging.
02:30I'm able to get through a day.
02:32You should be able to squeeze easily around 5 hours and 30 minutes to 6 hours of screen
02:37on time.
02:38Pretty easy out of the XS, so it's still an excellent buy.
02:41Next is going to be the iPhone XR, again, at the same price point with some minor differences.
02:46So the iPhone XR is a much bigger phone, well not much bigger, but it is a slightly
02:52bigger phone than the XS, which is something that I really like.
02:55I think this phone is actually more comfortable to hold.
02:58I think it's at a really nice size.
03:00It has IP67 dust and water resistant on here.
03:04You also have a 6.1 inch IPS retina display on here, so the XS had that 5.8 inch.
03:12This has a slightly bigger display, so if you want a bigger display, you would go for
03:15this one.
03:16It has a 120p plus display at 326 for the PPI.
03:19The display is fine on here for just your normal person, but just remember, if you watch
03:24a lot of content, you're actually going to go with the XS because that has the better
03:28display.
03:29This has iOS 15, the same Apple A12 chip as the XS as well too, so this does a phenomenal
03:34job with gaming, performance, multitasking, bouncing in and out of applications.
03:38You rarely get really any lag on this phone.
03:4164 gigs of internal storage and 3 gigs of RAM on here.
03:46The stereo speakers sound really great on here too, tons of bass, great mids and highs.
03:50You also have NFC with Apple Pay, Face ID, still very fast, works awesome on this device.
03:57There's one interesting thing with the XR.
03:59It only has a single lens, but it still takes really great photos, pretty identical to the
04:04XS.
04:05It's just a 12 megapixel standard with 4K video, 24, 30, 60 FPS with a 7 megapixel selfie
04:11that shoots in 1080p 60.
04:13Basically, it takes great shots, especially at this price point, but like I said, there's
04:17no ultra wide or no telephoto lens on here, so just do note that, but if you're just a
04:23casual shooter, video and image quality is going to be perfectly fine on the XR.
04:29It's actually very good still.
04:30You do have a 2942 milliamp battery with 15 watt charging and wireless charging, so this
04:37has slightly better battery life than the XS actually, so battery life is actually pretty
04:43good on this device, so the XR is still an excellent buy in 2022 as well.
04:48Next is going to be the iPhone SE 2020.
04:51This is an excellent device.
04:52You can find these for a little bit under 300 bucks actually, and I actually really
04:57love this device for one specific reason, but this phone pretty much has the iPhone
05:018 design, essentially aluminum frame, IP67 dust and water resistant, and this is the
05:08go-to phone for anybody who hates big phones and you want a small phone.
05:12This is definitely one of the best that you can actually get right now, so this one has
05:16a 4.7 inch retina IPS panel, 750 by 1334 resolution, 326 for the PPI, so basically 720p+, still
05:27the screen looks pretty good since it's so small.
05:30This is on iOS 15.3.
05:32The highlight with the SE 2020 is actually the Apple A13 bionic chip.
05:37It's actually the fastest chip on this list.
05:41It is extremely fast, it pretty much opens applications and plays games like a flagship
05:46phone, so if you want the fastest and most powerful phone, this phone is just awesome
05:52for this price point, it's absolutely amazing.
05:55You also have 64 gigs of internal storage and 3 gigs of RAM.
05:59This phone also has stereo speakers, which don't sound as good as the bigger phones,
06:03but they're stereo speakers, so they'll get the job done.
06:06If you cover one, the other one is pretty loud enough, so it's not gonna be a big deal.
06:12You also have your NFC with Apple Pay, and here's something that a lot of people actually
06:16love about this phone, is actually the Touch ID.
06:19The fingerprint sensor works really great.
06:21I personally like Touch ID more than the Face ID, just feels more natural to me, but yeah,
06:28I really do like having a physical home button sometimes, so that's pretty much up to you
06:32and your personal preference.
06:34The cameras on here are actually really good.
06:37Now it's the same situation as the XR, it's only a 12 megapixel standard, no ultrawide,
06:43no telephoto, and then it shoots in 4K, 24, 30, or 60 FPS, 7 megapixel selfie.
06:50Honestly, this has one of the best cameras at the mid-range price point, so it is just
06:55very impressive color accuracy, detail, and also video is really good on here, so just
07:01extremely impressive camera for this price point.
07:04Now you do have, where this device kind of suffers, is a 1,821 milliamp battery, 18 watt
07:10charging with wireless charging.
07:12So basically this phone will get you like 4 hours and 30 minutes of screen on time,
07:16it's really not that great.
07:18A way to get around this is to buy a battery case with this phone to be able to charge
07:23it up, but other than that, the SE 2020 is just a fantastic device.
07:29Next is gonna be the iPhone 8 Plus, so this phone is actually still very popular and still
07:34retains its value at about 300 bucks, mostly because it's really the best big iPhone that
07:39you can get with the touch ID button, or the home button.
07:43So it's still a great buy, aluminum frame, IP67, dust and water resistant, a 5.5 inch
07:501080p IPS panel on here, 401 for the PPI, it's a very nice panel, and again, one of
07:58the benefits with these older iPhone screens is that they actually don't have a notch,
08:02so if you hate having notches, you'll really like this phone as well.
08:06You do have the iOS 15.3, the Apple A11 chip.
08:09This phone runs pretty smooth for the most part, I've never really had performance problems
08:13with this phone.
08:14Again, it's not gonna do as well as gaming as that, you know, XR and XS, but it does
08:21do a pretty good job, so if you're a casual gamer, pretty much anything that I threw at
08:26it I was able to play, you just won't be able to max, you know, the graphics out.
08:30You do have 64 gigs of internal storage and 3 gigs of RAM on here, stereo speakers actually
08:35sound really good, a lot of bass, good mids and highs on here, and like I said, the real
08:40selling point with this phone, the reason why everybody buys it, is for the home button
08:43and the touch ID on a bigger screen, so just keep that in mind if you're a big fan of that.
08:49Also image quality was surprisingly pretty good on this device, you have a dual camera
08:53setup, a 12 megapixel standard, and then a 12 megapixel telephoto at 2x optical zoom,
08:584K video, 24, 30, and 60 FPS, with a 7 megapixel selfie that shoots in 1080p30.
09:05I was really surprised at how the images came out, I thought the images had some really
09:09good natural colors, really good detail, the 2x optical zoom did a really great job with
09:15taking like these really nice portrait shots as well too, so I was pretty impressed with
09:21the 8 Plus camera and the video as well too.
09:24So the 8 Plus actually takes really good battery life, it has a 2691 mAh battery, 15W
09:31charging, wireless charging, I did a drain test, I was able to get around 6 hours of
09:36screen on time with this device, so I was extremely impressed with it, so if you have
09:40pretty decent battery health, and that was with I believe like 80 something battery health,
09:46this phone is still going to do a pretty good job at battery life.
09:48And last is going to be the iPhone 11, and just as I suspected, this phone came down
09:53in price pretty well in the used refurbished marketplace, you can actually pick these up
09:57for around $350, and I would try to go on eBay for this one because sometimes Amazon
10:03will hype the price up, but you should pay around $450 to $350 if you want a pretty good
10:10condition one.
10:11The iPhone 11 is a very good device, aluminum frame, glass back, IP68 dust and water resistant,
10:17again love the design on here, you also have a 6.1 inch IPS display, pretty much the same
10:22display in the XR, it's a 720p plus display, 326 for the PPI, and it's a pretty decent
10:28display for most people, it's fine.
10:31You also have iOS 15 on here, this phone, the highlight is really the chip, the Apple
10:36A13 chip is extremely powerful, same chip in the SE 2020, this phone really just does
10:42not lag at all, it is very fast when playing video games, so you can pretty much play anything
10:47at high settings, so it's just a joy to use as far as speed and multitasking wise.
10:53This phone also has 64 gigs of internal storage and 4 gigs of RAM on here, and you also have
10:59all of your little bells and whistles, Face ID is on here, the stereo speakers sound great,
11:04really full, great bass quality, good mids and highs, Apple Pay is on here.
11:09Now the highlight really with the iPhone 11 is that it has pretty much the best camera
11:14on this list, because it has the 12 megapixel standard and then the 12 megapixel ultrawide,
11:20this is the only phone on this list with an ultrawide, which is in my opinion the best
11:24secondary camera you can have, and then you have 4K video at 24, 30, 60 FPS, along with
11:30a 12 megapixel selfie cam that shoots in also 4K, 24, 30, or 60 FPS, so one of the best
11:36cameras that you can get at this price point here, especially if you're looking for an
11:40iPhone here, just great image quality overall, great dynamic range, pretty good low light
11:46on here, ultrawide is very close to the main lens, video is awesome on here, so this is
11:51just a great camera phone, so if you're really concerned about getting the best value for
11:56your money as far as image quality wise, you would go with this device, battery life on
12:01here is okay, it's a 3,110 milliamp battery, 18 watt charging, wireless charging as well,
12:07this phone will easily get you around that 5 hours and 30 minutes to 6 hours of screen
12:12on time, which should be enough for most normal people, so the iPhone 11 is definitely a great
